Very very good food at this place. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is well done and feels super authentic. When you step into this place you don't feel like you're in Brooklyn anymore. The food was excellent as were the drinks. The lamb was one of the best lambs I've ever had and the other dishes reminded of me of the cuisine my Turkish friend's family would cook for us.

STEAK FRITES

Our dear friends Toby and Leslie took us there first time tonight. We ordered cheese clouds, wedges salad, curried cauliflowers, lamb kebab and steak frites. Everything tasted amazing! Fresh ingredients with flavorful spices. The cheese clouds was so light, if you close your eyes, it tastes like a delicious savory whipped creamy clouds. I recommend the cauliflower and the steaks too. They are just so delicious. I cleaned the plates with an extra pita bread. Definitely will go back just for those ones and love to try more things from the menu. Very nicely designed interior, cozy cute atmosphere where you can seat down and enjoy your meal with your loved ones and your favorite people.

Turk's Inn is the supper-club style restaurant adjacent to the Sultan Room, where we attended to see the fabulous Kolumbo band perform. The dining room & bar space is aglow in red hues with plenty of kitsch in the design, Turkish tassels via 1970s tiki trend. Apparently the place was transported from Wisconsin where it originated in the early 1930s. The history is written on each menu btw. We enjoyed our lovely drinks accompanied by the Relish Tray of assorted Mezze and crispy chickpeas. The yummy lamb meatballs were good too. The servers were attentive and very well versed. We were happy.

Finally got to try the food at this place after stopping in for drinks a couple of months ago. First, the Turk's relish tray was delicious! Comprised of hummus, squash dip, muhammara, and olives, and accompanied by toasted bread, this is a flavor smorgasbord. Both my friend and I found it a delicious medley of taste. We also had the house pickles, which were crunch and refreshing. My friend had the shepherd salad, which she said was fantastic. I had the steak frites. The crinkle fries were well-seasoned and crispy, the steak was just okay. Kinda tough, sinewy. I wouldn't order the dish again. The famous cheese curds are at least a one time must try. I'm not big on fried foods, but the curds were rich, tangy, and unique. I had the salty apricot cocktail, with apricot vodka, vermouth, and eau de vie. It was a good cocktail, but I ended up having two of the saffron sour. The saffron sour, made of saffron liqueur, rye, lemon, and black pepper, is complex and spicy and so easy to drink. They have so many cool looking cocktails, made with all sorts of fruits and spices. I would love to try them all. I love the kitschy decor and low, red lighting. It feels like you're dining in a Middle Eastern back alley club or in a genie's bottle. Service has been excellent both times. This time we came in at 10, thinking they closed at midnight, though it turns out they were closing at 11. They didn't rush us or make us feel badly. I apologized profusely because it was an honest mistake and I usually don't enter a place with less than two hours to eat and drink. But they were really accommodating. This is a very short walk from Company XIV. This will always be my post-show go-to!

Cheese curds w/ hot honey and Cherry Cosmopolitan combo simply cannot be beat. Love this spot - perfect for a date, or a solo hang at the bar. Red lighting, low music, cool decor.

Turk's Inn in Bushwick is a Turkish restaurant attached to the music venue Sultan Room with a plush, red interior styled after the original Turk's Inn in Wisconsin. We started with the cheese cloud with date syrup and the relish tray (labne, hummus, muhammara and spiced nuts). The cheese cloud was whipped into a frothy cloud-like texture and paired nicely with the sweet date syrup. For mains we went family style and shared the steak frites, lamb rack, smoked eggplant, spatchcock game hen and sides of broccolini and jeweled pilaf. The food was hearty and we definitely recommend ordering a variety of dishes and sharing

This place has a fun vibe. You definitely come here for the ambiance. We were a large group (9 people) so we had to get the pre fix menu and we had a 1.5 hour time limit. The pre fix included: - dips and bread (quite nice, the red dip was my favorite) (4/5) - salad (3.5/5) - cabbage "steak" and lamb - since I don't eat meat I only tried the cabbage steak but I thought it was quite tasty! (4/5) - two types of fries and dip (3.5/5) - mouse dessert with pistachios and coconut (3.5/5) For drinks I got the Maggie (4.5/5) I thought this was very refreshing - I ended up reordering :). Overall it was fun, the prefix menu made it easy for a large group. I recommend to make a reservation.

What a riot this place is! You feel like you are transported to a different time and place. The supper-club vibe needs to make a comeback. The food is good and fun to share on the rotating tray in the middle of the table. We made a very early reservation so we arrived to an empty restaurant but it soon began to fill up. Make sure you read about the history of this place. It's very interesting. Not sure I'd venture back due to its distance from home but I would recommend a visit purely for the experience.

This is a beautiful restaurant connected to the Sultan Room venue in Bushwick. The Turks Inn was started by a couple in Minnesota in 1930s and brought to Brooklyn with much of the furniture. The food was also amazing: crispy chickpeas, hummus plate, cheese curds, curried cauliflower and drinks were all outstanding. Highly recommend this place if you're seeing a show or just eating out. Lots of vegan options as well and the service is warm and friendly. We saw the New Deal at the Sultan Room and Joe Russo and the band were sitting next to us.

Awesome ambiance. Service is always awesome. They have the most amazing olives and their grilled cabbage is always a hit with guest.

This place is dooooope. Great vibe, cool crowd, impressive décor, great service, delicious cocktails, but most importantly, AMAZING food. We ordered basically everything on the menu: Spiced nuts Olives & artichokes Hummus Kebab shop calamari Turkish BBQ lamb ribs HIGHLY recommend getting the Tahini White Russian cocktail for dessert. Would definitely come back here.

Dunya Kabab House - Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao

The only thing that betrays the hidden nature of Dunya Kabab House is the brilliant red sign. Upon closer inspection, you can see a warm dining area, glass partition to see "where the magic happens" in the kitchen behind, and the many articles plastered showing their unique take on Afghani food. I bookmarked the spot to come back to, and within the week, I came back and ordered takeout for the dish most fellow reviewers raved about -- the Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao. When I got home and opened the bag, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small side salad and the dish I recognised from a visit to another nearby restaurant specialising in Uzbeki food -- the plov! The rice was really well seasoned and the lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone. Everything was really flavourful and well balanced, even for take-out. Unlike the other place, this plov was still sweet without being cloyingly so. I had such good impression that I'm excited to return in the future and try their other dishes, since I heard *everything* Dunya Kebab House does is impeccable.

I also highly recommend the firnee, a decadent custard with pistachios--could honestly eat it all day. It's also super affordable for the quality and portion size--this is definitely going to become a go-to for lunch and dinner in the neighborhood for me. Don't miss it!

I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. My meal here was delicious and I am eager to return, even with the 75 minute commute from north Brooklyn.

When asked for water without any lemon slices, they provided bottled water at no extra cost! Food: (4/5) - rated New York Times top 100 Best Restaurants in New York City in 2025 Every dish came with a small cup of sour cream / Tzatziki based sauce that went with every dish. This was a must and this was mastered very well. Kutaby with chicken and lamb (4/5) - we ordered one each but the lamb was far superior than the chicken. Guru Hingal (4/5) - served in a warmed bowl with a lid in a bed of soft pasta and minced lamb. The pasta reminded me of chow fun (Chinese rice flat noodles) and then some seasoned minced lamb. While overall there were flavors in there, it was still lacked flavors and required to be drowned in the Tzatziki sauces or perhaps a order of table hot sauce. Finally we got the Lamb Lulya Kebab (5/5): this was by far the best dish of the meal! The meat was so wonderfully seasoned throughout, juicy, and complemented well with the rice, onions, and tomato based dip. The wraps themselves were way too small to enjoy using hands so we definitely reconstructed on our plates and attempts with our hands.

You order on the sidewalk via a kiosk and choose your protein (chicken, beef, or mixed), served as a wrap, sandwich, or in a box. I got the chicken box and of the three available sides (salad, yellow rice, fries) chose the rice and sides. The most delicious garlic cream sauce is drizzled over everything, though you can get extra sauce for $1 if you want more than just a drizzle. You can also get some spicy sauce for the same price, which does not come standard with the box. I didn't try the spicy stuff, but I would next time. The rice and the crunchy, shoestring-style spiced fries were great, but of course the biggest star of the box was the ridiculously tender chicken. It reminded me of halal street meat, but it's maybe even juicier and more succulent. Minor notes: The chicken was slightly, just slightly, over salted. Don't wait too long to eat the fries, which lose their luster pretty fast (as fries tend to do).

The quality of the meat stood out to me--it tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and overall pretty good for the price point. The fries, however, were forgettable. The portion felt small, though that didn't bother me as much as the flavor. They had a curry-turmeric style seasoning that just didn't land for me. Instead of being crispy, the fries were limp and dry, which took away from the experience. I did not try signature sauce, which costs extra, and even the ketchup didn't add much to the flavor profile.
