Inside the Trestle

I'm so happy I invited my neighbor/friend to lunch and we decided on The Trestle. I absolutely loved it!!! The sourdough bread was delicious! I had the chicken salad which was great!!! I had pasta salad for my side and it was so good. It was busy but even with the crowd the service was great!!! Truly enjoyed myself. Totally recommend The Trestle for any lunch date. Got the Italian Cream Cake to go. Just took a few bites and omg!!!! So Yummmy!!!

Went to try and get a good donut but alas we were too late. So we ordered coffees and ordered turnover treats. The staff were friendly and helpful. We sat and enjoyed the quiet calm atmosphere as we enjoyed our treats. I also picked up a loaf of dark rye to bring home... it is delicious. Can't wait to try a donut if we can get up on time.... Was told donuts are usually gone by 11 am

The pasta salad has the perfect amount of spiral noodles, broccoli, red onion, and colorful peppers.

The Bistro is known for really good food, but some don't get the attention they deserve. Like the pasta salad & fresh baked broad loaves. You can buy different size containers too. Makes packing lunch easier & more affordable than going out. Fresh vegetables including broccoli, red onions, different colored peppers, etc. Parking can be challenging just to let you know. But Main Street is beautiful. Friendly staff too.

Does this look like a Denver Omelet to you?

Had a nice breakfast, however I think it could be so much better with a few simple changes. First, I recommend the use of butter. All of their "butter" is vegetable spread, which is not healthy and since they serve it with your bread, they probably cook with it as well - but that's a guess. Simply put, use butter. It's cheaper and better and you can buy it in bulk from local farms and place it in nice molds for a custom touch. One can always play it safe by offering butter and vegetable spread. Second, improve the quality of the bread, especially the sourdough, it tasted mass produced, but not in a nice way. Good, made from scratch, freshly baked bread can make a huge impact on the customer. Third, the cooking equipment. I had a Denver omelet that looked like it was made on a flat grill. You know, where they pour out the beaten eggs and it spreads out thin, and then they fold it up so that you get a rectangular shaped omelet? That plus coarsely chopped vegetables paired with finely chopped ham, it just doesn't look good, and it would be so simple to make the omelet look and taste so much better, just by making the veggies the same size so they cook evenly. Finally the coffee, and this is another area that is simple to improve, however in order to improve you have to know what good coffee tastes like. Even though this coffee was freshly made it didn't taste fresh. The key there are the beans and the machine. Now all I had was breakfast, maybe the sandwiches are epic. I'll try those next time.

The historic town on Conway is a very sweet town made up of shops, bakeries, and even a general store. While walking through the town we stopped at the Trestle for breakfast. I enjoyed a wonderful fluffy and flaky raspberry turnover. My niece had a cake pop. While not the most nutritious breakfast we wanted to experience the ambiance of this quant town. The Trestle has several options to choose from. It was late morning so several items were sold out. It's a nice place to stop in for a pastry and a cup of coffee. Enjoy!

That spontaneous decision turned into one of our favorite discoveries. We had just moved from Virginia to Conway and were still getting a feel for the area, so everything felt new. The restaurant offered both indoor and outdoor seating, but the real draw? A peaceful view of the Waccamaw Riverwalk. Sitting outside, overlooking the water, we instantly relaxed--it was the perfect welcome to our new town. Then came the food--and wow. We were blown away. I ordered the seafood sampler loaded with shrimp, oysters, catfish, tater tots, and coleslaw. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. My wife went with the pulled pork dinner, complete with classic sides, pickles, and Texas toast. We swapped bites and couldn't stop raving about how good everything was--especially for the price. Coming from Virginia, I thought I knew BBQ--ketchup-based and familiar. But this was something else entirely. That rich, tangy mustard-based South Carolina barbecue completely changed my expectations. It was a delicious surprise that instantly made me a fan. Our waitress let us know they served brunch on weekends--so back we went. Same riverside view, same laid-back vibe, but a whole new level of indulgence. I ordered the Brunch Chimichanga--crispy, savory perfection--while my wife went all-in on the Brunch Burger: French toast, sausage beef patty, over-easy egg, bacon, American cheese, maple syrup, powdered sugar, and hashbrown casserole. Yes, it was as incredible as it sounds. Now, Bonfire Taqueria isn't just a place we tried--it's a place we return to again and again. Great food, relaxing views, and a welcoming atmosphere make it one of our go-to spots to unwind, sip a drink, and soak in everything we love about downtown Conway.

There were plenty of free tables, but they didn't have enough servers, so that extended the wait. Service wasn't very fast, as a result. I got the shrimp and grits, and the portion size was pretty small, and the flavor was unremarkable. There was nothing wrong with anything. So I'd say it's fine. But it doesn't stand out, either.

The host very kindly escorted me there & what a great surprise! The Tap Room host, Joanne, saw me looking a bit lost & greeted me. I didn't want to take a whole table as I was just there for a cocktail. Joanne suggested one of the leather lounge chairs & got me settled. She made me feel very comfortable. I'm old school enough that as a woman I felt awkward being in an unfamiliar town in a bar full of strangers. Joanne reassured me & checked on me throughout the evening. I had a fabulous Old Fashion, enjoyed the multiple TV's & ended up conversing & laughing with a whole family who were also visiting. All around, a great experience that all started with Joanne taking me under her wing & making me feel comfortable. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Conway!

The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill Tucked right in the heart…read moreof downtown Conway, The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill is the kind of hidden gem you hope to stumble upon--and then can't stop talking about once you do. Helen and I discovered it while scouting out local spots, and its location couldn't be better--just steps from the scenic Conway Riverwalk, surrounded by charming shops and historic buildings. Even the street parking (easy parallel with a two-hour window) felt like part of the laid-back, small-town experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe hit just right: cozy, welcoming, and full of locals who clearly know a good thing when they see it. The staff made us feel right at home--friendly, attentive, and happy to help us navigate the menu. We kicked things off with the cold lobster dip, and let me tell you--this isn't your average appetizer. Imagine a creamy lobster roll transformed into a rich, indulgent dip, packed with chunks of lobster and served with warm pita points. It was the kind of dish you don't want to share... but have to. Helen went for the Reuben--perfectly stacked with shaved corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and house-made Thousand Island, all grilled on black rye. I opted for the seafood platter with fish and shrimp, cooked to perfection. The fries were hand-cut, the seafood was fresh and flavorful, and while the jalapeño dill slaw had a bit more kick than I expected, the rest of the plate absolutely delivered. As we soaked in the atmosphere, we spotted a plate of loaded Brussels sprouts heading to another table--crispy, golden, tossed in garlic parmesan sauce, and topped with bacon and shredded parmesan. Safe to say, that's already on our must-try list for next time. And so is their "Everything but the Hen" wrap--a hearty combo of shaved steak, grilled shrimp, bacon, fresh veggies, provolone, and horseradish mayo wrapped up in a soft tortilla. Yes, it sounds as good as it looks. The best part? After a couple of beers, a full seafood platter, a loaded Reuben, and that incredible lobster dip, our total was still under $50--even with tip and tax. Great food, great prices, and a relaxed, local vibe--The Crafty Rooster Bar and Grill has officially earned a spot on our regular rotation. We'll definitely be back for more.
