They have two locations within a block of each other in Downtown Conway. The bakery, and the café. The bakery is absolutely unreal. Its an adorable little shop with friendly staff and the most incredible baked goods. They have everything from breads to the most decadent cakes. They have a long list of pies you can special order. I will be honest, I am a savory not a sweet, and this place is dangerous. Dangerous to your waistline, because everything I have had was like taste fireworks. The café, oh again, so so good. The sandwiches are on their homemade sourdough, ahhh so so good. I have a special relationship with the grilled chicken BLT with spicy mayo. The chicken is perfectly cooked, tender and seasoned. Give this place a try and you will not be disappointed! My brother and I almost went to Panera today but we were in Downtown Conway and we figured we'd try The Trestle. Better value and SO much better quality! Our server shared with us that they bake their bread fresh every morning and the fruited chicken salad was so fresh and delicious. My brother got the roast beef and he said it was the best he's ever had--the meat was nice and red and he practically inhaled it. Tried the lemon meringue pie on another visit--they cut me a HUGE piece to go and it was SO good. Will be back soon! read more

I really like this place and the kitschy vibe - you know you are in the south and that's nice. The menu is varied and a good place for breakfast or lunch. Our server was so great also, very nice, attentive and on top of it - also, made me a lovely cup of hot tea that most appreciated. I started with one of the soup specials of the day - kind of like a she crab - it was tasty, hot, creamy and a good size. I will say the addition of fresh corn in this seafood soup was a great addition. I selected a traditional american cheese burger with home fries and it did not disappoint. My burger was cooked to perfection with a combination of american melted cheese and toppings - really hit the spot. I asked for home fries, instead of chips, as they were offered with breakfast items and no problem there for substitutions. My dining companion did a turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato and onion plus a mixture of mayo and mustard. Very fresh and just enough turkey. All in all, a nice lunch in such a sweet little town and I love supporting local businesses with hard working people. read more

Had a soup and sandwich combo. The soup was black bean, and it was pretty good. The sandwich was a cheese sandwich on sourdough bread. The bread made the sandwich really good. My son didn't eat his pasta salad, so I tried it and it was just okay to me. The girl at the counter recommended an oatmeal cookie for dessert, and it tasted great. Black and white checkered floors with yellow table cloths and vintage items, such as bicycles and books adorn the walls to further enrich the aesthetic pleasantries. Ordering lunch at 11:15 was a error on my part, a rude reply from the back half of a grumpy young lady was an error on her part. Note: I've been to the finest restaurants in this country, places that could come off as snobby and aloof, yet know better, the coldness of this lass was fully apparent, and apparently she just doesn't get that she's small potatoes. Not my problem, although my review could have been more cutting due to her behavior, but I digress. The tuna fish that sat inside the melt blew my socks off. No Starkist nor Bumble Bee in the mix here, no sir, in fact it was the polar opposite. The bread was freshly baked but not toasted, the same deliciously delicate sweetish bread that accompanied my Loaded Potato soup which was simply divine. We were very excited to come here, and were very let down. There was only one waitress working for the whole restaurant and she was frantically trying to serve everyone. We sat for over an hour waiting for the food we ordered. Once we got it they had run out of hash browns and gave us cold home fries instead. One of the orders of home fries had a hair in it. Absolutely delicious pies and food!! The staff is extremely kind and this small business really serves from their heart. I was planning on making a pie for my father in law when he came to visit but ended up breaking my leg and having surgery the weekend before they came. I called over to the trestle and the pie I was by order only. They made the pie SO FRESH that when my husband went to pick it up, it was still warm! My father in law was very impressed with the pie and I was very impressed with the service and kindness we received from Kimberly, the baker, and the staff! 10/10 will be coming to the trestle for all of our future baking needs!! Food came out in a reasonable amount of time but there were only 2 other tables. Cashier lacks customer skills. I wanted to order a slice of pie to go. She gave me my change with no comment, turned and went in the back. A "thank you" would have been courteous. Bakery: Went to the bakery to get my slice of pie, coconut cream. This is the last time I will get anything from their bakery. Usually get cookies or cakes, always dry or stale. Today the pie disappointed as well. The pie was old. My mom sent a picture to the trestle of a cake I wanted for my birthday, the bakery said they COULD do it ... well my mom went to pick it up and it looked nothing like the cake I wanted. We ordered a cake for 3 families, cake was hard and dry. No one had a second piece or even finished their first piece. We brought the cake bake and explained what happen. It was a sheet cake red velvet, missing maybe a fourth of it. The owner and worker took a bite of it and said it was fine,actually said it was really delicious. No refund or credit was offered. I appreciate business like Marriott who pride themselves on making situations right at the customer level. Sadly, 3 families will not come here again. Not a single attempt to fix the situation. This trendy little bakery is in the revitalized downtown area of Conway, SC. It's one of those great little areas that so many cities and towns are trying to reclaim and revitalize. Conway, SC may be small but they are putting forth a great effort in this area and it shows. I stopped in here after a long day of errands and I fell in love the moment I walked in. The incredible smell of a bakery is something that is hard to match. Samples are ample here and the choices are plentifiul as well. I went with a Tres Leches Cake and a raspberry-filled doughnut. Heavenly. The cakes on display are works of art and the staff seems to all be hospitality majors. I also tried samples of the Italian Creme Cake and and Apple Fritter. I had to stop myself before I reached the mini-tarts. Everything was delicious. It was the sort of bakery I had become accustomed to when I lived in "big cities." I didn't have time to browse the lunch menu but I will definitely be going back to check out the food offerins. As far as pastries, fresh breads and cakes go, I have found my favorite place. If you like doughnuts (not donuts)and sweets, the Trestle is a must. Their baked goods are perfection. The doughnuts are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. Their Long Johns will satisfy even the most hard core sweet tooth. Besides doughnuts they also have cookies, dessert bars, sweet and savory breads, as well as baklava, canolis, cakes, pies, tarts, and just about anything else you can imagine. I haven't visited their lunch store as much, but everything I've ever gotten from there has been delicious. The Trestle Bakery and Cafe is a nice little place for a meal in the beautiful downtown area of Conway. The cafe is right on Main Street and easy to access with street parking. The inside is cozy with comfortable seating and tables for about 20-30 people at once. I stopped by on a Saturday morning for breakfast while on my way out of town. It took about ten minutes to deliver the food with only a few other people dining, so that was ab it disappointing. But the food was so very good: I ordered french toast, eggs, and hashbrowns. But while the food was good, the only syrup they have come from individual servings in a rip-open plastic pouch. That is a major detraction since the syrup is equally as important as the food. Overall, I would say it's a nice stop for breakfast or lunch, but it doesn't stand out in my mind as a place I would want to visit every time I come to Conway. It's like a good action movie: it was well worth the price of admission, I had a great time, but I won't be paying to come back to see it again anytime soon. TIP: Conway is the forgotten gateway to the Grand Strand, so don't forget it now. read more

Almost hidden down a side street in the middle of Conway sits a gem of southern hospitality with a side of country ham. We visited for breakfast and found a recently vacated seating for two among roomful of gingham covered tables. I got the feeling that it was a popular stomping ground for locals. The walls showed local memorabilia but not in a "junked up" way that some places tend to do. ------------------- Service- A (they were packed and food was cooked to order..not re-heated in a microwave) Cleanliness- A (they were busy and yet no food or crumbs) Food- A (I had the french toast, country ham and yes...cheesy grits) -----------NOTES: The servers although they were extremely busy were very friendly. My food was delicious. My French toast added up to about three large thick slices of the homemade sourdough bread that they also sell. My husband had a breakfast sandwich with 2 fried eggs with country ham and cheese on it that he really enjoyed along with hashbrowns that were cooked perfectly. The only downsides were that it was a long wait to get your food (but then again its not reheated in the microwave) and that syrup came in a prepackaged rip open pouch. read more
