When we moved in during summer 2023, everything seemed great. Natasha, who is no longer there, was the reason we signed the lease. She was professional, kind, and actually cared about residents. Unfortunately, that level of professionalism left with her. Before move-in, we were promised a unit on the quiet side of the property since Gravity Heights and Spill the Beans were still under construction. Right before our move-in date, we were suddenly told our original unit was no longer available and placed directly across from the construction zone. For months, we woke up at 6AM to jackhammers, dust, and debris all over our balcony. We never even complained, hoping management might at least appreciate how patient we were. Spoiler: they didn't. If you end up in a unit facing Gravity Heights, good luck sleeping on weekends. The noise from the bar is constant -- loud music, drunk people shouting, and packed parking lots until 10-11PM. It's nonstop chaos, especially Friday through Sunday. Forget about ever finding parking near your own building when Gravity Heights hosts an event or gets busy. At our first renewal, they offered to keep our rate the same at $3,210 even though the same floor plan was being advertised for $3,090. We asked if they could honor that rate, especially considering all the construction noise, the location change, and the fact that our view was basically a construction site. Of course, they declined. Fast forward to our second renewal, same rent, same excuses, same issues. We decided not to renew. Then, right after we gave notice to vacate, we saw our exact unit listed on their website for $2,970. So apparently the "market rate" only drops once you move out. We left the unit spotless, professionally cleaned, and in better condition than when we moved in. When we moved in, the place was dusty, grimy, and had to be deep cleaned, which we documented. Still, we were charged $105 for "3 hours of cleaning." When we questioned it, Ashley told us that unless we used a "legitimate cleaning company" and could provide an invoice, the charge would stand. Funny, since the lease says nothing about approved companies or invoices, just that the unit should be cleaned and left in the same condition. Apparently, "legitimate" just means whoever they feel like approving. After a few rounds of back-and-forth, Ashley refused to reverse the charge. Here's why we didn't renew: 1. The gym. There are three treadmills total, one of which was broken for two months before we left. Multiple tickets were submitted and all marked "closed," not fixed. The treadmill would shut off mid-run, sending people stumbling off the belt. I personally saw residents almost get hurt. Management did nothing. Apparently, safety is optional here. 2. Rules don't apply to staff. Residents are told only two guests per unit can use the pool. Meanwhile, the leasing office staff who live on-site, including the manager, regularly threw pool parties with more guests than that. It's nice to see the rules only apply to the people who pay the full rent. 3. The hot tub is disgusting. About once a month, the hot tub water turns a murky yellowish-green color that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. The water gets cloudy, a film forms on the surface, and you can literally smell the chlorine trying (and failing) to mask whatever is growing in there. It's left open like that for days until someone finally decides to close it for "maintenance." Residents still get in because no one warns them, and management doesn't bother to rope it off until the very last minute. If you plan to use it, I'd recommend a hazmat suit or at least a strong immune system. 4. Valet trash that's barely valet. You pay for five days a week of pickup, but at least once or twice a week, trash just sits in the hallways overnight because no one came. No refunds, no adjustments, just trash everywhere and a charge that stays the same. 5. "Security." Cars were broken into multiple times in the "gated, secure" garage. The security guard usually sat in their car or wandered around occasionally. Somehow, all these break-ins happened while "security" was on duty. Go figure. 6. EV charging and garage chaos. If you have an electric vehicle, good luck. Residents without EVs constantly park in the charger spots, leaving no space for the people who actually need to charge. The office doesn't do anything about it. The garage itself is overcrowded, poorly monitored, and always feels chaotic. It's more like a free-for-all with a gate that occasionally works. In short: This place started off great and went downhill fast. Broken promises, zero accountability, and management that hides behind fine print when it's convenient for them. If you enjoy paying premium rent for ignored maintenance, lazy management, sleepless weekends, and being gaslit about "policy," this is your place. Everyone else, look elsewhere. read more

I have lived here almost a year and the initial thrill of living in a brand new community has been worn off since I moved in. It appears beautiful from the outside but there are so many issues internally it's hard to justify living here. 1. Maintenance: requests will go ignored and work orders unaddressed. Unless, there is some sort of preference in residents who do get their maintenance requests completed. I am currently waiting on two requests within the last two weeks. In addition, they send emails to the residents that some issues, such as drains, need to be taken care of by residents with a 'tool' (which one? we don't know). They do testing on the building and will often not notify the residents until the moment of or after it's happened. So you could hear an alarm go off and not be sure if you should actually move or not. 2. Accessibility: I feel this may be the largest issue here. Some of the door handles just don't open even if you're a resident, and even if you call the office requesting assistance. Again, I'm not sure if it's some residents get preferential treatment but in my experience I may as well not live here. Some door handles don't even exist. The place is a maze and is not friendly for people with mobility issues, considering elevators are only at two opposite ends of the building and multiple doors that do not open automatically. 3. Cleanliness: Dog poop everywhere. The halls smell like it and you will often find baggies of dog poop on the property. People just do not care or pick up after their dogs and the office has sent emails to the community about this as well. The property is otherwise well taken-care of and the custodians clean many of the common areas very well. 4. Building: The building seems to be poorly made with lack of insulation, it feels like the upstairs floors stomp around like Bigfoot when they are walking around normally. You hear anything that makes contact with the floors. The front door is also a portal to all the hallway noises. The insulation between the apartments seems to be the only good thing, as I do not hear anyone to the sides of me. There is always a smoke alarm going off at various times of the day. In addition, despite needing key fob access to most places in the building, there are some non-resident people who make their way in to solicit or loiter, and the office will not do anything about it despite notifying them. This is an issue if you live on the first floor as well. People have come in to canvass the apartments to see who is home and who isn't. 5. Conservice: This is the third-party utility service the complex uses, and being one of the first residents in the complex was subject to a mishap on their end. They miscalculated the services due for months, and then retroactively charged the residents for their mishap, so for several months we have been paying 2-3x as much as what would have been paid. There has not been any follow-up communication as to when their mishap will be considered final and corrected, so we're just here paying more until they say so. There are many places to live and I would highly recommend seeking those out. The location here isn't even worth it, you get stuck in the mall and shopping plaza traffic and the roads by the complex are awful due to significant potholes. read more

She was calm and took her time explaining all questions. It's hard to find good customer service when looking for a new apartment. UPDATE: After living at Townsend for 15 months I can say that I do not recommend moving in. Rent is insanely high for what you get and you get charged for everything when you move out. I was the first person to live in my unit. When I first moved in I noticed a lot of building mistakes (sealant all over the countertops, dents in the kitchen sink, black smears all over the walls, little dents everywhere, mismatched paint, etc...) On my move in sheet I noted all of their mistakes and took photos. Natasha emailed me and asked if they could fix the "damages" for me. I told her no thank you as long as she took note so I wouldn't get charged at move out. She reassured me that I wouldn't and that she would upload the photos to my portal. She never did. Then- when I moved out a couple months ago I got charged for all of it! $600+. & they never even told me I owed them anything. After a month of waiting for my security deposit I emailed Natasha to ask where it was. She informed me that I owed an insane amount of money. Townsend was unable to provide a list of the "damages" even though they were wanting to collect $600. After countless emails between Natasha and her dismissive attitude, I decided to just pay it. So if you move in beware they will take your security deposit and more. ZERO parking- Parking is terrible as they partnered with a neighbor restaurant that has valet service. If there are open spots, valet will put cones in the spots to reserve for valet even though that is literally your home. There are not that many spots in the parking garage and my unit was far away from the parking garage. The package room was always insane. Clearly they didn't charge everyone the 3 day fee. Delivery drivers would just throw the packages wherever they wanted on the property. Sometimes I would have a package delivered on one day, look everywhere for it, wouldn't be able to find it, then it would be magically sitting in the package room the next day. This happened often. Packages were stolen. Even though there are security cameras all over the package areas and mail rooms, they will refuse to look at the footage. The property is cosmetically amazing. The amenities - pool and grills always work majority of the time. Unfortunately the outdoor tvs and fire pits barely function and you'll never know if they will work properly when you go to use them. The staff does provide instruction nor do they know how to operate. Parking is terrible as they partnered with a neighbor restaurant that has valet service. The parking garage is constantly getting broken into. So many people had their cars stolen include my truck. The hallways smell like weed 80% of the time. Constant theft in the mailroom and total disorganization. Most importantly - When turning the room over after vacating the property, the property Managment did not show up for the pre-inspection walk through. It was scheduled in advance for over a month. There were no instructions on how to turn the apartment over including what to do with the keys and parking passes. The staff says they are there on Sundays but after living there for 2 years I can tell you that is false. It's probably due to the fact that majority of the staff lives at the property themselves. My Roomate and I moved out after almost 2 years on a Saturday and with no staff there Saturday night nor Sunday we turned the keys in on Monday to verify procedures. We were charged two additional nights even though we submitted move out paper work and all of our belongings were moved out. When trying to find comprise with the leasing team - they said they don't provide move out instructions. They require a 30 day notice of intent to leave which we completed in advance. They missed the walk through appointment and proceed to say it's not their responsibility to inform residents the close out procedures even though they manage the property. read more

I just moved in to this complex and I was not sure if it would be worth the price. I have lived at Greystar run properties and they are absolutely horrible it was the only thing I wanted to avoid this year. I had never heard of the Dinerstien company but from the beginning of the process to about a week after moving in I'm beyond impressed. From the leasing office to the amenities to the quick replies and responses to the maintenance team everything is top notch. The amenities are so pretty and well maintained. It feels so nice to walk to get the mail or the gym and it is pretty luxurious. It's relaxing and peaceful. The leasing office is kind and helpful and they are on top of everything. The maintenance team came to fix my dish washer (it wasn't plugged in) within 24 hours. Even the aroma diffusers release a relaxing sent to add to the serenity. The package area seems to be a good idea but it seems the delivery drivers aren't trained on how to use it as a few packages have gone to a room that the leasing office only has access to. You must go to them and they walk you over and let you get the package. I went to the package room another time and the driver from Amazon wasn't sure how to use the package machine. I think maybe a sign could potentially fix the issue but it's super small and not a big deal for me. I have seen reviews talk about the noise level but I'm not sure if I'm lucky or have quiet neighbors but I haven't heard anything. Most people are friendly and kind and seem to be professionals and software engineers. The parking lot is a bit crowded and it's first come first serve but it's clean and the spots are a good size! The guest parking is easy to find for delivery people, guests, technicians etc. I was surprised at everything. I was hoping it would be a nice complex but it surpassed my expectations! The thermostat is a honeywellhome smart thermostat so it connects to Alexa and you phone via an app which also allows you to get about 95$ in rebates from sdg&e. The appliances are all stainless steel and the fridge has a water and ice dispenser built in which is always nice. The bathroom has a good amount of storage and the walk in shower has amazing water pressure actually all the sinks and water faucets are strong. Also a parking spot is included from a one bedroom. I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend 3200$ on a one bedroom because even typing that out and seeing it is alottt but no doubt worth every penny and I am over the moon with my choice. If you want a relaxing and luxurious almost resort like complex this is the place for you. The cherry on top was the cute little welcome items they had in the apartment when I moved it. There was dishwasher pods, cascade rinse helper, toilet paper, a steel bottle for water. It was just sweet and all items were so great and needed. read more

Natasha took me in without an appointment and showed me the property and you can't help but fall in love. The amenities, hallways, decor etc, all kept really nice and clean.
