We were previously living at a sister property and were truly sad to leave, so we were incredibly relieved when we were told about Scripps Landing. From the very beginning, we felt fortunate that JD was there to greet us, give us a great tour, and answer all of our questions. The tour was wonderful and immediately gave us a feeling of being at home. The timing couldn't have been better, and the stars truly aligned with an awesome special that made this transition possible. My mom has a brain injury, so I assist her with major life changes like this, and often information needs to be repeated for her to fully understand and remember. JD and Austin have both been incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating throughout the entire process. Their professionalism and compassion have made what could have been a stressful experience feel manageable and reassuring. The staff has been consistently helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, with excellent follow-up and an easy, smooth process from start to finish. We are set to move in soon and are extremely excited about the unit my mom will be moving into. It's a great fit, and we feel confident she will be very happy there. We truly believe this is going to be my mom's forever home, and we are so excited for her to begin this new chapter of her life there. Only lived here half a year and was charged more than the deposit when I left. Never in my decades renting has that ever happened. On the outside it may look nice, but the inside of my bathroom wall had mold/mildew that I sprayed out of the wall since it's not built well. It's probably still there which also contributes to the poor air quality in the unit You can tell things are outdated, my unit had previous water damage in the cabinet to which they just painted over for the next tenant despite there being a huge dip -Parking can be vicious if you don't have a carport and have more than one car. You'll be forced to park far on the street if you can't find a spot -don't trust your property/vehicles to be safe here to not be stolen, and if they are the office isn't helpful There is always something they're doing or scheduling like painting, fire alarm checks, maintenance, water shut offs, things that inconvenience you. The hot tub was always broken when I lived here, so much for amenities. The gym is so small, it would actually be difficult to navigate and use equipment if two separate parties were in there. For what you're paying for, there are other properties with more square footage and a higher standard worth living in. I do not recommend and would rather pay the 200+ more to live elsewhere with updated appliances, better parking situations, amenities, and literally more room. They are just money hungry beings trying to save their property. They are actually short staffed and have to get help from Sol Terra. read more

My family and I lived here for almost 3 years and everyone is so friendly! The staff and maintenance team were always diligent and addressed any issues promptly. I appreciated how transparent they were and always gave prompt notice for any scheduled maintenance. The move out and move in process was both a breeze. The apartment hosts great events every month and have food trucks come by which is always nice. They had many grills, 2 pools and 3 hot tubs which was always clean! I recommend this complex not only because it's in a convenient location but because the staff always made us feel at home. I will miss calling Scripps landing my home. Side note: Even after moving out, they were more than happy to help me with a package issue I had which goes to show how amazing the leasing office is. read more

I lived at Scripps Landing for 3 years because of the location. While the pictures of the community looks great and they loved to showcase the the pool and hot tub, the hot tub in the lower level only worked half of the time. When asked if the hot tub was going to get fixed, management kept saying they were working on it, but it would take months. When it was "fixed" it would stop working shortly after. This a dog friendly community, so expect to find dog droppings on the walkways often. This should be the dog owner's responsibility, but as a non- pet owner, it was frustrating to see poop everywhere. My biggest gripe with Scripps Landing was when I left. They charged me $460 when I left. They charged for cleaning, which is standard, but they charged to repaint the walls and damages to the flooring that I did not do. In the time that I lived there, I didn't hang anything on the walls, thus I didn't understand why I would have pay for them to repaint the walls. If it was their own upkeep, I think they should pay for it and not charge tenants. As for the floor damages, they ripped the floors up, took pictures of the floors after, then claimed that I did those damages. Prior to moving out, they scheduled an inspection and during the inspection, they said no additional charges were going to added other than the cleaning fee, yet after moving out they charged for repaint and the bogus floor damage. When I called to clarify, Alex said she would talk to maintenance and follow up, but surprise surprise no follow up was done and kept sending invoices. read more

I stayed here for about a year and 1 month. Overall, it is a decent place to live, but has its issues. Pros: - Candace and Ashley at the front office are prompt and respond to service requests usually within the same day - Each unit has a washer and dryer - The Luxer lockers are great for keeping your mailed packages safe and secure - During the pandemic, management didn't raise the rent if you were planning on renewing your lease - Quiet place to stay, you don't hear your neighbors Cons: - There were pests: 1 cockroach in the kitchen and at least 3 crickets throughout the apartment. I thought that being on the second floor, this wouldn't be an issue, but apparently it still was - The washer and dryer are in the balcony, so it can be inconvenient when it rains - The water can be slow to heat up in the shower, which can lead to high cold water costs - Unassigned parking spots are not easily available. Make sure you're at the apartment complex before 6 pm, otherwise you're out of luck - They took away more than my security deposit, which was $400. They charged me $410.37, including the Conservice charge (sewer, garbage, water, which was $88.27), apartment cleaning, carpet cleaning and pet treatment, stove burner replacement, and paint and supplies. I am furious because I cleaned the apartment, had the pre-move out inspection, and was specifically told to clean the top of the fridge, the ceiling fan, the bathroom exhaust fan, and the bathroom sink. Otherwise, it was clean. I did the best I could, and they had the audacity to charge me $130 for apartment cleaning. Another insult was them charging $50 for pet treatment, even though I had no pets during my stay. I have had managers take my deposit away, but not to this extent. My last manager didn't take any deposit away at all. If they charged this much for cleaning, I might as well not have tried to clean the place at all. Scripps Landing is a decent place to stay, but once you're no longer a resident, you're just an afterthought. How disappointing. read more

I made the mistake of moving away once my lease was over and I wish I didn't. I ended up moving back because that's how awesome they are . You will not find any other apartment complex with such amazing staff. Ashley and David are always so helpful with any questions or concerns in the office and the maintenance team is always going out of their way when I have any issues . If there is ever any issues they jump on it ASAP and fix it . Amazing quiet community and I never have any issues . The pool and jacuzzi are amazing and heated . read more

In response to the condescending "living in an apartment community can mean adjusting to how people around you live": Yes, of course!! And I gladly did so for normal things like: regular noise, people working odd hours like graveyard shifts, occasional pet noise, leafblowers and tree trimming, babies crying, kids playing, parties, couples arguing, loud cars, strong cooking smells, etc, etc. These things are all par for the course for apartment complexes. But if you seriously want to advertise on Yelp that tenants must adjust to *deliberately* rude neighbors who purposefully blast music, from a car parked outside your window, so loud that it wakes you up inside during early morning hours, OR adjust to those same neighbors leaving a barking dog completely unsupervised to poop on a porch all day (poor dog even escaped once when they of course weren't home, and I was happy to help out when it did, but it deserves better care). Well then, that's a weird marketing move and a bizarre stance to take, but you do you. Additionally, if each situation was "addressed," why not say so at the time, rather than completely ignoring any negative feedback? I understand if it's confidential, so even a confirmation of receipt for the complaint would have been better than completely disregarding it. Especially when I only sent a couple messages about *particularly* disruptive incidents and not every little thing (there was PLENTY of stuff over 3 years that I simply ignored, or dealt with as mentioned before - I don't ask for help lightly and only spoke up when incidents severely effected my work schedule, and when asking these neighbors not to blast music outside was only met with a vapid shrug). Again, I enjoyed living here for the most part, but want to be completely honest about the not-so-good part of the experience, because those last couple months were baaad. I just wish management would also be honest about how they could do better rather than posting publicly & defensively that tenants simply need to adjust to purposefully disruptive behavior that is waaaaay outside of normal neighborly noise. Friends, brace yourselves, this is a friendly warning that this may get lengthy. After selling our home and making the move to San Diego, my husband and I wanted to find a place that was doggo friendly, smaller and closer to schools, shops and other amenities. We came across this place and of course had to see what others had to say about it. After reading the good and bad, we decided to pop into the leasing office and ask questions and check out the place ourselves. We were greeted by one of the friendliest people, Candace! She entertained and answered all of our questions and addressed all concerns. We decided to drive around the property just to see what the parking situations is like because you know, parking can be a deal breaker. To our surprise, the carports have wide spaces, perfect enough for our kids to get into our SUV. I came back about a week later to get a property tour with Candace and to check out a unit and immediately knew this place would be a great transition for us after selling our home. We moved in about a month later. We had a little hick-up before the move, but Candace and Thea took care of them RIGHT AWAY. I'm talking about same day, same hour type of magic guys. I picked up the keys from Thea, which is when I officially met her for the first time. Super nice, super friendly and very informative. Great leasing office staff who made us feel welcome, checked that box on our invisible list! While inspecting our unit, we made note of discrepancies on our move-in condition list which was taken care of right away!! This brings me to a current encounter here. Last week we had issues with our washing machine (not draining or spinning) and we decided to call maintenance in the evening to see if they could take a look at what the issue could be. Since it was already in the evening, we didn't expect someone to come until the next day. Gabriel turned back around and came with his equipment the same night! I think he arrived within a matter of 15 minutes! Again, another friendly and knowledgeable staff member here on the maintenance team! Long story short with our washer, it needed to be replaced, so he placed a order in the next morning and it arrived and he and Jose installed it 2 days later. Everyone that has left a review on here has had their own personal views and encounters, but please take my review into consideration as well. My husband and I have lived in nice apartments with SHITTY ASS staff. This is a great place to live. If you're single, living with your partner, have kiddos, pets, this is a nice place to live. It is close to schools, shopping centers and the 15 FWY. We haven't had any issues with pests, mold or moisture. They have also recently replaced all units with Nest thermostats to help us save money. Very cool and prettier to look at than the older thermostats. Pretty calm apartments, for some reason it seems everyone is mature here. Neighbors are all quiet, except around the pool, summer time. But that is pretty common. Parking is at a premium and the spots are tiny. If you come after 7pm, good luck finding one. In a period of about 3 months someone tried to steal my motorcycle, only the dead battery saved it from being gone, they broke into my car (smashed window) The surveillance cameras are a joke. They couldn't find any footage of the criminals. There is convienece fee to pay utilities online. Not a bad place to live if you can afford it. Only drawback for me is that I'm always worried about my cars at night. I've got two or three door dings on my new car and the theft thing. read more

I lived in this community for two years, and finally moved out in mid July after learning of a second major rent increase and observing deteriorating management. I don't usually give such bad reviews, but I would strongly recommend people to look elsewhere. This has been the worst rental experience I've ever had. First, the rent dramatically increases every year, and it goes up by a lot ($120/month the first year, $100/month the second year). It's owned by a big real estate company (H.G. Fenton), so it's not a very humanistic management team. The staff is "fake" friendly...especially when you move in. When you're moving out, not so much. So be prepared with legal resources if you want to get your deposit back. The maintenance team was nice and responsive to minor requests and sprayed every year for black widows, but issues such as a broken heater took two weeks to fix. I know we live in San Diego, but it was COLD in there! Aesthetically, the complex needs some work, as well. It's been half-painted for about a year now and the management has said they're still getting bids from painters, but in the meantime it looks like low-income housing. (Embarrassing if you are having friends over.) Also, it's right next to the highway, so be prepared for the noise. Some people don't mind that, but it was annoying to me. Finally, there's very little attention paid to the apartments lower on the hill...my neighbor left his garbage outside of his door for days and I've requested that the apartment wash the shared landing area, and they never did so while I was living there. Oh, and guest parking is impossible at times because some renters have multiple cars or very large cars that take up more than one space. When it comes time to renew your lease, the management team only gives you three days (that's right THREE days) to review the new rent rate and decide whether you're moving or not. Otherwise they will charge you for every day you are still contemplating your decision. I actually had negative days because I didn't receive the letter until closer to mid-month. This is when the big real estate company mentality is at its worst. There is no negotiation or friendliness...zero. Overall, this place is more palatable when you are a brand new tenant...which is why you'll notice that most of the positive reviews are coming from new tenants. Just keep in mind that rent will rise significantly and sooner or later you will be moving out. When you do, I can guarantee it will be costly and frustrating! In my opinion, there are so many better places and at much better prices to live in the Scripps Ranch/Mira Mesa area! Look around before landing at Scripps Landing. read more

I read some of the past reviews here, and must say that those reviews do not reflect the community that the place is now. The community did have its shortcomings. But it would seem that the management here keep up with the reviews, because most or maybe all of the complaints I read about here has actually been addressed. 1. Hot water is no longer shared and is readily available. This renovation was done right when I moved in. I guess I lucked out! 2. Yes, the parking can come at a premium especially when you have more than 1 car to your household. You get one designated covered parking and the other would be permitted parking on a first-come first-serve basis. The parking issue has been mostly resolved as the permitted parking is now actually enforced. The spaces can be bigger though... 3. Safety can vary of course. What I can say is, Scripps Ranch is generally considered a good neighborhood. I am glad they got rid of their previous security company "Carlson Security." I stayed at two places that used this company, and they do nothing at all and is rarely if ever around! But yes, they do use a another security company now that has more of a presence. As for the community, its location is quite good. It is close enough to the freeway and main road to be convenient, but quiet enough. The management and staff here are professional and always courteous. They are very attentive to tenants and shows that they take pride in what they do. And for some reason, the neighbors here are some of the nicest people I've met in San Diego! I think for what you get, the rent here is very reasonable. At first 8 years ago, I was very happy. But after the last 2 years, we can't wait to leave. The clean up gal is great but there is much trash and cigarettes and dog poop. Our gardener is the best guy. But we don't understand why only hire ONE gardener. He can't do it all. It's not pretty at all. My lease does not expire until the end of July. That sucks because we found the best place for us. Oh, and they say they walk the property every day. I don't believe it. So, despite a renter who has been here over 10 years, they won't waive or at least reduce the penalty. Hoping they will not give us bad references because of this. Even my boy with Down syndrome who when we lost our dog on 4/9 and he keeps asking me. We need a change -- and a new doggie. read more

WORST apartment to live at. CONSTANT MAINTENANCE. The office never answers their phones. I've made complaints about the washing machine several times and they've came by and did whatever to the machine but never fixed it. It's still broken. The kitchen sink leaks underneath where there's an electrical outlet. (Potential FIRE hazard) At random times the water will not heat up. I've had BROWN WATER come out of the bathroom tub spout for about an hour. There's absolutely no extra parking in the parking lot if you and your spouse have two vehicles which most families do. My husband and I lived here for a little over 4 years with our dog. I will give my honest review, We really enjoyed living here, we did not know which apartment we'd move into when we first arrived as we were moving from out of state and we were very happy with the one we got. They allow dogs including Huskies and GS. They do charge pet rent. Price The rent is slightly higher than other apartments around the area. However, in my opinion it is worth the facilities. We also liked that the buildings were only two stories, less noise and people to deal with. It felt more like a condo. Giant apartment complexes around charge the same or more. Rent increases were very reasonable every year. In my opinion, utilities were slightly high for the usage. I believe the water and sewer base charges are based on the buildings usage so it may be why. Electricity was not bad considering we used A/C most of the time in the summer. Facilities The apartments are older but very well maintained. In the years we were there, they always painted, and fixed things every year. Buildings have good insulation, couldn't hear any neighbors next door. They updated most A/C units. The in unit washer and dryer are also older but they work just fine. Our washer broke and they replaced it immediately. The pool, BBQ area and Gym are always spotless. They have a nice hangout area. The gym is small but great for basic workouts. The landscaping is always very well kept, honestly we were surprised at how well it was kept considering there's so many dogs living in the complex. They always plant new flowers. I never saw a single bug when I was there. We were on the second floor so that may have helped but they do a great job with extermination. Administration and community The leasing office was great the whole time we lived there. Candice the community director is super responsive and professional. We had small issues with other residents that were dealt with right away. 4 years of living there, we certainly had maintenance requests. They always addressed requests within a few days. We had a small leak one time after hours and the maintenance guy got there within an hour. Maintenance staff is very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. The community is great! The leasing office always puts on small events and we got to know many neighbors. Sounds cliche but we ended up befriending a few people we got very close to and still keep in contact with. People like living there and stay for years. Pros Excellent community , friendly neighbors Professional and friendly service from the leasing office Maintenance is quick and attentive. Good pool and BBQ facilities Rent increases are super reasonable Quiet community Dog friendly Cons Parking is very limited and spots are small. If someone parked in your covered spot, residents were not able to order a tow. However, I think that may have changed and residents can now tow unauthorized people out of their covered spots. They do enforce resident parking. There is no street parking nearby. Utilities are slightly high for a 1bd with 2 people. Overall we loved it and moved because we bought. read more

I have lived here for about four months now and I absolutely love it! The apartments are in a great location, far enough away from the freeway so that you don't need to hear any of that extra noise, but close enough so that you can get to where you need to go quickly. The pool and the spa really caught out attention by how well maintained it remains at almost every hour of the day, always clean and at the perfect temperature to make everything very comfortable, I rarely see the pool crowed except for the really hot days. The front office staff is amazing and always helpful and energetic, willing to make sure that everyone's home is just how they need it. Maintenance guys have arrived quickly and help fix the problem right away. We had a blown porch light and the maintenance guys needed a new bulb and we had one the next day which he installed. I would say the some downfalls that we have encountered with is, that there could have been a little more insulation in the walls. Sometimes the house is colder with chilly days and vice versa with warm days. Along with the insulation it also makes it easier to hear the people that live above or below you. Its not a huge problem, just remember that if you have a big dog or know that you have heavy feet I would suggest a bottom floor apartment to make everyone happy. The parking is tight and it does really depend on the time of day if you will get a spot close to your home or a little walk away. I would say if you arrive around rush hour it will be tough to find a spot or at least one that you can fit comfortably in. The apartment complex has defiantly taken notice about the crime issue that people were reporting and hired a new security team which I have seen doing roves multiple times a night and almost every day of the week (that I have seen). All in all, I love it here, the people are friendly even the other tenants. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay in San Diego. read more

I had a short term lease here and was really pleased with my stay. It's a really dog-friendly community, and they have a cute little neighborhood dog park. I once had a maintenance issue and they got an outside contractor to look at it on a Sunday after their excellent in-house maintenance staff took a look at it. Ashley and Candace in the front office are really helpful and friendly. They always answer their calls or return your call really shortly after you call. Also, the landscaper they hired is really excellent. He works hard nearly every day and it shows. The AC also works great, which is super important in the summer. The cleaning fees that I paid when I moved out are also way lower than the amount I would've paid for my own service, which I really appreciated. read more

It is a very quiet complex(and we live next to the pool) It is pricey, however you definitely get what you pay for. The complex grounds are very clean, flowers everywhere smell so good! They host events such as brunch, happy hours, holiday events, wine & canvas painting and it is always so fun! Anytime we have had an issue it is addressed right away and the maintenance crew is very nice and gets the job done. My only complaint is the water takes awhile to heat up in the kitchen sink. What we love about this community: * Professional and courteous staff /management. * Timely help from the maintenance staff. * Prompt remodeling and repairs. * No issues with rent/lease. In fact over the years we have seen additions to this community like better water system, good paved roads and parking spots, improved pools amenities etc. * The management organizes get-to gathers regularly. Its an opportunity to meet other residents. * Any time there has been large scale repairs in the community, the management has handled it very efficiently and systematically. No apt community can be perfect, there will always be minor complaints. But what really matters is how the management treats its residents. We checked out many complexes in this area and this place was straightforward with very helpful and kind staff. Ramiro helped us and stayed a bit after closing hours to accommodate my s.o. coming late from work to fill out forms. The location is quiet and well maintained, perfect for working people and families. I couldn't give this place 0 stars like it deserved, so luckily for them, they get a star. This place is a disaster. I would not stop the car - kind of like Texas chainsaw massacre. Do not get out of the car, keep driving. These people are ruthless and wicked. All they want is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. You have to pay ALL utilities. If something is wrong, don't bother calling maintenance because they won't fix it or do a thing. My unit was a disgusting mess when I moved in. Did they care???? NO! My apartment had a horrible odor of rotting eggs and dirt. The units are very small, there is no storage space and the layout is very hard to work with your furniture. I would not recommend this place to anyone, including Lucifer himself - he would literally kill me. Yes, it is that bad! read more

We moved in to this complex in October and love it! The staff and maintenance are quick to respond to any repairs or questions. It's in a nice neighborhood and within walking distance to Miramar Lake, Trader Joes and a few restaurants. The pool and jacuzzi are kept clean and there are two gas grills at the pool area. The freeway is close by so there is noise from that but I kind of like it because it provides a "white noise" and you don't even hear your neighbors. It's a very dog friendly complex too! So I've been living at Scripps Landing over 6 months now and I've been pleased with the service and the community. I'm pretty shocked to see such low ratings and I feel the place isn't getting a fair shake based on these comments. The maintenance staff has been helpful when needed and I did need them to fix a few things in my apartment nothing major though. They are pretty active with general maintenance to the complex too. Every few weeks for the past few months its new this and new that! The place never looks trashy aside from the slight mess maintenance in progress can make which is nothing to be upset about since its an improvement. The hot water is kinda slow but the issue is being addressed as we speak. So thankfully I wont be wasting water for the shower to warm up. The office staff is extremely courteous and they do go out of there way to make sure things are good. A co-worker of mine also lives in the complex and is pretty happy with it. At the least stop by the place to take a look for yourself and meet the nice staff the place sells itself. read more

I don't know what's up with this place. The first time we came, the doors were locked and it had a sign on when they'll be back. A younger couple was waiting in front and said they had an appointment earlier in the hour and thought it strange that no one was there. This same instance happened to me today. I had an appointment at 4 and the sign said they'd be back at 4:35. I didn't want to wait but my boyfriend persuaded me so we stayed. We stayed a little bit after 4:35 and just left. What's the point of having appointments? Or at least call me to tell me it might be delayed. Ridiculous. read more

I moved here in early December. The staff has been absolutely wonderful, especially Andrea! I've had a few repair issues with my apartment, and everything has been promptly addressed. The grounds are always well kept. I live in the gated part of the community which is a bonus, but the only negative is that parking is hard to find for guests if you should ever have any. The apartments are well taken care of, newly painted outside, and the landscaping looks great. We love the pool and BBQ area too! It's pretty quiet, our neighbors are great, which makes a difference! We have a 2 bedroom, and the bathrooms are way bigger than other apartments I've seen. We have a big walk-in closet in the master and a very large bathroom. Also have a washer and dryer in the patio storage area, which is great! The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it isn't perfect. The kitchen cabinets definitely need to be updated, they're scratched, worn, and have holes from previous tenants. Our lease just came up, and our rent went up by $145/month. It wasn't worth it to move and find a less expensive apartment, but it's definitely a drawback of renewing a lease. We have never had problems with parking, after we moved in, they repainted the parking spots and made it easier to park. Overall, we love living here, and are happy to stay another year. read more

I would not even rate this place. First off the apartments share hot water heaters, therefore it takes about 5 minutes for your shower water to get hot and you have to pay your own water so your paying for many gallons of water that are wasted because your waiting for it to get hot. Right when we moved in our problems started, our toilets would over flow and sometimes so bad it would soak the carpet because we would be at work and come home to a flood, we called and complained and they sent someone about 3 days after the call to fix it and it never helped. Our dishwasher disposal/food disposal burst and made a water pipe burst. Neighbors complain about anything and everything and if your military and get a complaint the manager will write you a letter and threaten to call your command. A month after we moved in our motorcycle got stolen, two weeks later our brand new car got vandalized and parts were stolen. About seven months after living there someone tried to steal another motorcycle and management did not care at all and told us that nothing like this had ever happen, which was a lie because we talked to neighbors and they knew of 5 or 6 cars that had been either broken into or stolen and management knew about it. If you report something is broken or not working right the maintainence people won't show up right away it will take them a few days and then they never show up at the time they call and say they will be there. They completely lost an order to fix/replace our toilet. They had ordered the toilet and everything and did not bother to try and see who needed it it took me calling in to find out what was going on and the man admitted the paperwork was lost. When you sign the lease aggreement they make sure you know you have to get the carpets professionally cleaned but they don't tell you that you also have to pay to get the apartment professionally cleaned, even if you clean everything top to bottom yourself the apartment people will still charge you. This place was a disaster and I would never live here again. read more

I have been living here for about 4 months now. I think this place is as nice as apartments come without being considered a "luxury apartment complex". The outside and inside of the apartment is beautiful, I especially love the vaulted ceilings inside and flowers growing outside. We have a washer, dryer, and dishwasher in-unit, as well as a large patio and living spaces. The shared gym, pools/spas, bbqs, fireplace, dog park, and business center are awesome and always in good condition. The staff is friendly, from the people in the office, to the maintenance staff, and even the outside contractors. They put on a lot of community things like paint and wine nights, ice cream socials, etc. that are free or just a few dollars if anything. The location is perfect, near stores and the freeway (we never hear traffic) but also kind of tucked away from the main road. Another biggie is that they allow furry family members! Overall, Scripps landing isn't perfect, but is a great place to live and feels luxurious to me, even though it's not technically a luxury apartment. I've never loved an apartment complex like this before! read more

I moved here because of Kyleigh (horrible speller). She was professional and nice. Once she left and other management left, Davis came in and was a huge downgrade. He avoids any situation with bad news, or any news really. Multiple times I would ask him something and he would email me back with a complete opposite answer. He avoids discomforting answers all the time. I moved out months ago and he still emails me asking how the apartment is with maintenance even though I asked him to not email me since I no longer live there. The apartments are nice, but new management is 100% not worth it. Davis is unprofessional and does not know how to run a complex. read more

It's our first apartment so eh it's okay but neighbors here are fairly awful. Our upstairs neighbor has made living here Hell. He watches me leave every day from his upstairs window and repeatedly bangs on our ceiling with what sounds like bricks. Also i don't know if we just picked a bad time to move in or what but since we have lived here it seems they are always doing some kind of construction right outside our door. Today I woke up to find we had no water and did not receive anything telling me that that would happen prior to this morning. Rent is ridiculous here for the size of the apartment that is for sure. We don't even have room for a table or a couch in the living room! We have had problems with ants since we moved in. I've had to attack our home with bug spray. There have been some problems with raccoons as well on our balcony and when we called the office they told us we would have to call animal control that would then charge us $100 to remove it! The staff is friendly but not especially helpful. Pet deposits are extremely high. We have $800 on them plus the $400 deposit on the home and I am not convinced we will be seeing our deposits again unless we get legal help which believe me we will over that. I've called maintenance about our dryer that has not worked since day one and they have come three times and never fixed it! Ventilation is also bad and so far we have had to take down our smoke alarm in the kitchen because it goes off every time we cook or turn the stove on! Overall I guess it isn't the worse apartment in the world but it's not worth renewing your lease over. I'm actually hoping we find a way to just terminate the lease early! read more

Upon moving in, the carpet was filthy with black dog hair everywhere! The bath tub was peeling. We submitted a request to have the carpet replaced before our furniture arrived. They replaced the carpet that should have been completed before we even moved in. Throughout living there the office staff is friendly. It is when you move out, they charge you for absolutely everything. We are very clean people. We lived here for six months. For our move out, we are required to paint the walls. This includes where any scuff marks or nail holes in the wall. After scrubbing the place from top to bottom, we were charged a fee of $65 for carpet cleaning, $30 for additional painting, which included scuff marks on some of the base boards, and a $100 dollar cleaning fee!! Leaving us with next to nothing. Why did we even waste our time cleaning a single thing? We spent an entire day wiping baseboards and even cleaning out the cracks on the sliding glass door. Additionally, the parking places are so small! The passenger had to hop out before parking. Otherwise, good luck getting out of your car! The hot water takes about five minutes to get warm/hot. We wasted so much water just waiting for it to heat up before taking a shower, washing dishes, or washing our hands with just warm water. The new security they hired seems to not be good for anything. I came home to find someone's belongings strewn around my designated parking place. I called the office and brought turned the belongings in. Why didn't their security notice bags strewn around the parking lot as if someone was robbed. They also do not monitor who parks their cars in the visitors places. While they give a parking pass to place in your window it is pointless. We had one truck that a lady rarely even started and was just left parked right outside our door. What is the point of the parking passes, that they will charge 50 dollars to replace, if parking is not regulated? I do not recommend moving here. The girls in the office seem to just put on an act of friendliness and even asked us for a yelp review. I'm glad we are now home owners and will never have to look back at Scripps Landing. read more

We have had a wonderful living experience at Scripps Landing. Every aspect has been above expectations. The staff is amazing, every one we have been in contact with has been exceptional. The grounds are clean and kept up every day, parking is just fine with Newley widened spaces! If there is any suggestions the management takes them into account and usually does act on the things that are suggested. These staff members are so genuine and we are sad to leave. If we didn't have to move a cross country for a job, we would be staying long term. Our check out was seem less just like our living experience. I've lived here for 4 years after selling a home in Scripps Ranch. I thought it would be temporary but I've stayed this long because it's almost like being on vacation, not having to maintain a roof, a yard, etc. The units are well designed and the neighbors are great. The exterior was painted last year and looks nice. In the past year or so, they've changed landscape maintenance contractors and the landscaping (which used to be of resort quality) has gone downhill in some places and there will be pieces of trash on the ground for a couple of days, which never would have happened before. The yearly $120+ rent increases have resulted in quite a few long time residents moving, which gives the place a more transient feel than in the past. They put in a dog park in the lower area which isn't maintained at all and looks terrible. Two years ago I would have given 5 stars but they really need to get back to what made this location so great in the past. read more

Very nice and pleasant environment. The staff, particularly Andrea and Kyleigh, have been fabulous. The maintenance crew is very good. They have always responded promptly to our requests. I must say, at times, it can be challenging to find a parking spot and some are quite narrow. But it is a quiet environment though close to the freeway. Close enough for easy access, far enough away, sleep and relaxation are not a problem. Highly recommended. As for the rental price, it is in tune with the market rate. read more
