January 2024: Southern food in the heart of Covington GA. Tastes like grandma's food. If you came to Covington and it wasn't for the vampire tv show high five! The lines at the restaurant featured in the show was huge so we walked around town and found this place. Food was ok, diner style. We got the country fried steak with gravy and it was a Saturday so we got some of the veggies of the day: potato salad, fried green tomatoes, Mac and cheese, green beans and yams. Food came with cornbread and a roll. It was my very first time trying fried green tomatoes and it was too salty for me. I'll try it from another place but I didn't like this one. The service was good and the people were nice and I feel bad to say it but I didn't really like the food that much. My husband enjoyed his meal. We went in January btw.

What a great little spot! We missed breakfast, so we decided to have lunch. This quaint diner felt very nostalgic. The server was quick to sit our table of five. All of the waitstaff had a great attitude. Our food was the star however. The pork chop sandwich, fried bone in chicken breast and the country fried steak was soooo good. I wish the gravy had a little more seasoning but it was nothing that some black pepper couldn't repair. The price was very respectable. Don't forget to try the candied yams! We left full and satisfied. The location is right in the center of town and there were many cute shops to check out after eating. It's worth a trip. Fried green tomatoes are crispy and delicious

I go here numerous times when I'm in town and am NEVER disappointed!!! From the coffee, to the grits, to the waffles... you can't go wrong. I finally got to try the lunch as well and it was also amazing!!! Love the staff and all their dishes!!!

Staff very sweet and friendly. The food taste fresh and wonderful. My pork chop is perfect- tender and juice with crisp crust. They have coffee mate, French vanilla creamer, which is my favorite so I'm very happy I love this little place. It would be fun to bring my husband for a breakfast date here.

Adorable place set back in time. I had this place on my list for a while and I decided to go there for lunch. I found out that they close at 4pm and it was almost 3pm. Luckily I still had time to get a bite. They even took someone in for a sit down meal around 3:45pm. I noticed they do alot of take out orders as well. I had a bacon Cheeseburger deluxe and a sweet tea and all was delicious. The restaurant is offset from the town center but still in it so the views are limited. This allows for exploring the town center before or after eating. I think the place is family run and the service is great, I plan to go back and try more dishes.

This place was a nice find. It's homey and the customer service was superb. Reminds me of a spot where everyone knows each other. The food didn't take forever to come out. They have a fish option but it's only Tilapia no other option. There aren't many vegetarian options on the menu either.

The windows are tinted and the open sign wasn't on, but as I got closer, I could see people inside, so I went for it. You order at the counter, and they call your name when it's ready. They also have some merch for sale, which adds to the vibe. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Both hit the spot. Simple, fresh, and exactly what I wanted. The place itself is really cute, and the bathrooms are unisex and very clean (which I always notice). Staff was friendly and everything felt easy. It's also only about a 3-5-minute walk to the main square, but just far enough away that it feels a little calmer and not packed with tourists like some of the other coffee spots. Definitely a great place to stop if you want something a little more low-key.

I got a latte and two Americano for my man who was waiting at home. The coffee was fantastic and piping hot. The people at the counter seemed genuinely happy to be there, not just like they were putting it on for Customer Service or they were pleasant people. They also had a really beautiful outdoor area behind the shop with hammocks. Unfortunately, it was too cold to utilize it that day, but nice to know it's there! They had posted the following day that they were having an artisan market with live music and I was planning to go but we had to abandon our AirBnB unexpectedly due to a sewage pipe emergency under the street in front of the house. I would absolutely return to this coffee shop!

You can gain entry by using the backdoor garage entry or the entry near their patio area. Unfortunately, when I visited it was pouring and I didn't realize that the former was possible, leaving me to fight the rain once I found the patio entry. Foxtail is not a huge space but they offer a number of slim tables, barstools and two different seating areas with big, comfy chairs. It was easy to grab a seat, even with an 11am rush. There only 2-3 team members working, but they were all very nice and so patient as I stared at the menu with indecisiveness. The menu offered a variety of teas and coffees, along with a display of pastries and a number of sandwich options. After seeing that they served banana matcha, I had to see if I could add banana flavor to my latte - I could! So I started with a banana latte with oat milk + a ham, cheese and egg croissant. My latte was so delicious, I went back for a 2nd cup not too long after. My croissant was delicious as well. This is really a great place to do some remote work or to conduct meetings. I booked a tea party lunch session on the weekend with my friend, and we both had a wonderful experience. They also accommodate a vegan menu for tea party bookings. Our names were printed on the menu, which was a very nice touch. There is a large collection of teas to choose from, along with a detailed menu. They let you smell the teas from a tea tray, which helps a lot when choosing the one you like. The staff explained each tea and recommended flavors based on our personal tastes. They also introduced and explained the sweet and savory items on the menu. We had panda tea and hibiscus tea. The sweet and savory tea party lunch set was delicious and represented Indonesian desserts well. We enjoyed the savory items more than the sweet ones, but we loved the great variety of desserts. We especially loved the presentation. Everything came together to create a lovely experience and a wonderful girls' hangout time. The place is quaint and cute. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Her posture while pouring tea was very elegant. It happened that the weekend we chose was right before Valentine's weekend, so the restaurant was not too crowded, which was a plus for us. However, their lunch party sessions are normally fully booked and busy, especially on weekends. You should definitely call and book ahead if you want to experience this lunch tea party. 12/10 highly recommend this experience, especially for girls' dates. I will come back to try other à la carte items from the menu.

We tried the: - Es Cendol (coconut milk, palm sugar, pandan rice flour jelly): The more I drank this, the more it grew on me- a little reminiscent of brown sugar boba. We added jackfruit, but I don't think that's needed. - Bubur Campur (black sticky rice, pandan custard, sweet potato & taro ball, tapioca jelly, side coconut milk): I liked all the toppings, but the texture of the rice wasn't really my vibe. Glad I tried this, but probably wouldn't get again. - Kaya Toast: This was my surprise favorite, loved the kaya ('coconut') jam, which was on the sweeter side with notes of caramel. The bread was perfectly toasted, and the slabs of butter were complementary. Persimmon is also my favorite fruit, so points given for that haha. I may or may not have gone to my local Asian grocery store to purchase kaya jam the next day. Service was friendly and fast. The only thing I'll mention is that some of the larger tables had tea sets but nothing indicating that sitting there wasn't allowed (later we learned they have afternoon high tea most days). The shop is relatively small and was packed when we went on a Saturday night so not having 3 large tables available was a bit inconvenient. I'd maybe suggest setting up before/after hours, rather than when other paying customers could be using the space. Regardless, this was a unique experience, 8.5/10 would recommend!
