[ THE EXPERIENCE ] Mal's offers both fried & boiled seafood items and on our first visit we tried both. The FRIED CATFISH & SHRIMP PLATTER #1 includes two perfectly golden flaky fillets, six shrimp, fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. Excellent flavor in the breading of the catfish & shrimp, however, the coleslaw and hush puppies were just average, and the fries can be hit or miss. Since that first visit, I have come back three more times! Each time we were greeted by Miss Maurice, a kind, extremely hospitable and down to earth server that will make you feel like a member of the family. Service is unexpectedly fast considering she basically ran the entire dining room alone on three of our four visits.
