We're from the New Orleans area and this is our first visit to this restaurant in Covington, Georgia and we were very impressed. Not only are the staff super friendly, but very helpful in all ways. The BBQ plate was exceptional, along with the delicious sides & their complimentary soft biscuits. We had a wonderful experience and even made sure to tell Jessica, the manager, of how pleased we were with the delicious food and such a helpful and courteous staff. I'd highly recommend folks to stop in and get this neat VIP experience with great food and super nice employees in a very comfortable setting. Kudos to the owners, managers and every employee for making this restaurant as good as it is!!! Jim n nicks has good food, my favorite ribs of any chain. Today in Covington the experience was not great. It's the lunch rush so some patience is expected. But no sweet tea, no biscuits, no silverware and then food comes out cold. The servers were trying, some more than others. This food is not cheap, this felt cheap. Grabbed food from the drive thru last night. Ordered the half chicken, baked potato (without the cheese and bacon), and collard greens. The chicken wasn't bad, but I realized I'm not a fan of smoked chicken. I'll try a different meat next time. It was well-seasoned. The potato was perfectly cooked. It wasn't dried out which was great. The collard greens were absolutely terrible. They were so salty it made them inedible. I've eaten at the Jim N Nicks in Conyers and their greens were extremely salty too. I thought it was a fluke. Now, I think it's the company's recipe. It sucked because I really wanted them. I didn't try the muffins because I can't have gluten. I like that they have a drive thru. It's a new building, so it looks nice. Haven't had Jim n nicks in years and tried the new location in Covington. Was a little surprised at the setup. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you. Little weird but other than that the food was decent and the workers were friendly. Will go back. read more

I ordered over $70 worth of food and when I got home none of the sides (4) that I ordered were in the bag. I was very annoyed after my 25 min drive to realize I had been missing half of my family's dinner. I called the restaurant to notify them of their mistake, I was told I would receive a refund for the inconvenience but have yet to receive it. Very upsetting and frustrating experience!! I was hesitant at first because of bad experiences at other BBQ restaurants. I was excited about a location opening close to home so I thought I'd check it out. It's not a traditional sit down order restaurant, you place your order pay, they give you a number and you find your table. They bring your food to your table but there's no dedicated table service, someone may come and check on you but it's not traditional. The BBQ was was fresh and they got my order right. The employees were friendly, POLITE, kind and customer focused. I got my food fast and the restaurant is clean. There's clean restrooms and a cool inside/outside bar. There's free parking on the premises but it's tight. Overall, not a bad experience. read more

We enjoy our Jim N Nicks in Covington But, the last 3 weeks going into resturant at 7:30 pm. Greeted with just to let you know....We are out of Brisket, Biscuits, Chicken, onion rings. Coke machine out for several days only tea. Don't know what is going on. Went there again tonight same thing. I'm so glad we gave this a second chance. When they first opened, it was a big thumbs down. Longest wait time ever in a drive thru. I ordered a large fruit (quart) and Large Lemonade. I assumed they had to grow the lemons for the lemonade and watch the fruit grow also because it took 45 minutes and when the young lady came to my vehicle she asked "what you order" she had an attitude as if it was my fault that I was waiting. Minutes later she came back and said that the order was in the front. I also noticed that the workers don't know which part order belonged to which car so they walk to each car asking what's your order which is why orders get lost read more

Have eaten at the Jim n Nicks in Conyers many times. This new one is close to my home, so decided to give it a try. Very surprised! I was instructed to go to the counter to place my order. What the heck is this!? Looked around and only saw a couple booths. A few low sitting tables and a few high ones. I ordered and was given a number. I ended sitting at a high table in the bar area which was uncomfortable. After a prolonged wait the food arrived. It was ok. I like to be comfortable when I dine out. This restaurant did not accommodate that need. This restaurant is more geared for takeout not dine in. Finally word, Shame on Jim n Nicks, this is not up to your standards. I really like Jim N Nicks, but this location is run terribly. I've been in 3 times now and they're always out of something This time they were out of turkey (again) and banana pudding (again). I was also told they were 'out' of draft beer. Well not exactly out...it was hot because they just changed all of the kegs??? The bartender is lazy and won't make and deliver the drinks until you go up (10 minutes later) as ask for them. Then she acts as if making your drink is doing you a favor. Finally, the brisket was dry and cold. At least the food came out quickly and the cashiers and floor staff were polite. I wish I had taken a picture of our food, but our group was large and full of kids, so I just didn't think about it. We went Sunday after church and although there were a lot of people there, the service was great and the food was delivered to our table in record time. Everything was so clean, and the staff was helpful, offering drink refills and sauces every so often. We all ordered different items, and everything was delicious. My daughter's baked potato was incredible, the loaded mac and cheese would make any southern grandma smile. My salad was huge and the chicken was tender, not dry, something that can be a challenge when smoking chicken. We will definitely go back. And we did not mind ordering at the counter. In fact, I liked it better than the Conyers location where they take your order at your table. This one is just so much more efficient and fast. Glad they came to our little town. New build in Covington so we were excited to check it out . Very nice outside patio area with access to bar. But where it fails for me is the fast food ordering counter . Personally I don't like this concept where you order and are given a number, just makes it like a dining hall . Menu seems a little small , maybe that's part of the concept. Our food was ok / nothing special . Even with the limited choices for sit down restaurants in Covington we would only come here a couple of times a year. read more
