The food is super sweet, perhaps a tad to sweet, also they seam to be trying to take over some of our local favorites, the drive through one used to be a quick chick, and I heard the one on the square replaced a super cute local one. So I have to dock them at least one star for that. But the service there is amazing, the workers were super friendly, enthusiastic, and polite, and the library in the back is super relaxing so it's not entirely bad, so if you just need a place to relax with a coffee, then it's not the worst, but keep in mind there practices, and research it yourself. read more

On 07/28/266 I visit to pick up three bagels for breakfast sandwiches. I asked AS USUAL to have them sliced not toasted. I paid and waited for my order. On 07/29 to my surprise all three bagels were sliced and cut in half. When I call request replacement or refund. I was told that was how the bagels are provided (I hv made the sm order on numerous occasion) and never had this problems When I spoke to the Kitchen manager, Kristen RisCassi, who ask me for a pic of my order, copy of the receipt and what I ordered via email. She will discuss with the manager and provide a response. Well I am still waiting for a response. I see that customer sec has changed at this business. I had a caramel kind of latte (can't remember the name) and it was hot and delicious. Perfect for a very cold morning. I ordered the breakfast buns with egg and sausage that were not my favorite (totally my personal opinion). The bun part was really nice but I didn't care for the stuffing. Anytime I visit Covington I make sure to make a stop here for breakfast. The service is always quick and friendly and the ambiance is clean and relaxing. I like that they also sell bottles of wine and miscellaneous items. I always order one of their bagel sandwiches, vampire chai latte and desserts. This time I ordered the Protein Mammoth and Green Thumb Bagel Sandwich which were both very good. The Protein mammoth is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had and the Green Thumb is a great healthy option. The hummus is creamy and the carrots give a nice crunch. I'm disappointed that we have been all over the square at the different establishments and this is the first time we have tried Bread and Butter. It was Memorial Day and not much else was open that early so it got a little busy for a moment. The staff was quick to take orders and get people seated. It took our breakfast about 15mins but like I said they had a 20 people rush come all at once. Beverages came out quick though whether it be the coffee or the boba teas. They have some cool stuff to look at and it seems they serve growlers for different beers or that's to come I wasn't quite sure. The decor is really nice and creative. I do like that it is located right on the square and you can sit in the window or sit right on the sidewalk and look around. We both ordered a croissant sandwich that had a warm toasted croissant but the meat was chilled, they should have put the sandwich together then toasted it imo, but it was still light and tasty. We wanted to try the chocolate croissant but they were did not have any. They pastries do seem to be first come first serve and when they are gone they do not make more. The boba tea was tasty, you pick between jasmine or black teas, then you pick your flavoring if you want and then pick if you want the popping beads or gummy beads and the flavoring for those. We went with the jasmine tea, pomegranate flavor and kiwi poppers. We will try again to hopefully get that chocolate croissant! read more

We visited twice. Once in the evening and another time in the morning. The first visit was ok- hot coffee, good cookies. The ambience is stereotypical small coffee shop vibe. Food was 50/50. We had cookies that were great. I bought the chicken salad tub and it was terrible and I love chicken salad. I can eat nearly any kind, but the chicken was big chunks of dry rotisserie that tasted very old. The grapes and celery had began to turn bad, the mayo had separated and water was starting to form on top of the chicken. It was not cheap, either. Chicken salad isn't inexpensive usually and this was small shopping, so of course the price with be a little more. It was disappointing the chicken salad was no good. I had the drip coffee. The owner didn't know what blend it was when I asked to purchase a bag. She asked the barista who also didn't know and then another worker, knew. The barista was not friendly either time we went. The lady that the barista called the owner didn't get my friend's cappuccino order right- also, pricey drink. The owner also had to get help to take my coffee order that was pretty basic- medium drip coffee with steamed cream considered she asked did I mean a latte and I said no! She had to get the barista to help her put the order in. I would stop for coffee and cookies again, but I wouldn't purchase anything other than just the basics because of the let down in other areas. read more

Began visiting this place to study since I re-enrolled into college and have kids at home and a husband who still want me to be mom and wife at times when I need to be a student lol. I usually go all the way to the back where there is a room that has a lot of space and tables and a door that actually can slide and close. I'm in there usually with regulars that I see every time I come in and I come on Sundays.. some of them are working and others are studying as well. Prices are good coffee and lattes are good. I ordered a chicken wrap and it was way too saucy like unbearable and couldn't eat it. I don't know if that's always, (this was December 1, 2024) but that was that day and I never ordered food again so I can't review to the rest of their food, but I definitely get cappuccinos, coffees and lattes all the time and they are very good. read more

I know croissants are buttery in general but this one had the feel and texture like it was dunked in oil. It was so greasy. I'd say maybe the eggs were cooked in too much oil but I can't because the next issue was half the egg was ice cold. I promise you I am not exaggerating. Half the egg was warm, and half was freezing. How do you manage that? The manager was very pleasant and took it back but the young lady in the back apparently didn't appreciate it because the replacement was scorching-as if it was a sarcastic, "oh? You want it hot, do you?" And when I thanked her for brining it out to me, she just looked at me with a scowl and said, "uh huh". Now the young lady who took my order was pleasant as can be, but I guess I understand why the other one was in the kitchen. She clearly shouldn't be interacting with customers. Anyway, my replacement sandwich was definitely hot but still just as awfully greasy. So, full points for ambiance and initial service and managerial response. I ordered an bee my açaí bowl and I've never tasted anything like it. I've had several açaí bowls from many different establishments but never have I had one that tasted "fishy". Literally the açaí mix has a fish taste to it that was repulsive. I'm not sure if it was spoiled or just had freezer burn, which is likely because the açaí was completely frozen with a heaping of chocolate and peanut butter on top. They should consider making the açaí mix FRESH per order instead of freezing it! read more

This was a really good find. We were pleased to find no wait here while other restaurants on the square had advised us of THREE HOUR wait times. Bread and Butter Bakery remained a cool place to escape that insanity and grab some fresh made sandwiches and chill out for a while. We were immediately served by some friendly staff, and it didn't take that long for our food to come out to the table. I took the staff suggestion and got the chicken/pimento special. But on a croissant instead of a wrap. Holy mackerel, this thing was phenomenally good. Everything right about southern traditions like pimento cheese and sliced, roasted chicken breast. And the croissant was absolutely the right way to enjoy this gem. I want to go back for another, but Covington, GA is a bit off my beaten path. I find this bakery to be a great place to work and have coffee during the day. I have been here many times before and it is always nice to come here. The prices are right, you have a lot of good pastries and swandishes if you want to eat lunch. This place is located on Covington square, so it's quite easy to park there, except on Fridays and weekends when it's sometimes very crowded, but you can easily find a parking place in a nearby street. There is plenty of room inside so you won't have any trouble getting a place to work or just take a break in your day. I recommend this place without hesitation. I've come through Covington once a year for the last two years and both times I've stopped here these guys have hit me with a great coffee. I actually went to try the coffee house across the square on this visit and the overwhelming variety and jars of flavored coffee really through me off. I was going to try a pour over but pretty much everything they had was dark roast, which is surprising and not typical for ppl to get with a fancy $$ coffee like that. But I'm glad I came back to these guys because the coffee was very solid. My friend had a tasty looking breakfast sandwich and at some point I need to get around to trying the baked goods.
