Best food at the lake no doubt! And the staff is the best! Get the strawberry shortcake!

My husband and I decided to dine at The Silver Moon after it had been recommended to us by several people. There was a wait when we arrived, so he added our name to the list on the board and we chose to enjoy the outside sitting area while we waited. I sipped on a sangria while hubby ordered a pomegranate martini. My sangria did not lack in the alcohol department, but it was a little weak in the flavor department. Hubby's pomegranate martini was a better choice...a subtle sweetness with a nice alcohol content. Other customers commented about how strong their cosmos were. A few had to ask for more cranberry juice to make them palatable. Conversations with other guests and the bartender for the outside bar prompted numerous appetizer and entree recommendations once they learned we were visiting for the first time. From bbq shrimp and Philly Cheesesteak Spring Rolls appetizers to fish-n-chips, fried shrimp, and chicken tenders entrées to peanut butter pie, strawberry shortcake, and bread pudding desserts, everyone shared so many options that were "sooo good". Hubby and I ordered the bbq shrimp appetizer. It did not disappoint. Now this wasn't the same type of bbq that would be on ribs or chicken from the grill. This was a scrumptious butter, worcestershire, spicy sauce that was worthy of being licked off of our fingers and sopped up with the delicious crusty exterior, pillowy soft interior bread that was served with it. Definitely 10/10 would recommend. For our entrées, we both selected the option recommended to us by our fantastic waiter, Cody...fish and chips with fried shrimp. We both opted to swap the chips (fries) out for the parmesan cheese grits as recommended by a guest in one of those previous conversations. Again, all recommendations were fabulous! The fish and shrimp were seasoned and fried perfectly with a crispy but not over battered exterior. It was served with cocktail and tartar sauces and a coleslaw that was unique in that it had an onion flavor. It was edible, but it wasn't my favorite. I would likely swap it out with another side next time...and based on tonight's experience, there will definitely be a next time. The only down side was that hubby and I ordered bread pudding desserts to go. When we opened them later, they were drastically different. One was lighter in color and was delicious while the other was much darker and seemed like it may have been overcooked. The flavors differed between the two as well. After such a great meal and experience, it was a bit disappointing to have it all end this way. If possible, I would have taken off half a star because everything and everyone else was great. read more

Just went for the first time, best me and the family went to eat at silver moon for the first time, I have to tell you that was the best, savory meal I've had in a long time. The filet was cooked to perfection, it was like eating cotton candy, it just melted in my mouth. My wife had the same thing. My son in law had the 44burger, couldn't stop eating until it was all gone, then wanted another, my daughter had chicken fingers with fries. Our server was the best, friendly treated us new comers with happiness, and a great big ol' smile. Appetizers came out pretty quick, then came the that great tasting meal. It may not look like one of those fancy restaurants on the inside or outside, but it makes up for it with the great food and service. read more

My Husband golf team comes there annually to play golf in Greensboro ga! We had dinner here at this restaurant on last night, but rest assumed it was our last time eating at this establishment. The Food was terrible and cold like the people! The hostess was very racist! It was evident that they weren't use to eating with black folks in those sticks! They felt at home having those black waitress service them though. Also, It was evident that they have a black section for sitting in this restaurant as well. read more

I was at Lake Oconee for a wedding and my group was looking for a dinner spot on Friday night when we arrived. This spot seemed like a cute local spot so we decided to check it out! There's plenty of parking in the lot and there was a bit of a wait but not too bad (we were able to get drinks at the bar while waiting). The inside is very cozy and has murals painted and plenty of TVs. Our server was awesome, very welcoming and had great recommendations for us! I had the 44 South Burger but our table also tried the chicken tenders, fish and chips, bacon cheeseburger and steak frites. Everything was super delicious and well cooked. We also had a few beers and the house made cocktails were great. For dessert, our server recommended the Mud Pie which WOW!!! Desserts are homemade by the owner and this pie had a fantastic homemade Oreo crust, silky mocha ice cream, and whipped cream on top. I also had a Chocolate Kiss Martini and man, I love a chocolate martini and this one impressed! Overall,Silver Moon is a great spot on Lake Oconee and really brings the welcoming, homey vibes. This is hands down the best food establishment in the Lake Oconee area. What's the first giveaway? So many people know about it that it is hard to get seated on the weekends. The service is exceptional. The food is 10/10. The ambience is so positive. Everyone is happy because they are enjoying all the great food and drinks. The Silver Moon was the highest rated restaurant on Yelp for this area and it did not disappoint!!! We had a party of 6 and we were seated within 20 minutes on a busy Friday evening for dinner Once seated, we ordered a couple beers around the table and our waitress was absolutely fantastic with a great personality! For my main, I got the bistro steak fries and for the price this entree was amazing!!! The steak was cooked to my liking, the shoestring French fries were great AND it came with a small side of coleslaw which was also delicious. And because we could not get enough and our waitress was raving about all the homemade desserts we shared a portion of the mud pie and wow!!!!! Everything here was homemade and delicious and you could definitely taste it. Would love to try more things on the menu 10/10 read more

A really cool environment especially at the bar. The other general seating feels like a Cracker Barrel. If you're not familiar with this place, there is always a wait starting at 5:00pm and theres a waiting list that you have to write your name on the chalkboard for. If you prefer a bar table or even bar seating, you must specify a bar table versus bar seating to the hostess. There is a separate chalkboard for bar seating for just two people max. (Def recommend for date night!) What is really convenient is a nice outdoor bar area so that you can have drinks while you wait. The food is hit or miss, but the ribs, and fried shrimp are always a hit. Being from Atlanta and traveling often, I wouldn't recommend having a steak at this place. It feels very amateur and like something you could make at home on your stove with just a little bit of salt. They also only have one type of oysters, so don't expect smaller size or a choice in Brineyness. They are huge. Otherwise, it is a staple in the neighborhood and a must visit. read more

Of course it gets busy and packed and there is a wait but when you have a great place like this it's expected. It's cozy and relaxing. Ophelia and Cody are amazing servers. Everyone is here really! The food at Silver Moon in Eatonton, Georgia is very delicious! One of our Favorite Meals is a Dozen Oysters On the Half Shell with a Wedge Salad. We sometime order a Meal but we first have the Oysters on the Half Shell as an Appitizer. Oysters on the Half Shell are only served on the weekends, so that is when we go. We will be going there soon to enjoy thier delicious food! But guess what else we will definitely have when we go there? The Service is Always Top Notch! The Atmosphere while you are there enjoying a Fabulous meal is one of the better of any Restaraunt we have ever been to! read more

We have never had a bad meal here. Always good food. Go early. 4 PM or be prepared to wait. Put your name and number in your party on the chalkboard. It is a little loud at times as there is little to no soundproofing. Food is great. Service is great. This is Lake Oconee's 4+ star restaurant. There is No sign out front of the building. As I remember is is between Agee Lawn & Garden & the Sherwin Williams Paint store. They have some specials and a regular printed menu. Casual dress is fine. Lake rules apply. read more

Five plus stars for the food - it was devine and really, exceptionally tasty. We have driven by multiple times, but there is no sign, so we didn't know what it was - we actually thought it was a bar. A bar that happened to be always packed! We had heard great things about The Silver Moon, and saw its great reviews on Yelp. We'll, lo and behold, they are the same place. We arrived at 4:15pm when they first opened, after hearing and seeing how popular Silver Moon is. By 5pm, the place was really crowded. Jessica was an awesome, friendly, prompt and efficient server. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped shrimp - it was perfect and delicious. The 10 ounce burgers was a real treat, as was the salmon. Perfect fries, excellent cheese grits, and wonderful broccoli rounded out the meal. The prices are very reasonable. My one complaint: the swinging kitchen door squeaks so badly it sounds like you are on a ship at sea. I would love for it to not squeak on my next visit! read more

We have a group of about 12 that are in a weekly supper club. Last week it was our opportunity to go to the Silver Moon . We had been there one other time, but this was a different and larger crowd. The table was ready when we arrived and our guest enjoyed excellent service by Cody. he knew the menu he knew the process. Stumbled on this place as I noticed parking lot was full with all GA. Plates which told me it was a local favorite! Well it was Saturday and a croud were waiting out front and inside but being a single, I got seated at the bar relatively fast. The fact that so many wanted to wait for dinner was a strong indication that I was in the right place for dinner. Bar staff were super friendly, and I was considered a called a "newbie" after conversation and I introduced to the entire bar patrons, including the owner, who looked through the kitchen bar window to wave and say hello. Several couples on either side of me at the bar recommended several items on the menu and I went with the fish and chips (shoestring fries). Food was served fresh hot and in short order. As an Out-of-Towner traveling through, I recommend this place as it must be "THE" local Wateringhole as well as friendly people & service. I wasn't disappointed! My dinner was great! read more

My band and I were in town for a show and we're always looking for a great local place to eat at that is not some typical chain type of place. Boy, does the Silver Moon fit the bill. Friendly local southern hospitality type service, great food and atmosphere. We liked it so much we ate their twice, once the night before our show and the next night after the show courtesy of the Sliver Moon's Ginger helping us to get our order in before the kitchen closed. We had everything from steak, Ahi tuna sandwiches, Halibut and more. All delicious. Be sure to save room for the house made desserts! They are all off the richter scale! LOVE IT!! It's been my favorite since it opened!! I take all my guests there and they are always impressed.

We have been coming to the lake for years and have heard how great this restaurant is. I have to admit everyone is correct the food and service here is top notch. We ate here on a Thursday night around 7:00. We got right in and got a table in the bar. The bartender came from behind the bar to take our drink order. Within a couple of minutes my wife had her glass of wine and I had my beer. Full service bar with a lot of specialty cocktails. A couple minutes later our waitress came by and explained the specials. We were ready so my wife ordered the chicken marsala and I got the salmon. Our entree's arrived quickly. My salmon had a nice Asian glaze with rice and broccoli. Fish was cooked perfectly and the glaze had a nice sweet taste. My wife loved her marsala which had a lot of sauce and mushrooms. It was a huge breast with pasta and fresh pan roasted green beans.
