I tried so hard to love this place. You really have no idea. In short, mostly mediocre food…read morecombined with one very shiesty action ruined the experience. I knew I had to stop at Cowboy's BBQ after I passed it a few times while looking at houses in Covington. Some of the best food that you'll find anywhere is often attached to a gas station. The good reviews and smells made me certain this was going to be great. At first glance, prices are amazing [more on this later...]. I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs, and smoked chicken. I chose fries and mac n cheese for my sides. The mac n cheese carried an upcharge, but this is reasonably common for places to do. I agree with the one diner who said the brisket was amazing. I really enjoyed the brisket. The fries were also fine thanks how are you? Wish I had more good to say about this place. The ribs were very old and mediocre at best. I understand that food can't be cooked to order at a barbecue place, but even barbecue has a shelf life. The ribs that I was served should've long been chopped into a stew special or something along those lines. The smoked chicken was a disgusting insult. At first, I thought I was mistakenly served an additional side instead of smoked chicken. Unfortunately, their service style is off the bone and finely diced. Storing barbecue meats off the bone is a delicate process. You have to take extra care to ensure that it doesn't dry up in the hot box. Unfortunately, no care was taken, so the chicken was dry and tasteless. The mac n cheese was very low quality. I'll happily pay an upcharge for the good stuff that's baked. I'll grudgingly eat Kraft mac n cheese. I will not pay an upcharge for Kraft mac n cheese. Honestly, all of this would've made the experience probably worth 2 or even 3 stars, but they have an incredibly dishonest, unadvertised upcharge for credit cards. The surcharge is definitely higher than their cost to accept credit cards. Some businesses eat the cost of accepting credit cards. Other businesses pass this cost to the customer. Cowboy BBQ uses this as an opportunity to improve their margins by cheating their customers.

they only got 2 stars because the servers were very friendly and apologetic for my sons meal…read more Only facts here. ordered chickens tenders and wings I asked extra crispy, i had my coke replace with water because no carbonation. Tenders came out before wings but only because she had the cook fry another order because they were not crispy , but still not crispy. Tenders were so bland and tasteless my son said he would just eat the fries, which he couldn't eat as well, took a bite of both, the fries tasted like old grease and the chicken tasted like fish. when she asked me how it was, I politely told her it was not good and told her so she could tell the kitchen staff so they are aware of it. never asked to take anything off the check, nor did she offer. while Getting in the car the manager came out and asked was there a problem with my food? So, I again told her the same thing.... Immediately she became defensive and proceeded to tell me how she changes the oil and the batter is separate from the fish and I was wrong...and I was the first one to complain about their food. Well, maybe I was the first one to speak up? Usually when people have a bad meal, they just don't come back, that would be me, but I really wanted this place to work because it is so close to us and wanted to give them constructive criticism. If the manager wasn't so defiant and unapologetic to my disabled son, I probably wouldn't even be writing this. shame on her, all she could of said was sorry you your son did not like his meal. if your reading this , I hope you learn from it ., that's all.

The decor inside was modern yet still cozy, perfect blend of home vibe with some modern touches. The outside still has that small time feel. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! I had the steak biscuit and I'm telling you this (definitely homemade) biscuit (so much yum) was the size of my plate as was the chicken fried steak! I ordered a side of sausage gravy to dip it in which I definitely recommend. The gravy was so delicious! My dining companion got the biscuits and gravy (tasting their gravy is what made me want my own side of it). We also ordered an appetizer of the cheese balls with marinara which was a hit as well. We also ordered some meals to go since we were dropping off food. I didn't get to try those but I did get a bite of the fried green tomatoes appetizer. These are the best I've had in so long, if ever! They know what they are doing and they do it right! This is the place for good southern cookin'

Five Loaves Cafe - A Hidden Gem Worth Finding…read more If you're ever in this part of Georgia, Five Loaves is a must-visit! This charming little cafe serves up some of the best sandwiches, wraps, and soups you'll find anywhere. We tried the Reuben, the Spicy Bacon Melt, and a Snickerdoodle Bar for dessert. While the Reuben and the Snickerdoodle Bar were absolutely delicious, the Spicy Bacon Melt stole the show. It's hard to believe something so simple could pack such an incredible punch of flavor. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the cheese was wonderfully gooey, and the spice level was just right--not overpowering, just a cozy warmth that tied everything together beautifully. The cafe itself is super cute and welcoming, with friendly, attentive staff who made our visit even better. We're already hoping to find ourselves in this area again soon, because one visit isn't enough! Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves a great meal in a cozy atmosphere. Five stars all the way!
