The coffee is fabulous, cheese danish delicious, environment very elevated, but the barista made us feel like we were an imposition on her quiet morning. She barely half smiled or replied to our comments and attempt at conversation. We went back again to give her a second chance and her contempt was palpable yet again so next time we wanted coffee we went to dunkin donuts and guess what the customer service was fantastic. First off, everyone in this quaint little town was spectacularly friendly and very customer oriented. Lucy Lu's sits right on a corner in the town square and, even though it's a small place, it has a big atmosphere. With it's high ceilings and narrow footprint, at first look it doesn't seem like it would have enough room inside to enjoy your cup, but they did a great job of managing their limited space by installing a nice long bar with stools, and strategically placing several tables near the door and in the window. But let's get to the most important part of this review, shall we? The coffee! I got an iced Americano with a splash of half and half and a smidge of vanilla, and my wife got a hot tea with a really weird name that started with an "a" (sorry, that's all I got). Anyway- while I'm a black coffee kind of guy 99% of the time, every once in a while (usually on vacations), I like to get something a little different. Since I had already had a few cups of plain black coffee earlier, and this was a mid morning coffee "snack", I opted for a sweet treat and, a treat it was! They started with a perfectly brewed coffee, strong and dark, then added just enough of the sweet stuff to make for a refreshing drink with a little extra giddy up to power me up for the long drive home. My wife reported that her weird named tea was delicious and she insisted that I try it. I can report that it was, in fact, quite tasty despite having a name that I still can't pronounce. The staff at Lucy Lu's were very friendly and helpful and not pretentious at all (like some of these gourmet coffee shops tend to be). The drinks were good and the atmosphere was nice enough that we sat in the window seat and enjoyed the charm of the small town of Jackson, GA while we plotted our drive back to the Coast. Overall, Lucy Lu's Coffee Cafe was very much worth the visit and I highly recommend it to any visitors to the town of Jackson (aka, Hawkins for our fellow Stranger Things nerds). read more

Quick review: After a few trips, I have notes... It's a really nice space with very friendly employees. Breakfast bowl with eggs, bacon and sausage and a biscuit is really good because of the sausage. It's a bit spicy and really pops the meal. Cold brew is good. Frappes are excellent. Duh, sugar. Can't say that the smoothies are a hit. Only one coworker likes them but the rest of us can do without. And it's got a good sized menu to run through on multiple visits. I love it when it's cozy and full of brightness. Right at the corner of the road, I can watch people and the sky. The menu is just enough to spoil me with caffeine, sweetness, and calories. I would love to spend time with a friend or two here. I like how they put the decorations upstairs. The team at the counter service is excellent. Super cute place to have a cuppa coffee. I searched for bubble tea, but they did not have any. I'm not gonna hold that against them. The decor of this cafe is super cute but the coffee took forever. We ordered a croissant and a bagel and they didn't take long but the lattes which was not a complicated order took over 30mins. There was a group of ladies in front of me but still they didn't look super busy or anything. I saw that a lot of the customers were waiting on their drinks. Great atmosphere for coffee... my mocha was delicious and the area around it is walkable with a few interesting shops. I didn't eat here but the pastries looked great (saving appetite for dinner). They also have a little doggie window where you can stop for a puppacino so your four legged friends get a treat too. My only negative thought is that as a bit of a night owl, I wish they were open in the evenings. Keep up the good work guys!!! read more

The two ladies working there were so kind and knowledgeable. They have A LOT of choices. Lots of other little quaint downtown shops around too if you have time to explore. read more

If you're looking for a wide variety of espresso drinks I strongly recommend this place. It is a quaint shop at the corner of a downtown square that appears to be undergoing some revitalization. The drinks that my wife and I had were very well made - not drowned in milk or burnt. Additionally, they serve their iced drinks with lids that don't require straws which is a plus since it's environmentally friendly. They offer a selection of food including pastries and snacks and a small assortment of breakfast foods. If you're looking for something new, and a quick getaway from the city, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

I introduced myself to the owner and instead of handshake I got a huge, hometown hug!
