This is a very well put together coffee shop. The staff and customer service were excellent, and the entire layout from upstairs to downstairs is exactly what I look for in a place to work, relax, write, read, or simply enjoy a good cup of coffee. I'm not sure if they serve food since I'm currently fasting, but everything else I experienced made the trip and drive more than worth it. My only wish is that they had longer hours, though I completely understand the challenges that independently owned and family-run businesses can face. Nevertheless, this is a phenomenal coffee shop that perfectly fits my needs. The ambiance is both inspiring and warm, creating a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I'll definitely be adding this spot into my regular coffee shop rotation, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great atmosphere and experience. read more

I didnt have any expectations; I was just going in to get a cup of coffee. One stepped inside, and my whole mood changed. It changed so much that I instantly said I'm going to sit and have my coffee. I walked up to the coffee bar, not a plain counter, and ordered my coffee and a huge-sized banana nut muffin. My mind started to relax as I walked around, waiting on my order, admiring my first real authentic coffeehouse. I have never been in an intimate coffee space like Safehouse Coffee. There are two levels; the first floor is gorgeous, with plants and beautiful pictures on the wall. There are bookcases, too. I chose to go upstairs and sit in a corner in a black chair with low lights, sipping on the smoothest latte and listening to what I'm sure was the blues. I like that there are a lot of single chairs for people like me, who often come to coffeehouses alone. I scanned the room and spied a guy sitting in the corner, relaxing like me. It's such a relaxing vibe; you can tell it is a fun place, too. I can't wait to return, but this time, I'm going to check out the evening vibe of this place. read more

My wife and I love a good cup of cappuccino. I have my own machine and buy esspresso beans from the best sources. Safehouse has a smooth and non acidic esspresso bean. The have an esspresso machine made in the USA that delivers the perfect shot. Its worth the drive to have the best cup of cappuccino. read more

One of my favorite coffee shops. My mom and I came here a few days after my dad died, we are both all tore up. We talked to the worker and she told us, "we are a safe place. I base a good coffee spot on their cold brew because that's all I drink. Cold brew is not the same as iced coffee, and this spot has a great understanding and appreciation of that (their website say that the coffee steeps for 8 hours and then chilled). They are always consistent with their coffee quality and friendly service. Only lacking a little with a good selection of food options. Very cool ambience in the place- The interior has nice mix of uniquely vintage and eclectic decor, as well as some interesting art work displayed on the walls. It's a quiet place to read and enjoy a latte or sit and chat with friends. The coffee was good, but the staff is deeply afraid of milk. I ordered a large coffee and usually take my coffee with milk and sugar. You get to take packets of stevia but they hold the milk hostage and look at you like you are from a different planet. On their website they state: "Cream and Sugar is offered as a complimentary addition with each order and will be served without attitude." I found this to be a lie. Spent 90 minutes in Safehouse this week. I ordered a mocha which was beautiful and delicious. Went back for a blueberry muffin which I shared with friends and a cup of decaf, which was a pour over. It took awhile for the pour over but I must say it was worth the wait. It was a fantastic cup of coffee. The owners are on site working daily to make their business great. I like the atmosphere here. Definitely one of my, and every other local's, favorite places to visit. Has a very relaxed and woodsy vibe - lots of unique seating areas and faded lighting. It's one of the only "cool" places in Griffin, so be prepared to see the same hipsters outside on a day to day basis. Coffee is a little expensive (in the 4 to 6 dollar range) but it's beyond delicious. You can definitely tell that it's quality coffee, much better than anything you'd get from a Starbucks. Coffee is sourced through Guatemalan based 'Thrive Coffee', which benefits local farmers and harvesters in that specific area, instead of it being outsourced. Owner is very eco-friendly. Though it's definitely a hipster joint, it's not too pretentious or overwhelmingly ironic or quirky. People from all demographics pass through here. My signature order is the hot caramel latte, sweetened with a little sugar. Always nicely steamed and foamy. Definitely get it 'for here'. read more

The barista's seemed legitimately annoyed to be at work and were fairly rude to a group of kids in front of us in line who were taking their time deciding what they wanted to drink.
