I was looking for a coffee shop close enough to me and I'm glad this was the closest because it was exactly what I wanted. I was looking to enjoy a much needed solo date and this was a 10/10. The place had a chill atmosphere with plenty seating. Calm vibes, mid lighting, low volume instrumentals playing. Ideal for working, studying or a solo date. I ordered an iced caramel latte and a charcuterie board for 1 (Just a Taste) and it was very tasty. There's a small boutique and a wine wall as well. I plan to visit again soon. read more

What a cute unique little coffee shop! We went in and we were greeted with phenomenal service. We asked the woman behind the counter for recommendations since this was our first visit and she recommended two coffees that were perfect. This was my first time here a friend told me to check it out because I love charcuterie and coffee. This was located inside a building where there was also a salon and wine bar. I will definitely be back to check out the other businesses. I was greeted as soon as I entered and was looking at the menu. The young lady taking my order was patient with me as the menu was a little overwhelming for my first time. she went over the different cheese and meat that they had available for the charcuterie for one that I ordered. My iced vanilla latte made with oat milk came out fast and was pretty good and my charcuterie looks amazing but did take a little longer to get as it was made to order. read more

There coffee is great and consistent. I get the white chocolate mocha every time!! You can taste the coffee and have a hint of sweet taste. My apologies, I'm happy to speak with you directly. I thought one of your workers was the owner. I have the same issue with the same person. Poor customer service each and every time. On one occassion, after checking for my coffee before a conference call, Karen tells me it'll be right out and cuts her eyes. Then, after an unusually long wait, she calls my order back to back when I didn't jump up to get my coffee. She knew I was on a zoom before she called me. Then, brings it over facetiously with a phony, backhanded "you have a nice day." Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. People buy PEOPLE before any products of service. You respect the community you serve or you don't. Hold your greeters, servers and staff accountable. I'll go today and give an update. I mean, who doesnt LOVE their barrister these days!? I don't go to Starbucks for the flavor, I love the people- especially the retirees who greet me and check in. Java & Brie, I hope you show more love...not just attitude. There is never a line, and when there is, its because no one showed up to open at 8am. Do not wait for a greeting...no, hello or thank you for coming....just straight to, we'll be right with you..even if it's the same one who doesn't make good drinks. Inconsistent lattes and sandwiches. Never tastes the same. The first and only time, I shared with the server how spectacular the avocado toast and latte was. From that first time, its been meh at best. And, I've given them several chances. Today, I'll update the review or not go back. For example, one day you get a healthy amount of avocado and micorgreens, other times, it's mediocre at best and a step above Dunkin. Inconsistent openings [CORRECTION: not closures] with front staff. Either way, I'm thankful its in our community, but really wish the Owners would spend more time working on SOPs for excellent service instead of defending, deflecting and making excuses for staff or copping an attitude and telling us to find a new coffee spot. read more

The women at the register was very nice and patient with me. However, I explicitly said I wanted espresso with a SPLASH of milk, and put emphasis on splash. She rung me up for a whole latte. Why have the espresso option of I can't order it?? I'm not sure if she thought I was trying to cheat the menu or something? I literally just wanted a splash. She could've charged me for a cortado I wouldn't even be upset but a latte is exactly what I did not want. So I ended up paying more for a drink I did not want. I did not ask for a remake because they were busy and it's not the barista's fault, she just followed instructions. And $14 for a cold half sandwich is crazy. read more

The atmosphere of this cafe is lovely, always one to appreciate a good and versatile space. Staff came off as friendly at first. Ordered a large drink (chai, not sure if the mix comes premade with cinnamon but this is probably the most cinnamon heavy chai ive had, made my mouth feel strange) and an avocado toast (the Green Goddess one - absolutely fantastic and delicious). Tipped as well of course. I received my drink and saw that it seemed small so I asked the barista if the size was a large and she stated that the order said small so she made a small one. I know this was likely a misclick of a button but there was no solution brought up. Small vs large isnt a big deal but as someone who has worked as a barista for many years, I always try to correct something if a customer has any sort of issue. I wouldve been fine refunding the small and repaying for a large and for them to just add the small size and more ingredients into the larger cup. When my food was finished, it was brought out to the counter and put down a little aggressively. (not a full slam, but it wasnt placed down gently either). I really dont think any of this was intentional but it does make me feel unwelcome in the environment, and for such a nice space I wouldve liked a better service experience. read more

Breakfast is served all day and there was plenty to pick from between that and their lunch menu. The prices are very reasonable and the food was good! I stumbled across this cute establishment while looking for a coffee shop in the area. Location is great with ample parking. I was greeted by friendly staff eager to go over items available on the menu. They offer a selection of coffee, teas, and complimentary self serve infused water. The lunch special for the day was a grilled cheese panini with tomato soup. I opted out of the soup. Instead, I added a charcuterie board for one. The charcuterie boards are made to order with 3-4 meats to select from and a number of cheese options with fresh and dried fruits and nuts.. Not a fan of goat cheese but the blueberry goat cheese is an absolute must try. For sure took me by surprise. Such a cute quaint place, if you're in the area I'd for sure give it a try. read more

Good place, fast service. Coffee was good - not super strong. I could taste a bit of the almond milk so I'd probably suggest an extra shot of espresso next visit. The real standout are their Argentinian delights, like alfajors. We tried some of their chonky cookies and those were so good. Super thick and full of chocolate chips and roasted pistachios. I've got praises for this cafe located at Fayetteville City Hall. I dropped in & met barista Fiona and Candis, the no-nonsense, busy manager who was training her. On this day, J & B's java was tasty, if lukewarm (but the 2nd cup was just GREAT), and a very wholesome sausage biscuit satisfied me to no end, along with what I think was a complementary grape jam. Java & Brie looks to still be coming together in an organizational sense but the manager just emanates positivity, with a work ethic that seems to carry onto others. Painfully slow, literally took more than 10 minutes to make 2 lattes, with no one in line in front of us. "Barista" didn't know how to make the drinks, doesn't know the difference from different milks, just not a good experience. Certainly due to a lack of training, but minimal training would go a long way. The setting is great, enjoyable environment. read more
