Oconee Coffee Roasters is a small, charming coffee shop that fits perfectly into downtown Madison. There is additional seating upstairs for anyone looking to settle in and work, and the Wi-Fi was easy to connect to, fast, and reliable. The staff was helpful and friendly, and they were actively roasting coffee beans when I arrived, which was fun to see and added to the experience. I ordered a chai tea latte, and it was a strong four out of five. The atmosphere and experience of seeing the beans roasted had me setting my expectations higher, for something that might completely knock my socks off. The chai didn't quite reach that level, but it was still very enjoyable. I'm going to give this a strong four stars, mostly because I reserve five stars for the best of the best. While this was really, really good, I have had better. That being said, for a smaller local town, this coffee shop does an amazing job and could easily hold its own against some of the best coffee shops in much larger cities. I would absolutely encourage anyone visiting Madison to stop by. Grab a drink and enjoy it inside, or take it with you for a walk around the extremely cute downtown area. You know you're at a craft coffee spot when they don't offer a variety of sizes or milks. No almond milk here. A previous roastery told me they don't offer almond milk because it doesn't showcase the coffee well (I disagree but I digress) so I had to have oat milk, which is incredibly smooth and creamy. I'm just not down with the blood sugar spike and all the glyphosate. Anyway, the coffee itself *chef's kiss* is so good. I wanted to check this place out while I was in the area. The reviews let me know this was the clear winner for coffee in the area and they were so correct. AMAZING COFFEE Can't speak anymore highly of the staff and atmosphere of this place, a must stop for any coffee lovers and even art lovers. The seating is also in a loft and makes for a very cozy place to study or just relax. I even bought a shirt on my first visit! The location is pretty small but cozy and it makes you feel at home, the decor was extremely welcoming I wish I had more time to spend there. Whenever I travel all across Georgia delivering cars or road-tripping I make it a point to shop local at coffee shops and eateries. This place has set the bar and made an impression I aim to capture at other coffee shops throughout my travels. The staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee was delicious and not overly sweetened which is very hard to find when trying out a seasonal latte. WOW. We love coffee and are constantly on the search for great coffee shops and we found this gem. Located in downtown Madison, Oconee Coffee Roasters is charming and cozy. My fiancé found this treasure and surprised me. It was a bit of a drive for us but worth it. The staff was extremely friendly. We learned the business opened in May of 2020 and all ingredients are fresh. The milk used in our lattes is from a local farm. How amazing is that?! I would highly suggested giving this place a try....you will not be disappointed. The location is great. You can grab your coffee and relax inside or go outside and walk around downtown. We were passing thru on vacation... I make a point of hunting down coffee shops that roast their own beans because I've become a bit spoiled. Once you've had coffee that's been perfected it's hard to go back to anything less. Oconee is fabulous! If you love coffee like I do, this place will not disappoint. Wonderful customer service and a great location (I enjoyed my cup cruising through the neighborhood and looking at all of the beautiful historic homes). Wow...I thought I'd had coffee before...today I found out maybe I'd never had real coffee. What amazing flavor! So fresh and so smooth while being robust. It's an incredible in house roast. Plus you will not find more hospitable hosts. The care that went into our lattes today was tasted in every sip. They do have a mocha but they aren't a flavor place. Why? Because they wouldn't ruin a good thing. Even if you're not a true coffee aficionado this is a great place to give it a try. But be forewarned you'll be addicted. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and head over. So excited we can take a bag of their roast home. They are located right next to the antiques store we love so it's the perfect place to rest after shopping and relax on the green or near the beautiful walking trail. We had never visited this new coffee shop in Madison, but it will now be our regular stop. The owner, Jin, was extremely friendly and made us the best lattes we have had in a long time. He told us they choose the beans carefully, grind them there, and showed us this fancy roaster they use. So, you can't get a better, fresher cup of coffee anywhere. Prices are reasonable, too. It is just a block off the main street through Madison so Google the location. read more

We got two iced lattes (one with oat milk and one with whole milk and both with sweeter tastes) and a cappuccino. The lattes were great and just what we were looking for. The cappuccino had a great design and tasted amazing. We also grabbed a bag of their coffee ground for later because it was just so good. Great service and cute area/town.
