The place has plenty of history and has been a social spot in Aspen for generations. The Old West vibe is still very much alive, which is rare in a city that has more hipster spots than anything else. My partner and I both enjoyed our cocktails. We sat at the bar, but there were plenty of tables too. Service was decent, if a little inconsistent. Our first server was fine but seemed somewhat checked out, while the second one randomly brought us bar snacks around our second drink (nuts, and they were delicious). Left me wondering why the first server didn't do the same. The cocktails are pricey, $20+ with a 22% gratuity automatically added to the check, but it IS Aspen after all. The local beers were fairly priced, which was a nice surprise.

Anyways, he still found the time to chat with us so that was nice. It's also open pretty late and they serve food late so that was nice since we didn't get into town until like 10pm. They had this really delicious fruity/sour beer that I couldn't get enough of! So good! Also, not pictured but we had the friend cheese sticks. Not to sound gross but that's my favorite thing so I try them everywhere and they were like a 9 out of 10 haha Some dang good, crispy fish & chips too! I would say they do fried food pretty well and have a surprisingly decent sized menu too. I'm sure I'll be back :)

Didn't bother to look at Yelp reviews , which we later regretted. The waitress came to our table and asked if we wanted anything. Our friend ask, "What is your favorite drink to make?" The waitress rudely and sarcastically responded, "Beer." And without haste turned and walked away without taking our orders. We walked out. This place is trash. Don't be rude to your customers. The clam chowder had more bacon than clam, but the flavor was delightful.

We ordered some east coast oysters, and two of the varieties had a very unappetizing smell. I have never seen this before. We could tell they were fresh but we couldn't get past it. So unfortunately we only had one type and returned the rest. They were very nice about it but it was a huge bummer. We also had the crab cake and branzino, both were really good, the sides were also all nicely executed. I would come back and give the oysters another try. Don't put paper on the tablecloths, either have white cloths or a nice table you can clean, this is a personal preference obviously.

While our server was nice, the management was terrible. We noticed that they charged us $4 more than listed on the menu for the bottle of wine we got. She came back and told us her manager said, "well it's wrong on the menu and the higher price is correct." Ummm, no, that's not how it works, so we asked to see her manager. "Vlad" the manager came and after we called him out on his shady comments, said he'd honor the menu price. Oh wow, thanks so much for honoring the menu pricing and for trying to make your nice young female server be complicit in your shady practices. Not planning to go back if this is how they conduct business.
