This is a very popular place especially the weekends. They were short staffed and had a fryer down so many of the menu items weren't available. Staff did a great job of dealing with the issues and made us feel right at home. There was a 30 minute waiting list when we arrived. You'll learn that the premium seating is outside with the river view. You get food service at the bar if the wait list is long. Cold beer and drinks, good vibe and great staff. Nice place after playing all day in the sun.

Worst food ever! No tarter sauce at a fish place. I was enjoying my time looking forward to this delight of a meal but when I ask the waiter for tarter she gave me an attitude and said we don't have any. This place is rubbish.

Great lunch place with stunning outdoor scenery such as the rapidly moving river. Food was very good and tasty as well. Had the fish tacos and fish and chips. Would recommend coming here.

This place is underrated!!! I think it's new but our server was excellent, his name started with a E. The chef did a great job with incorporating a lot of fish, salmon trout into his dishes. We started w the trout dip w pita bread it was delicious! Also ordered the salmon and shrimp pesto pasta. Very fulfilling. Had a good experience Thank you to all the staff, very friendly. We're visiting from LA and thought the portion and taste was on point for the price. More on the expensive side but that's every place in LA without the taste so we enjoyed our experience dining in.

I love the atmosphere of this place. The people serving and having the option of inside, outside, or outside inside. Yes, there is such thing as outside inside, you'll have to just come here to experience it. I was on a road trip and saw sign pointing to a cute little historic town and did not regret the stop. Not only is this place on the river but is surrounded by beautiful scenery with cute little buildings and a fly shop next door. Turns out this area is one of the best in Colorado for flying fishing and makes the name Tipsy Trout even better. Hope to one day come back here so I can have a beer by the river outside with chatting across the bar with locals on the inside. I had ate a bit before stopping in but the name made me curious and I was parched so I just got a small smoked trout chowder and it was good but not as Smoky as I would have liked. The vibe in here was welcoming and kind of like the show Cheers with the crowd that was in it. And that is how you know this place is an absolute gem. Be back soon!

Cuban Panini

We were looking for a place to eat after a long day skiing Snowmass and a friend recommended this place. He said it was like the dive bar of Basalt. I thought it was really nice for a dive bar. It's close off the highway, so easy to get to and has great views being right off the river. Plenty of seating and it has an old fishing cabin feel to it. I'd recommend the chicken fried steak sandwich or the fish and chips. The Cuban panini is highly rated but I thought it was a little dry and not very filling. The chicken fried steak sando was huge though! Very tender chicken inside a nice, crunchy buttermilk breading. The fish and chips are very good also; well seasoned, fresh and crunchy.

Service isn't great and the food is overpriced. On the river so it earns some points for that.

Didn't ask if we were separate so they charged 20% of 86 dollars and 2 dollars for a slice of cheese and 4 dollars for A coke.

Brick Pony Pub is the kind of Basalt spot that does not try to impress you and that is exactly why…read moreit wins. It is warm, unpretentious, and packed with the kind of local energy you can not fake. The burger with sweet potato fries is the move, the fish and chips delivers, and the menu hits that rare sweet spot of comfort food you actually crave after a long day. The real reason we will be back is the service. Chloe and Kendall were the stars of the show, sharp, welcoming, and genuinely on point without ever hovering. If you want a place with honest food, a solid pour, and a staff that makes you feel like you belong, Brick Pony just earned a customer for life.

I had "The Regular" burger with a side of sweet potato fries, and it was so good. The fries and burger were excellent. My friend ordered two big beers and really enjoyed them. We got good service from a teenager who was kind of awkward but very attentive. I didn't bring this up because I didn't want to bother him, but the menu clearly says that you can add cheese, mushrooms, and avocado for $1, but they charged $3 for it. I was wondering if I had somehow misread it, and that they charge $1 for each extra topping, but the receipt said the avocado was $2 and cheese + mushrooms was $1. I do not like a misleading menu and price discrepancies. It ended up being around $28 after tip, which was pricey for just a burger and fries at a casual bar.

Do not continuously touch your hair. You work in the food biz, & we DO NOT want you constantly running your hands through your ponytail, then touching our food. 2. Girl, I made 40% tips when I was a server because I was warm, friendly, & authentically cared about my guests. Perhaps it's just your personality, but you were cold, not friendly, & mostly ignored me. Your $$$ loss. Here are some tips to provide good service: 1. Smile & make your guests feel welcomed. 2. Do not ignore them for 15 minutes after you serve water. Please take their order w/in 5 minutes.. 3. Work on your aloofness. Be warm. I am an extremely generous tipper when I have good service. You made me feel like you wanted me to leave. 4. Check in on your guests to see if they need drink refills--especially when they are eating spicy food. 5. Your livelihood depends on your demeanor. Be friendly if you would like a nice tip. If not, you deserve zero! My food was fine for what Zane's is. But a meal is ruined by bad service. Warm, friendly, excellent service can make all the difference in the world when the food is mediocre. Let's do better next time! :)
