In the Joshua tree area the choices for acceptable food choices can be a challenge. So when I saw the tiny ponies smash burgers I thought that looks like a viable option... it's what ten years ago I would have considered a hipster joint . Today it's whatever the 2026 equivalent is ... ironic paintings, loudly proclaiming LGBTQ support ... chill hang, aloof wait staff etc... got the burgers fries etc... spent a small fortune for couple burgers after tip and tax around fifty bucks.. definitely good tasting, nice execution. Lots of character in there and some characters... would recommend on the name alone... it's certainly like elevated fast food, classic sort of Mac sauce, onions, decent meat. The chips that come with the burger "mid " fries are Ala cart and like 8 bucks ..ouch! But after a long day of boulder scrambling ... it's a very welcome little spot.

    Dog friendly patio was awesome!

There is plenty of parking in the strip mall here. The ambiance is very divey but also a super fun locals bar. Do yourself a favor and make SURE to visit the bathrooms! There is a dog friendly patio so we sat out back with our pups and ordered them puppy patties. Service was ok; since we were in the patio and it was a holiday they were super busy so it was understandable that we had to wait quite awhile for things (drinks, check, etc). But they servers all worked together and were nice. They grat parties of 5 an automatic 20%, but it's on the menu so be be mindful of that. The food was not bad. They had a special BBQ menu for the 4th, but didn't have the jalpeno cornbread so we went another direction. We ordered a $5 mimosa and the pretzel bites with BOMB queso and split the smashburger. All were awesome. My friends ordered the chicken sandwich and absolutely RAVED about how good it was!! Overall, this place is awesome and we can't wait to go back and sit at the very lively bar and watch some sports!

Veg friendly and funky, fairly priced, great location. So glad we found this spot, I had Korbel Brut Champagne and a vegan Bulgogi with tofu. Great staff, clean and eclectic interior. Plenty of easy parking. Fun stop!

We've been meaning to come here for a long time and finally made it. We liked it. Nice bar atmosphere, fairly dark and eccentric. Started with Smoky Mezcal Old Fashioned and roasted shishitos peppers with tahini spice. Lime and jalapeño cilantro ranch sauce. It was really good. Never had a mezcal old fashioned. The shishitos were tasty too. A perfect match up. Then we moved on to the main course. Wifey had the Caesar Salad with Flat Iron steak. She thought it was pretty good and cooked nicely. I had the 12 Pony Wings, 1/2 buffalo sauce and 1/2 lemon pepper. With celery and blue cheese dressing. Very good. Flash fried, not battered, the way I prefer them. They were hot and cooked all the way through but not overcooked. Service was great and I wish I remembered the name of our server but I don't. We'll be back.

What a place! HIGHLY recommend for great vibes, amazing music, tasty drinks, friendly and fast service, and some of the coolest art you'll see in Palm desert. The food was great, it came quickly and the whole staff was willing to help us out and make sure we were taken care of. 10/10 would recommend and will CERTAINLY visit again!

Stopped by the tiny pony for a quick bite on our way to our Airbnb in Joshua tree. Super eclectic feel of all the decor inside. Definitely a vibe for someone who loves cats (me). The food was surprisingly good for a hole in the wall restaurant! Burger was delicious and the shishito peppers had such great seasoning. The vibe inside was laidback and dark, definitely very casual. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere talking to tables near us and chatting about Joshua tree adventures. Definitely would return next time im in the area.

The Tiny Pony is an eclectic dive looking joint in Yucca Valley with "the best views of Shoe City" lol! Get the yucca fries (they're not potato). Love the duck nachos. Love love love the wild boar sloppy joe. They also serve Abita root beer. The Photo Booth is $5 and the pictures are incredible - dooooo ittttt! Great patio and also plenty of inside tables. It can be intimidating when they are packed but just walk in and you will find a seat.

small menu but the burger was enjoyable. i thought the patty could use more seasoning but there was a sauce that helped. wanted to sub my chips for tots but they couldn't do that. chips were still pretty good

Middle of nowhere. Seriously thought this was going to be something I didn't rate, so I didn't take proper pictures. If you are in this area and are hungry for good eats stop in. We were a group of five. Our service was good. We had servers checking in on us. Not just the server assigned to our section. The music is good and not too loud. It felt like we tried a bit of everything. Duck fries were good, reminded me of carnitas. Cauliflower battered and fried is my fave and they did a good job on that. Their bulgogi kimchi sandwich was also really nice. Steak and salad was a hit. I mean, again, I did not expect this to hit the way it did and missed taking photos, only snapped the nachos quickly before they were gone.

Besides the super slow service (which I don't entirely blame them for - it was busy and looked like there was maybe 1 main wait staff and 1 floater), the food was pretty decent! We tried the duck nachos, tiny pony burger, maple miso shrimp tacos, crispy chicken sandwich, and blueberry pie with ice cream. Out of those, the pie was the sleeper hit for me. Jam packed with blueberries and such a great texture on the crust. That plus the ice cream was so good. We probably could have ordered a second. After that, the tacos were pretty unique. The flavor combination was nice, and the crunch from the cabbage broke up the texture of the taco nicely. The burger was good as well, but nothing really special about it. Same with the chicken sandwich. Coming in, you seat yourself and water is self serve. There are bathrooms here, and there's a bar area. They also have a photo booth and sell some restaurant swag. Parking was tight, but there's also plenty of street parking.

Really cool local bar, kitschy velvet cat paintings and other fun art, excellent staff and management. Cocktails are great, if you're hungry I recommend getting one of the daily specials - any one of them, never disappoints! Karaoke on Tuesday night is very fun!

The spot has character with a bunch of fun, quirky decor. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night ~9pm, and it was packed. We were lucky that a party at the bar left right when we got there so we were able to snag those seats. I ordered one of their cocktails, the spicy picante, which was more tequila forward than my liking. For a tavern, the brownie cookie though was surprisingly good and satisfied my sweet tooth for the night. Service was slow, and I didn't feel like any of the staff really cared to check in or make the experience welcoming.

    Photo Booth $6 for 2

We came here around midnight on a Thursday, and the place was packed. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor area split between covered and uncovered sections. They also have heaters outside, which kept it pretty warm. If you plan to sit outside, the covered area is definitely the best spot. They have an amazing drink selection. I was actually really surprised they had Laphroaig. I also ordered an Old Fashioned, which was delicious. That said, the prices are a little steep for what's technically a dive bar. There's a pool table if you want to play, and they also have a Photo Booth that costs $6 and gives you two prints, which is a fun little addition if you're there with friends. The decor throughout the place is super cool and adds a lot to the overall vibe. It says they close at 1 AM, but they were doing last call at 1 AM rather than kicking people out, so I'm not exactly sure what time the night fully wraps up. The music selection wasn't really my favorite, but the staff was very friendly, the drinks were great, the atmosphere was lively, and the decor is awesome. Definitely a top-tier dive bar with a fun vibe.

As the night developed, more and more groups came in, ordered drinks and sat around the bar and tables with plenty of seating and tables available for everyone to hang out comfortably without being on top of one another. My only recommendation for this place when it does get busier, is that they have a designated ordering section at the bar where people can't sit so that those wanting to order or close their tabs can easily get to the bartender without having to awkwardly cut through people that are sitting there. Otherwise, this is a solid spot to hang out and have a couple casual drinks with a divey ambience and local feel.

After we sat down, we were handed record sleeves and inside were the menus. This was a new and different experience for me. They were also out of the Pan Seared Salmon and evidently, the Mojave Veggie Burger (overheard the staff member telling the table next to us this). I ended up going with the Mojave Gold Grass-Fed Burger, and my bf ordered the Steak Frites. The food was good. I really enjoyed my burger. The sauce was delicious, and the fries were seasoned very well. I usually like to eat my fries with sauce but these fries could be eaten on their own. As for the overall experience, it was okay. We ordered a total of three dishes - two entrees and one dessert. Our dinner lasted for almost two hours, most of which were spent waiting. It took a while for the staff member to come take our orders, and after we placed our orders, it took some time for the food to come out. The Steak Frites came out wrong; my bf asked to substitute the fries with broccolini but they still gave him fries. They did take it back to the kitchen but it took a while for the dish to come back out afterward. We asked for hot water but that never came out. We also had to ask for ketchup a couple times. When we were given the bill at the end of the night, there was an extra dish that we did not order on it. Of note, the restaurant was mild to moderately busy but definitely not crowded this night.
