This is really a 10-star place!!! This is the most amazing vegan restaurant that I've ever been to! Their food is absolutely delicious and the owners are friendly and gracious. for dessert I ordered their homemade tropical pie with vanilla ice cream.....FABULOUS! I can't wait to go back. My niece is vegetarian so taking her out for a meal during her visit in Coos County was iffy...til we found Tin Thistle, now located in North Bend. She loved every bite in the outdoor garden cafe seating which was nicely kept and sunny even in Feb. We took a separate order home for dinner later (hint hint - we'd welcome more healthy dinner options in town too) :) Mac N Cheese, Veggie Burgers, Sweet Potato Fries...everything was good and full of flavor. Brought Mr. Meat Eater along to try it out next. He devoured the veggie burger like it was the real deal, cleaning the plate. We've been back since, at HIS request. Looks like the Chef and staff at Tin Thistle are doing everything right. Neither of us are vegan or vegetarian and we've enjoyed everything each visit over the past year. That's serious culinary skill because our veggies at home somehow never taste like any of the dishes that come out of Tin Thistle. Outdoor patio seating feels like you're having lunch in a light airy atrium or garden, and the staff are ALWAYS helpful, patient and friendly, even with newbies to meat-less meals like us. Since coming to Coos Bay, I haven't found many vegetarian places to eat. This is one that rates the highest. The young women who runs the business is fabulous. The food is prepared to order, home made deserts, pies are awesome, cookies too. The food is nutritional and flavorful. Great location, highly recommend. read more

OK lets start with the fact that I've never tried a vegan restaurant in all my 45 years, but WOW i'm hooked after one visit. My wife and I gave The Tin Thistle Cafe a try today for lunch and were impressed with everything, from the service to the food to the atmosphere. I had the burger fiesta style with the spicy thai coleslaw (I could eat that coleslaw all day!) and my wife had the Gyro with Sweet potato fries. We ended up sharing both with each other due to the yummy sounds we were both making. Halfway through the meal we decided to give desert a go as well and got one chocolate and one lemon cupcake, again YUM! We will never again let the word "Vegan" make us thing twice and neither should anyone. We will be back again to try more amazing options. read more

Had to stop in Coos Bay while on vacation we were hungry for lunch when we found this cute vegan cafe. Husband had a portobello mushroom sandwich that was amazing. Potato salad was delicious best we ever had! Cute patio but it was kinda windy so we enjoyed a table inside. Wow! So happy to have found this gem of a restaurant. Nice, warm greeting from the kitchen when we walked in. Food was out of this world good. I ordered the fiesta bowl and wish now that I hadn't gotten the smaller one! My husband had the burger and sriracha mac and cheese. We both had smoothies. Didn't get a pic, but this is one helluva establishment. Stopped through for work and jus happened to wander into the only vegan restaurant in town. Phenomenal food and wonderful ownership, can really tell they believe in providing affordable and delicious food. I ordered one of their wraps (forgot the name) with their veggie patty on it, plus some soup with tomato base, incredibly delicious. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended. read more

We ordered lots of food: the fiesta bowl, the fiesta wrap, side of Mac and cheese, side of potato salad, the nachos, a smoothie, and two pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. We loved it all. I've gone in here twice and I just didn't like my meal either time. The staff is strange and semi uncomfortable and not the friendliest, also seemed confused by my order. Sweet potato fries are frozen packaged, veggie burgers served on huge white buns, seems like it would be a lot better on a healthy whole grain or whole wheat type bun. The veggie patty itself seemed to be deep fried?? and was flavorless. Tacos are gross, nothing to them but chopped up veggie patty. I asked for southwest style village bowl and the lady said "blackbeans"? I didnt know what that meant but I said yes because I wanted blackbeans in it but when I got it it wasn't the southwest bowl it was the blackbean bowl with a flavorless tiny dollop of some white cream type 'sauce', there wasn't nearly enough so I asked for more of the sauce for the bowl, she said "ranch"? I said "No, the sauce that comes with the blackbean village bowl" and she gave me ranch?? The bowl had barely anything to it. A couple of little onion pieces and some tomato. It was mostly blackbeans and lettuce. Yuck. Confused staff and nasty food. This place gives real health food restaurants a bad name. read more

Outstanding! Having just moved to Oregon from California, I thought it would be hard finding great vegan restaurants. I still don't know how many great vegan restaurants there are close to Bandon but The Tin Thistle certainly is one of the best. Their regular burger and baked sweet potato fries are delicious. The burger bun is grilled/toasted and the savory burger is moist and so very tasty. I will definitely return and also refer this restaurant to my friends. I highly recommend! read more

Stopped in off the highway on a road trip. Was great amongst the lil towns gilled with fish and chips do find a healthy option. Great lil cafe. Had soup and pie and salads. Very very good. Would be a regular if I lived here. read more

I settled into the town of N Bend at the end of day nine of my cycling trip from Portland and down the Coast. I was was totally floored by this place and it will definitely end my trip on a high note. Everything about the Tin Thistle hit the mark. It was spotless (even the restrooms) the service was kind and patient, attentive, and happy - and the food amazing. I ordered the Punjabi bowl and the crisp and spicy Thai slaw on the side. And because cycling makes me hungry and I love potato salad I got that as well. The owner told me the potato salad was her grandma's recipe, but made vegan. It was the best ever. I sat out back on their lovely garden patio and enjoyed every minute of my experience here. I left feeling great because all of the food I had eaten was so fresh and prepared perfectly. Great place! I'm vegan and my boyfriend is not. We came here for lunch and he had the Village Burger and I had the Punjabi bowl. Both were quite good. The cilantro chutney in the bowl was amazing. Everything tasted very fresh. We split a slice of apple pie for dessert which was also amazing. A hearty nutrient dense and flavorful crust made this a low-guilt highly satisfying dessert. read more
