I do not recommend the Plano location at all. Order from another location and drive so you don't have to face lackluster customer service skills. Product was sitting on a pallet and they couldn't be bothered to unload it, so my two hour drive to them was a waste. Michael at the Dallas location in the Design District is amazing and had a courier pick up the order to deliver to my doorstep to accommodate the dismal service from the Plano location. You'll find better customer service at a garage sale. Don't waste your time here. read more

We had a good experience with The Tile Shop overall. Customer service was great. The issue is with their list of Local Pro Installers.

I spent over $$$$ on tiles and supplies at this store. While making the purchase they were very friendly and answered all the questions and returned our call. Our installer (more on that later) ordered some items that were not needed and I ended up returning those items. This was back in August. Since then I have been working to get my refund and all I am getting are excuses. When I call the store, they tell me the manager is not there and will call me back. I have yet to receive a callback. Now about the installer - The installer's company name is OKI General Contractor and the owner's name is Lee J Hoff. This person was on the Tileshop's recommended list. STAY AWAY from this company/person. I spent $$$$$ with this person. The installed tiles are uneven. He caused damage to my plumbing. His team did not care - they installed the toilets and did not put caps on the screws, actually, they threw them away - they installed reducers in the formal area with small pieces. It took them over 8 months to finish the work. It should have taken less than a month. read more

We are re-doing our fireplace and need a tile border so our Contractor recommended we check out The Tile Shop and peruse their options. They have slate, glass tile, tiny sizes to larger size tile, subway, mosaic tile, etc. We walked the store in a couple minutes and were thrilled to find EXACTLY what we wanted for our fireplace. When we found we needed a few more sheets than the Plano location had, Rikki (Argabright) was quick to help us. She offered to call the other locations and find what we needed. She found the remaining sheets we needed at the Dallas store and they put them aside for us to swing by and pick up later that day. ******Things that impressed us; in the short time we were there two sales people asked if we needed help, and although we didn't at the time, we appreciated the space they gave us to look for ourselves. We were able to pay for our entire order at the Plano location even though we were picking up additional sheets at the Dallas store. They have a very large selection of tile with designed rooms for examples. My order came in quickly.

This store is super nice and fancy. I really like how there's a great selection on tiles. It's also neat with many model rooms for kitchen and bathroom to help you visualize what it looks like. BUT the service is horrible or shall I say there is no service PERIOD. There was only one customer when I was there and she was being assisted by one of the employees. The other 2 employees who were available didn't even bother greeting me or say anything. I walked around the store for awhile looking for tiles to redo my backsplash and no one came to help me. The store is small so it's not like they didn't see me. When I left the store, they look at me and didn't even say bye or have a good evening. So rude. Not coming back here. Floor and decor is a much better option anyways. read more

We visited this place at least 3 times. Rikki Argabright we there each time and always friendly an accommodating. Rikki spent hours helping us choose tiles and matching and working with the budget. Of the three tile shops I've been frequenting, this is my least favorite of the three. The displays are rather... Tuscan in style. I was told they will get a refresh soon but the displays, as I saw them, seemed very dated with their tans and browns. Though their displays are a bit dated, the actual selection of tile and stone is very nice (Carrera, so hot right now). So they have nice product, but I found the staff to be lacking. For example, we walked in and wandered around for an hour before someone approached us asking for help. We were told it seemed like we didn't need help, but in fact we did. I did try to seek out an employee, but were all busy with other customers at the time. Another thing that I did not appreciate is the lead times with our orders. We ordered some tile, and then the employee decided to wait four days before actually placing the order. He told us it was another stores fault, that they took their time responding to his request. However, when he was talking about the situation with another employee he mentioned that he placed the order on date X, four days after we came in and ordered the tile. The lying and attempt to deflect fault leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. If you mess up, own it at least. Their return policy is very nice, no restocking fee or anything. However this is a chain-wide policy and is not unique to this location. For our next renovation, we will probably look to a Tile shop for product, but we will try our best to avoid this location. read more

Did everything they recommended. Has my installer use their grit and paid for some kind of mixture instead of water. Now after 18 months the white grout is not only NOT white. I cannot find a way to get rid of the staining in it. Should have used water and sealer. Would have clean white grout instead of the ugly mess in my beautiful shower read more

BUYER BEWARE.....I have waited more than two weeks, to get my tile in. I ordered it on a Saturday and was informed it would be in by Wednesday. Went to pick it up and was informed the truck didn't make it and it would be another week. I called customer service and They had a store manager call and promise me the tile would be there Friday. Called before going to pick it up and no one knew where it was. Was told to call Saturday. Still no one had a answer or location of the tile. Tried customer service Friday , Saturday and Monday. Was told Monday a regional manager would call. Manager called and said he would get back with info later. I had to call him at 5:30 and he had no answer as to when or where my tile was. read more

Connect with Beth in sales to start shopping as she is very competent and informed on what is available and what can work for you. If you are trying to match the tile with some other color in the room bring a sample; it will help your selection process with Beth. I posted several photos which show just part of the store. They also have many sample rooms configured using different tile arrangements to give you ideas. Any unused tile pieces can be brought back for refund. So having left overs is a good thing. Great location for me so I would easily go back to buy there again. read more

Now that my projects are over - time to write this review like I promised. New company to Texas, apparently they have been up in the mid-west for a while and expanding South. This store is great! Typically my designed challenged wife and I take 3-6 months to make a decision on color or tile (our master bath...). Here - in 90 minutes we walked in and out having everything bought and a list of vendors. Don't know if the moon and the stars we aligned, but it actually happened. We worked with Chris to get tiles and flooring chosen for our guest bathroom. They have more contemporary tile options than most other places, and have a plethora of sample bathrooms constructed so you can see it in a real world example. They have a tile warehouse up in OK, so it only takes a few days (typically) to get orders in. Prices in the store can sometimes be different than the website - so shop both. Overall team in the store is very helpful, if sometimes a little disorganized - but aren't we all.... Absolutely great experience, even with the returns (even on most special orders - try that at other places). Stop by and take a look - hiding next to Costco (to the right). The have another place on 35/635 that apparently has even more choices/examples. read more

Amazing service and tile selection!! We only needed a few pieces of tile to purchase For a backsplash for our new vanities. While just a small amount, it was crucial that we got just the right pieces that would provide the pop the bathroom. Scott Riley Helped us identify all the new modern options and was so patient with us as we took our time to really think through what would Work with the rest of the bathroom. He Allowed us to take home samples so we can see exactly what it would look like in our home. This really helped a ton to help us make the right decision. Just tried to return the 2 boxes of tile and 2 bags of grout and was told nothing is returnable after 3 months. Funny I was never told this when THEY estimated the amount of tile I needed. Nice way to make a few bucks on the customer. After spending thousands of dollars they wouldn't even take back 2 bags of grout. Then he said if I was planning another project to let him know and he could work out something. Apparently I have to spend more money to get customer service. Absolutely will NOT be coming back to the store. read more

Rose helped me with my bumbling attempt to figure out how many tiles I needed, the correct bull nose to get and relieved me in every way about my purchase. I learned a lot! Customer service is a must when spending thousands of dollars!!! I was truly taken care of by everyone. My sales rep Cesar! The delivery by Mike bass was extremely easy. And when I happened to be short on my square footage order, after a week had passed and I even signed saying it was all their. It took Gage only 20 minutes to say he would be sending my 56 sq ft of tile within a few days. Hands down a great feeling!! I posted this before but now it is gone. Run from this place or at a minimum do not use their "preferred installers" list. Used one of the General Contractors and he was a sham. Used another companies name and letter head that he did small jobs for. Company did not even install tile. Damaged house and caused thousands of dollars in additional repairs - flooding, carpet, wall repairs, etc. They claim to check the people on their list out...as you can see the simple fact that the company he was using was false shows they do not. read more

He will earn your business through a dedicated service focused for you and your company he will work with your clients and provide them the best solutions and give you the ultimate experience and customer satisfaction. If you are a homeowner looking for tile this is an outstanding location to visit in the Plano area. Two stars is probably to generous, but one star is too harsh. On the positive side, the model bath an kitchen displays have always been excellent and the Plano, TX location just had several updated. If you are needing help with ideas for your remodel, there is no better place to go, unless you want to drive to every new home development within 50 miles. The available selection is better than the vast majority and they are competitive with most of the competition. Like most of their competition, you have to look at small samples and place an order that will take a few days to arrive. Their low rating is because of the sales staff. On several of my visits, well over a dozen, the staff ignored me totally. For the two visits where a staff member did work with me their correct information was specific to what they carry. In the first case, the person pushed the material they carry for shower floor and wall prep. My research did not support everything I was told. The second instance started off fantastic. They spent a significant amount of time with myself and my wife and 90 percent of what they said was accurate and very helpful. The other 10 percent was very questionable statements about their competitor, Floor & Décor. During our discussions I had mentioned that I'd visited just about every tile company in the area, but the only one I mentioned by name is Bedrosians, which hadn't yet opened. The statement about Floor & Décor was that their stone was inferior, seconds, ... . We were primarily looking at Travertine look porcelain and were only considering true stone trim, at the time, so the comment seemed out of context and got me thinking. I eventually went to Floor & Décor to look at their stone and the simple truth is they carry three grades of stone, clearly marked, and have a massive selection. Even their low grade is comparable to some of The Tile Shop samples, but at one third the price. The only reason for The Tile Shop to lie about Floor & Décor is that they are superior. I gave my contractor the option of my buying stone tile at The Tile Shop or Floor & Décor and they said they liked Floor & Décor. Floor & Décor won't even know who my contractor is, so the only gain to the contractor is the quality of material that I will be buying. Yes, my wife and I went with true stone. It's beautiful and thanks to The Tile Shop pointing to Floor & Décor it cost me less than the porcelain tile we were looking at. read more

Horrible customer service. I went in to buy some grout, the sales staff behind the counter looked at me then walked away. When I found the grout aisle a sales person in the aisle moved her cart but no offer to help. Finally, while looking at a different aisle someone asks if I need help. But wait! While I was telling her what I was looking for another sales person comes up wit a question and she drops me - THE CUSTOMER - to talk to the other sales rep. I watched in disbelief for about 20 seconds then said "thanks anyway" before leaving. My one Yelp review may not change them but all my realtor friends & family will definitely not recommend them. read more

As far as selection, displays and general awesomeness of the store this place is easily 5 stars. The people there are all really nice and seem to have a helpful demeanor. My only issue with the store is their communication and organizational ability. I wanted to give them 3.75 but there's not a 3/4 star option. I am a GC and I am typically up and driving around through out the day looking at multiple on going jobs, putting out potential fires, meeting with clients, setting up permits and inspection, etc.. Sadly most of the time I am doing paperwork and emailing between 4-6:30 am and sometimes again at night between 8-10. I usually email my suppliers first thing in the am with expectations of getting responses by the end of the day. The last project I decided to use them on I got zero email response after copying 3 different people on confirming expected arrival day for tile. On calling in to follow up to email, my sales person was not there and they had difficulty locating my order right away. Again, all very helpful people and a great store, just highly frustrating in the communication department. read more

The Tile Shop is the easiest to work with because of their return policy and their many examples of bathrooms and kitchens. They also have tons of different floor tiles laid throughout the store which makes seeing what you'll actually be getting possible. read more

Initially I was going with a less expensive company like floor tile and decor, but after comparing tiles from different stores there was no argument that the quality and uniqueness of products were unmatched by other stores. The staff is very helpful, we got discount on our first project and they kept giving us the same discount on later purchases. The store managers are very good in handling any broken tiles they had no issues with returns. The only thins is you have to wait for the tiles to be shipped. read more

my fault for not reading reviews before ordering my tile. All the reviews below have a common thread, even though they are good reviews for the actual tile. But if you need to have your tile for a certain date then BEWARE! I ordered my tile on a Monday and asked when the order would be in. I was assured by Bryan that it would be here by Saturday. Saturday comes and around 2:00 p.m. I called and was informed that it would be next Saturday because they didn't have enough in Oklahoma. Well that's fine except for my tile guy is coming Tuesday and no one else can work until the tile is down. So guess what no Christmas in my new kitchen because good ole Bryan couldn't read a computer and then told me oh yes don't worry it will be here in plenty of time. Now Bryan says I understand how you feel. Really? Nothing I can do. So if you have plenty of time and don't need your tile by a certain date then go ahead and order but if you need by a certain date be advised they will tell you whatever to get your order. As in all previous reviews the communication was quite poor. You would think they could address this fact in this day and age of computers. You would think they would know where 400 Square feet of tile is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Great store, not a great experience with customer service. Make sure you have the entire order before starting the job. Part of my order took longer to arrive than expected, and the job had to be suspended for a while waiting for the order to arrive. Also be ready to follow up on the order yourself, don't expect a call from the salesperson letting you know what is going on with your order. I purchased some 1" glass tile and the sales person told me how easy it be to install even though I told her I had never installed tile before. She sold me everything she said I needed ( over$ 170.00) but never told me how to install the tile. I was never told what thickness thin set to use and I ended up using a 1/4" instead of a 3/16". I also was never told how to line up the tiles to get straight lines. I installed the tile witch I was told would be easy. It turned into a total mess. The lines were not straight and because I used 1/4 " instead of 3/16" thin set the thin set came thru the front side of the tile. Some of the glass tiles even fell off. When I tried to remove the tiles to try it over again the sheetrock came off too. I had to cut out the damaged sheetrock and install new sheetrock. When I returned to The Tile Shop and told the sales person and manager , I even showed them pictures , they would do nothing about how all this turned out. I was told by the manager that I should have used 3/16" thin set although no one told me that when they sold me what they said I needed. The sales person went to the manager and she was unsympathetic or caring as to how this easy project turned out. She would not take any of the blame and would not work with me in any way because she said it was not their fault. I will never recommend going to The Tile Shop. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and calling their corporate office to explain my situation and their response. STAY AWAY FROM THE TILE SHOP read more
