My recent experience was...less than great. Instead of one of the ladies I've used before I went with the new girl. First mistake. Then, she kept trying to upsell me on more facial hair removal (saying, "oh, I'll just remove this, okay" with no mention of how much extra it would be); I had to tell her twice that no, I didn't want my upper lip done. She also waxed the sides of my face as well as the chin and threaded my eyebrows, and when it was time to settle the bill charged me ten dollars more than what I usually pay. I paid it and made a mental note never to use her again. Doing an extra service to someone and then not mentioning the cost until you're settling the bill is a shiesty, crappy thing to do; she literally said "Okay, let me do this" (in reference to the sides of my face) and then started waxing. I think in the future I'm going to discuss how much each area is and get a set price beforehand, so they'll be no misunderstanding. read more

Usually when I visit, they are very nice and do a good job. Today was different, however. The woman who did my brows was short with me and impatient and it really rubbed me the wrong way. This has been my preferred place to get my eyebrows done but I will gladly find another place. I will NOT tolerate mistreatment, especially when I am paying for a service. Came in for a service on Monday, May 2nd, 2016 for eyebrow/eyebrow tinting and a henna tattoo. Before getting the henna tattoo I asked the lady how long would it last for and if I can get it on my chest and she said yes and that it would last 2-3wks. She told me the peeling ink would come off after a few hours and not to not take a shower or apply anything wet or over the area for four hours. I did what she said and of course took showers and after about a day or two my henna tattoo basically disappeared and then my eyebrows were super thick and the lady told me the dye would peel off which nothing peeled off and I had to use a napkin to wipe off the excess ink because my eyebrows were extremely thick over the size of pencil thick. I called when I had the time four days later, May 6th, 2016 and they told me that I couldn't get a refund even though they lied and did a terrible job. Do NOT go here. read more

I've been coming here for the past three years and The Threading Salon is hands down the best salon I have been to. My eyebrows are very thick and they were able to shape them exactly how I wanted, but also kept the natural look. The salons I have been to previously always threaded my eyebrows too thin, but here it has never been a problem. read more

I am a huge fan of this little place that has people waiting for up to an hour (or more!) during busy times. They get popular by word of mouth. They do threading extremely well and work efficiently but precisely. They know what they are doing and I would trust them to do their job well. I have been going to this place for threading for a while now. It's not too tricky to shape my eyebrows, I would still say they do a great job, see for yourself the reviews :) . The wait can be longer after 5pm and finding parking on narrow Taylor street can be a pain sometimes. Look out for permit and no parking signs! But it's convenient to take the bus. They have now closed the stamp card (free eyebrow after 7th one) but I still think the prices are very decent . read more

I will never go to this establishment again. Although the owner is extremely nice, she is the only one there that is capable of threading correctly. One of the girls even told me that I came too often that's why she messed up my eyebrows....keep in mind I only go once every three weekend. This place is absolutely fabulous! I stumbled upon this place by chance and I'm so glad that I did. I used to have my eyebrows threaded at the mall. I am so glad that I decided to give this place a try. I hardly ever go to the mall for anything anymore. My waxer/threader is Lubna and she is the best. Lubna has been threading my brows for some time now and I decided to try body waxing. Let's just say she's throughly the best at everything. :-) The wait time is very minimal, and when you're scheduled for an appointment time, you are serviced at or very close to your appointment time. I've been going here for a while since it is close and most of the time they do a decent job. However, this will be the last - I was foolish enough to be a loyal customer. Like most salons they have those stamp card - get 5 stamps you get a free threading. Unfortunately, they will find any way to cheat you out of it. I had to fight to the point where I literally counted the stamps in front of the woman for her to accept that yes, there were enough. I am not an idiot, and if that's how you treat your customers, then I'll take my business someplace else; there's literally another salon less then a block away, and they thread for only $5. read more

I just started seeing Shazia at The Treading Salon and she is awesome. Hair removal is never painless but she is quick and does a great job.

This place is quite busy. You can write down your name on the list and walk around the area and come back. I had to wait about 30-40 mins, but it could have been because it was a Friday evening prior to Mother's day. The quality of work is workable. It wasn't the best eye brow treading I have ever done or the worse. I had to guide my lady a bit once she said she was done to exactly get it per my satisfaction. It's not a bad option if you have to get it done and can't make it to the burbs. I prefer my regular person in the burbs, but I would go here in case of emergency. Yup! I don't understand how this place has such a high rating. I've been here three times, and each time the experience was subpar with today taking the cake. The lady who did my brows (she didn't talk to me at all so I have no idea what her name is) just hacked into my brows. I find that good brow artists look at your face first to see what shape looks good and discuss if you're looking to change your shape or clean up. The act of savagery that just went down on my eyebrows ain't even right. She took off entirely too much hair even after I told her I only wanted a cleanup. Now, I have thick brows that I hadn't plucked/threaded in a month and this woman just went to town. She went HAM with that thread so much so that my skin is still irritated two hours later. Was there hair removed? Yes. Was it in the manner that I expected? No. And to top it off she had no customer service skills. Unfortunately I will not be returning. read more
