I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 10yrs and I've been coming here for about a year. The past 2 times I sat in the first chair and my eyebrows turned out great but the threader dragged the strings really hard across the skin above my nose/between my eyebrows and left cuts. The first time I thought it was a mistake or something but this time second time it REALLY hurt and the cuts are taking a while to heal and I hope they don't scar! Not sure what to do since its a great price and the actual eyebrows look good but if I go back then I will be putting a bandaid between my brows so I don't get cut up again. read more

I felt compelled to write another review for Kaya because after going to another threading business, I have pretty much cemented my belief that Kaya Threading is the absolute best! Every time I come here, I leave very happy with the way my eyebrows turned out. It is nice being able to go in and sit down and literally have her work her magic and come out with great eyebrows every time. Other places, for some reason I always come out less than satisfied. They just never turn out as great as if I were to get them done here at Kaya. Plus Kaya is the most inexpensive place that I have seen for eyebrow threading. Like I said before, I am not trying to pay $10 + tip to get my eyebrows done when they do a better job here for only $6. Take it from me, and my siblings who also come here for their eyebrows, including my brother, who claims that after he gets them done. He's always complimented on them by girls. The line is a hit or miss. There have been times that I have gone in and there was no one there but there have been times I have gone in and every single waiting chair has been taken. So I cannot really comment on that, I still have yet to figure out the busy times. Either way, I learned my lesson, from now on, if I can, just go to Kaya for all my threading needs. read more

This is the best eye brow place around. It's affordable and my brows always come out looking great! Since covid, she now wears a necklace that hold the thread instead of putting it in her mouth, so it is completely hygienic. They wear masks and clean everything between each person. I've been coming here for two years and I've noticed the quality of the service has gone down by far. Being a loyal customer and even bringing my family and friends here was a mistake. I got my eyebrows threaded today and I'm horrified. My left eyebrow is fine but my right eyebrow has never looked worse. It's thin, uneven, and the tip of it is dulled out so it doesn't even have the shape of an eyebrow anymore. The two brows don't even shape the same way. The left eyebrow is straight and the right one is slanted downwards. If you care about your eyebrows, don't come to this place. Since she has a kid and brings her to work, her concern is more about how fast she can finish than how well she does the job. read more

New favorite threading place!! $5.99 for eyebrows and $3.99 for lip is such a steal. On top of that I scored their AWESOME yelp deal, $6 for $10! I went on a Saturday evening and there was no wait which was a plus. The nice young lady, Dhruivi (I'm sooo sorry if I spelled your name wrong), was absolutely wonderful!! She was sure to ask me what I wanted before she started (arched, straight, thin, thick, etc.) and it was seriously the least painful threading I've ever had. On top of that, she checked in with me as she was working to make sure she wasn't trimming off too much which was nice and very considerate of her. To add one more bonus they have a frequent buyer card, 10 eyebrow threadings and the 11th is free. When I started getting my eyebrows done I use to solely go to Oasis in Cerritos for my threading needs, but over the past couple of years it has just been hard to get there from where I currently live. I've tried a couple of places near my apartment, but have always come home upset and near tears. I admit I have pretty difficult eyebrows to work with since they are naturally very unsymmetrical. The hairs on my right eyebrow grow in the most awkward direction (I assume it is because I sleep on my right side so they get smashed every night). I'm so excited about find this Kaya location just in time for my wedding festivities (bridal shower, bachelorette, and the actual wedding)! read more

This is my 4rth time here more recently. I like the place's cleanliness. However i can't help but feel uncomfortable with the owner's ungracious attitude. It is not just that she charged a bit more for certain things--like a dollar for threading 1 hair from the 'side' but the manner and way she "informed" me that she'll charge me a dollar to thread my 1 hair--as if it is a fight or something. I did go in there on 50% offer for my birthday. She gave me the discount but did not even wish me. She seems to have the formula for success-clean place, well decorated, and tasteful furnishings--but she lacks warmth, friendliness, and an element of graciousness--and i need that to have a personal service. Her threading work is fine--but her approach is not. And for that reason, I'm out. There are plenty of others who would be happy and warm to have me as their customer.Thank you. read more

I went to Kaya to get my eyebrows threaded for the first time.. ever. I was tired of having my eyebrows be uneven. (As to how it ended up like that is a mystery to me..) Anyway, after doing extensive research about threading, I found this place on Yelp (many thanks to past reviewers) and figured that I'd try this place out. I'm pleased to say that I am a happy and satisfied customer! This place is hidden in the shopping center across the way from the Brea Mall. It's right next to Kabuki and close to the Pei Wei restaurant (as of 4/2013). When I went in at around 10:00 AM, I did not have to wait. I did not have to make an appointment either. The facility was clean and aesthetically pleasing. This helped my nerves since I was a little anxious about getting my 'brows threaded for the first time in my life. The lady who threaded my eyebrows (bah, I don't remember her name.. I'm terrible) was very nice and carefully listened to my request. I specified that I did not want my eyebrows to be too thin, and that I wanted to clean it up and give it a more defined shape. After studying my eyebrows, she went to work. It was a little more painful than I thought it would be, but I learned afterwards that it was because I let the hairs get too long. (I was growing them out to have them shaped properly.) But overall, it was far less painful and tedious than plucking. In the end, she did a wonderful job! I was really happy with how my eyebrows looked. They looked natural and the way she shaped them also softened my look. She gave a Witch Hazel cotton ball wipe to cut down the swelling and redness afterwards, which was great. She gave a "Kaya Card" to get stamps for future visits. The 9th or 10th one is free. I was in and out of Kaya in less than 20 minutes! I had a great experience, and I'll definitely be going back to get my eyebrows threaded there in the future. read more

OKAY i kinda feel like I'm cheating on my other eyebrow place (The Thread Bar in Westwood), but my browz were just OUTTA CONTROL i had to get them done! Luckily, while browsing through Groupon today I found a $3 threading deal for this place so I thought I'd check it out since it had good reviews on yelp as well! When I first arrived there were 2 other people ahead of me and only one person working, but i didn't mind the wait! When she got to me, she was SUPER NICE!! She really took her time with me and made sure everything was perfect. I could tell she really cares about her work because she'd look me over multiple times to make sure everything was even and lookin' good! I ALSO GOT MY UPPER LIP THREADED BECAUSE I THOUGHT HEY, WHY NOT?! OH AND IF YOU CHECK IN YOU GET $2 OFF ON MONDAY AND TUESDAYS! but it doesn't work if you are already using another deal like groupon or yelp ): but still good! since i got my lip done my total was $7 ($3 groupon $4 lip) and she also gave me a stamp card!!! for the price, this place is DEFINITELY worth it ! This was my first time trying a threading salon that was not in Berkeley or Artesia. I must say, I'm impressed! Not being familiar with where the threading salon was, it took me a little bit longer to find the place. For those coming from/going to the stores on Birch, it's only a 4 minute drive! Thank you for the previous yelp pictures; they helped me pinpoint the orange building right next to the Japanese restaurant. Overall, the place is very clean. There was no line; granted, I was the first customer of the day, arriving around 9:20am. You get a nifty stamp card; these beauty rituals do add up, so a free one on your 9th visit really does help. Price: $5.99 (she'll round up and tell you $6). Compared to the ones in Artesia, this is a little bit more expensive by a dollar or two, but it definitely beats the $10 I pay in Berkeley (excluding tip). As for the threading experience, I specified that I just wanted clean up and not too thin. She definitely followed through! I was surprised that there was no cotton ball swipe or some kind of preparation before threading. It was relatively painless during the first part, but for some reason, the pain level increased (like mild pinches compared to super light ones if that makes sense) as she continued. However, I'm happy to say, there were no nicks from the threading! She did follow through with a cotton ball swipe at the end, and my brows came out great! When I want to get my eyebrows threaded and I'm too lazy to go to Cerritos, this is the place where I go. The service is always great and I'm always happy when I leave. Most places that I've been to I think that it's a bit painful, but here the way that they thread is almost painless. I think that if you come in on Mondays or Tuesdays it's cheaper (call ahead and ask I'm not sure if they still offer specials for those days) and I've also seen offers on groupon now. Even without the offer it's $6 and they also offer punch cards (get your eyebrows threaded 10 times and the 11th time it's free). Definitely one of the best places in North Orange County and highly recommended. NOTE: I came here once during lunch time (noonish) and I waited 40 minutes. Love Kaya! They have multiple locations and I used to frequent the one in Rosemead but since moving jobs, the Brea location is the closest to me. Upon walking in, the shop is very clean and well maintained. Everytime I come in, there is usually only one lady working but they're quick and I never have to wait more than 10 mins. Don't underestimate the stars. The owner of the shop was very kind to offer a free threading sample via Yelp. When I went to the Yelp business page, there are deals! $5 for $10 certificates! And if you are a smart phone user, you get $2 off your eyebrow threading when you check in, what a total steal. Seize it. If I was to compared this local business to the other places I have gone to for my eyebrows in the Tri-City (Fullerton, Brea, Placentia) area, I'd come back here. Let me begin by telling you that I received a free threading offer due to a review of another threading salon and I did not want to write this review under the free offer because I did not want it to be biased. I am going back tomorrow for the second time, on my dime, even though its out of my way because the girl/woman who groomed my eyebrows threaded them so perfectly and did exactly what I asked. She is meticulous and precise, so much that I was able to maintain their absolute perfection for a couple of months! I can probably pluck them back to decent looking but why risk messing with perfection, I got two great months out of it and if this second time the awesomeness continues, I will be a loyal customer (the kind that shouts their superiority from rooftops) for years to come. Horrible service, ok job. I actually come here often mostly because it's close by, I don't have to wait and they are open pretty late. The girl who runs the place is super rude. She pays no attention to customer service and making them feel comfortable. One time she had the fan blowing in my face and I asked her if she could turn it off cause it was bothering me, she said no she's hot and kept on going . The job is OK at best. Usually come here on a Mon or Tue since you get a $1 off your threading service if you check-in through Yelp. I've only interacted with one lady there (can't remember her name) but she's really nice and does a great job! You walk in, sign in and the wait until it's your turn. The wait can be a bit long at times because liked I said, it's usually one lady in there but it's okay, it's totally worth the wait! My eyebrows look so perfect at the end that I don't really mind the wait at all. The place itself is really nice and clean and hygenic. Lastly, they do have a reward/punch card system but you can't use it in combination with the $1 off check-in deal. The reward card says that if you visit 8 times, then the 9th time you get your brows done for free. This is definitely my go to brow place and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Went in, warmly greeted by the man behind the desk and the nice lady who was to thread my eyebrows, signed in on the clipboard, and then was immediately seen by the above lady. I didn't even tell her what I wanted before she proceeded. I don't know what I was thinking (I have sparse and thin eyebrows that take FOREVER to grow back from my overuse of tweezers), but I just chilled and let her do her thing. The end results? She was finishing up her current client but she smiled at me and nodded me to take a seat. There are only 3 stations at this Kaya so it's nice and cozy. When it was finally my turn, she was SO NICE! She was extremely attentive to each brow and her thread felt thinner than most because it didn't hurt as much. My eyebrows were so happy because they haven't received so much attention in such a long time. I also got my upper lip threaded, but it hurt so much I teared up (mainly because she was slow and VERY thorough with each area). NO PAIN, NO GAIN. Anyway, I appreciated that she spent so much time on both my brows and my upper lip. The subtotal came out to be $10 ($6 for eyebrows, $4 for upper lip) but since I didn't have cash AND I forgot to use the Yelp coupon, the total was $10.85 ($0.85 surcharge for card).
