    Pork chop

Give it a chance! Fresh farm to table! My family and I went there passing through these small towns and have this place a chance. We were thoroughly impressed, it has a very expensive 5 star restaurant and kitchen feel in a old fort plane town building that gave it a good rustic feel. I got the pork chop and it was honestly the best cooked, flavored pork chop I have ever had in my life. It had a great light sweet and spicy sauce on top and sat on green beans with cooked potatoes. My dad got the fish and chips and my mom got the salmon. The food was presented very nice everyone there tried very hard to make our experience a good one. Overall, I would make this a common dinner place, however it is a little pricy.

Real gem in beautiful Fort Plain. The duck wings alone are worth a drive from the Capital District. Enormous salads made for sharing, great wine and craft beer selection and knowledgable servers willing to accommodate special food needs. If it's not locally sourced it's not on the menu. Cities 10x this size do not have a restaurant this fine. Save room for the house made desserts especially the apple tart. Chef actually touches tables and insure everything is perfect. My highest rating.

High quality surprise in Fort plain. We ordered the charchrutier plate, the fish and chips and the fish of the day. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Would recommend for anyone looking for a high quality meal.

In town for a special occasion and took my family and friends to a new establishment although it's been here three years. I looked on yelp and got awesome reviews for this restaurant and we decided to try it on a Saturday night. Although it is not touted as a vegan friendly, the chef made a personal appearance to my table and made sure that my dish was made special as he eats very much like a vegan. I let him surprise me and he served in a pan crusted tofu with mushrooms and I miso kimchi sauce that was to die for. The service was fabulous, and the ambience was conducive to a wonderful dinner, Which was such a surprise and treat for Fort Plain. I have included pictures of our dinners and I by far recommend the chocolate brownie sundae over all of the desserts. It was beyond what I expected, As we ordered the dark chocolate and coffee moose which was very fresh, the peanut butter and chocolate tort which was a tad on the sweet side. The over all Takeaway is you cannot go wrong and the seating is spaced accordingly so you have your privacy yet can enjoy the ambience of the room. Our waitress was Becca and her enthusiasm and skills were equal to any restaurant in New York City I've ever been to. I can't say enough good about this restaurant and what Aaron the owner chef has going here. He's a local and has brought a wonderful entity to this area.

The Table at Fort Plain is the textbook definition of a hidden gem. My boyfriend and I are staying in Little Falls for the weekend and needed a good dinner spot tonight. A few nearby options came up, but The Table peaked our interest based on photos and reviews, of course. Appetizer: the hand-cut chips with aioli were just an awesome way to start our meal. They're light and crispy, but oh so flavorful. The aioli has the perfect kick to it. Meal: I went for the baseball steak and didn't regret one bite. It was cooked to perfection and everything from the sauce to accoutrements was flawless as well. My boyfriend got the seared salmon. He only let me have one bite- that should tell you it was delicious :) Other: we weren't going to get dessert- and we didn't order it- but along with the check, the super sweet waitress brought a half-portion of the evening's special orangey-bourbon cake. It was heaven! (And I'm usually not huge on orange-infused desserts). We met the chef, as he visited each table, and he was so delightful. It was clear that he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about what his guests think of their experience. It's unlikely that we'll end up back in this area, but if we ever happen to find ourselves out here, we will ABSOLUTELY dine again!

Unfortunately, it is no longer appreciated for it's greatness as times have changed. As a Resort Guest, I had the breakfast option which was a great choice to enjoy such elite dining on premises. Convenient and top notch. In the times I visited (July 2021) it was trailing to the end of the COVID nightmare (but before Delta) and the buffet was open and full quality was there. About all a guest could notice was the diligent wearing of masks by staff. The buffet was as good as you can get. Full fruit and Continental options, or hot eggs, meats, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. And eggs/omelets made to order. The only drawback was that I didn't want to over eat to start the day. needed a second stomach. Upon sitting the wait staff gets any drink you need (coffee/juices) as part of my breakfast included price. I was only brought a check at the end for a gratuity. Some uneven service getting to drinks quickly but it wasn't hard to get their attention if needed. There is a fancy dining room (I dropped a couple of photos) and a nice outdoor patio facing the lake. The outdoor seemed to fill up first albeit the weather was near perfect so can't blame. A point of confusion was logistics and dress code. Upon check in, the desk clerk let me know where it was and strongly advised a reservation and let me know it was fine dining and dress code was appreciated. Not knowing what time I wanted to eat I called late and no answer. I called restaurant services when I woke up and was forwarded to the casual dinner restaurant. I called the desk and had them transfer me, same as just calling, forwarded to casual not answered. No worry, I arrived and they had the guests on a list and it wasn't crowded enough to be an issue. Other thing was dress code. Some things I'd read in the literature was no sports gear, no hats, etc. Since most of the patrons were at the hotel for recreation (kids baseball tournaments, Hall of Fame, etc.) I didn't think wearing a T-shirt and tennis shoes would be an issue. It wasn't. Just don't wear swimwear. At the time I went it was breakfast only. If and when it opens for dinner do not listen to this advice and discuss with the management. Really nothing wrong here, can't withhold even a star. If you stay here, eat here. If the cost is too much, then find a place in your range but you won't beat the quality. This buffet was as good as it gets.

Summary: a lovely night out with good food and lovely ambiance and service, but my socks weren't blown off like other reviewers' were. The review: We were able to call the day before and get a reservation for 2 people at 7:30, and when we showed up, we loved the quaint, cozy renovated old home vibe. It's a modestly upscale restaurant in Cherry Valley, NY, another of the cute small towns in Upstate NY. We did get a couple of the daily specials, so I don't know how truly indicative of the vibes and regular food this review will be. Drinks: I really liked my Manhattan. However, my wife's cocktail, a daily special that we can't remember the name of, was almost cloyingly sweet and had an artificial caramel taste that overpowered the drink for her. We loved our spicy (they had to call it as such for liability purposes, the only spicy thing on the plate was the "medium" spicy salsa accompaniment) Beef Empanadas and Crab cake main. Entrees: to be honest, my seared duck breast special needed a little more grits, definitely a few more brussels, a smidge less sauce (it was balsamic-y an kind of over-powering) and a pass with pepper or something just give it a little bite. The duck was wonderfully tender and the grits were great. My wife also found her Ahi Tuna main nice and fresh but also a bit whelming. When we next find ourselves in Cooperstown, we might pop back up the Cherry Valley and come here. But, simultaneously who knows if our schedules will allow that.

Everything else was also great, the hanger steak is also tender and loved the hash that came with it and the crab spaghetti had ample crab meat in it. Presentation was gorgeous. My dining companions ordered the short rib, which was much tastier and tender. Perhaps this is one of the places that exceeds when it comes to "turf", but you should avoid the "surf." I also ordered an asparagus soup, which was too salty, but had the texture of a bean/split pea soup. They also served generous pours of wines and had friendly service, otherwise. Keep in mind this is a very pricey establishment. For a dining party of 3 people, our bill was nearly $200 for something very middle range -- it's not the glitzy-est of atmospheres for that high price. Instead, it was dark, dank and basement-like. I expected more affordable pub style food with that feel.
