Excellent Irish pub and restaurant in Cobleskill, Schoharie County. I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere and hot food.

Easy place to sit at the bar and grab a bite in Cobleskill. We saw a few families with kids dine in the seated dining area. Menu has a lot of options. It isn't vegetarian friendly, but they seem accommodating and can probably whip something up without meat - like a vegetable and cheese quesadilla. Servers were friendly and attentive. It was pretty quiet when we ate here.

A big menu with wide selection of food but nothing really spectacular. Food wise, it's pretty standard so keep your expectations down. I ordered a cobb salad with grilled chicken and the chicken was so hard it was inedible. The bacon cheeseburger was overcooked and extremely dry even though we asked for it to be medium. We ordered 3 burgers for the table and none of the burgers came out being medium, everyone of them was well done. The fries were crispy and good so thankful for that. We sat outside by the porch and service was close to non-existent. Out of sight, out of mind? Took a while to get our order taken and for our food to come out so if you find yourself here and hungry, grab a table inside.

    Reuben was delicious!!!

Looking for a quick bite while in town for a volleyball tournament. This place was the closest and had some decent reviews. When going to an Irish restaurant get the Irish food! The Reuben was fantastic! Plenty of very good corned beef and the cheese was ooey gooey all on the perfect rye bread with just enough sour crout and thousand island dressing. Great sandwich! Service was a little slow moving and it wasn't very busy at all. I sat with an empty water all the way to the end of my meal without a single offer for a refill.

This Irish pub had the typical American cuisine and good service. Our waiter was a cute guy named James and he look like he ran the afternoon rush quite efficiently by himself. I had the fried cod and french fries with a tossed salad and the best damn Diet Coke with lemon that I've ever tasted. My partner had the salmon with baked potato onion rings and it was our first time trying beer cheese! This must be an up north thing because I've never heard of it here in the city. Go here for a nice afternoon lunch that is fast and effective and getting your food right away.

Went upstate to visit Howe Caverns and stopped in Cobleskill for dinner. Can't resist an Irish Pub and Chieftans did not disappoint. My son loved his burger, my daughter enjoyed her special order buttered pasta and my Reuben was perfect. We loved the decor and even enjoyed a game of pool and darts after dinnner.

We had THE BEST meal at Chieftans Restaurant! We're from out of town and didn't know what to expect. The service was fantastic. The food was flavorful and cooked perfectly. We will definitely go back!

Awesome atmosphere, friendly staff and locals. Food was your above average bar food. The night we were there there was a band playing a live event that played well and spilled out onto the dining room. Staff like every where else is doing triple duty. Chicken fingers were a bit over done, or the oil needed to be changed, chicken wings were meaty but the bbq sauce wasn't great. I ordered a Rachel it was perfect. An actual grilled Rachel, not a toasted Sandwich parading as a grilled delicacy. Good Guiness pour. Not like the reviews I nave previously seen. Check them out.

Where "Old School" is the Only School…read more Jimmy O'Connor's isn't trying to be a trendy gastropub; it's a family-owned authentic Irish bar that has been a Windham staple for over 50 years. It's the kind of place where the floorboards have stories and the Guinness is poured with the respect it deserves. One of the coolest things about Jimmy's is the family legacy. The bar is a pillar of the local community, and if you're a fan of snowboarding, you've likely heard of John (Johnny) O'Connor. John grew up right here in Windham and went on to become a famous professional snowboarder (riding for brands like CAPiTA). His roots in the mountain culture are baked into the atmosphere of the pub, making it a "must-visit" for anyone who respects East Coast riding history. The Burgers: While the menu covers all the pub classics, the Jimmy O's Burger is the go-to. It's a no-nonsense, juicy mountain burger that hits the spot after a day of freezing temperatures. Pair it with a basket of "Jimmy Fries" and a pint of Murphy's Irish Stout. The Vibe: It feels like a true public house. You'll find a mix of muddy hiking boots, snow pants, and local regulars all sharing the same space. Entertainment: Jukebox & Felt The back of the pub is where the real fun happens: The Pool Table: It's almost always in use, serving as the center of gravity for the room. The Jukebox: It provides the perfect soundtrack to a night of "just one more drink." Whether it's classic rock or Irish folk, the music keeps the energy high without drowning out the conversation. Note: Just a heads-up that Jimmy O'Connor's was recently listed for sale to find its "next chapter" after 50 years of family ownership, so now is the perfect time to visit and experience its classic legacy!
