They offer many flavors and one non-dairy option which is a sorbet. Their milkshakes also are in demand. When we visited, they had three staff scooping, and the line moved quickly. This is a popular spot, as they have a BOGO coupon in the visitors' magazine. The General Store had Fife and Drum performers playing from 7-9 pm entertaining guests in the comfortable porch. This is a fun place to visit, shop, and enjoy some ice cream.

From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and outstanding customer service. Although she was the only employee working, she handled everything with professionalism, efficiency, and grace. There were already three families enjoying their ice cream when we arrived, and while we were there, she served our family along with three additional families--all while scooping ice cream, operating the cash register, and keeping things running smoothly. I asked if she was always scheduled to work alone, and she mentioned that another employee was supposed to arrive at 3:00 p.m. By the time we left around 4:20 p.m., she was still managing the entire shop by herself without ever losing her positive attitude or composure. Courtney deserves recognition for her incredible work ethic, professionalism, and dedication. In a time when great customer service can be hard to find, she set an outstanding example. Thank you, Courtney, for making our visit such a wonderful experience. The Big Scoop is fortunate to have someone like you representing their business!
