The ice cream is always delicious rich, flavorful, and consistently tasty no matter what we try. They come up with some really fun and creative flavor combinations, and they never miss. The customer service is always great. Everyone we've interacted with has been friendly and welcoming. We don't usually sit inside, but there are a few seats if you want to hang out. First time visiting this establishment but it won't be our last. We were heading elsewhere and it so happened it was closed. We did a search and this place was the closest. Upon entering we were greeted immediately and the two young ladies that were behind the counter were very friendly. The store is a nice size and has indoor and outdoor seating. Both areas were clean and inviting. I was with both my daughters, two of my granddaughters and one of my grandsons. I've heard good things about Gelati Celesti for YEARS, but never got around to trying it. I finally tried it today, and I can't believe I haven't tried it earlier :) I got one scoop of Coconut Cream and one scoop of Oreo. It was delicious, and what really stood out to me was how creamy it was! The prices aren't bad either- it was about $7 with tip for a small. The worker was also really sweet and patient with me. National ice cream for breakfast day/my birthday what better way to celebrate then to start the day off with ice cream on your birthday for breakfast. So glad to find out they had heating outside while I'm waiting in line for the doors to open because it was definitely chilly out. Surprised at how many people showed up to celebrate. Lots of people in their pajamas are waiting for the doors to open. As soon as the doors open, everyone was greeted with a pajama dressed staff member! She was very pleasant, and very happy, which is very odd so early in the morning for a lot of people all of the staff was very pleasant, and so glad to see that they all were wearing their pajamas. The smell of waffles was in the air because of the homemade waffle cones. I could not wait to try the maple Waffle or pancakes ice cream it was a limited time offering so I know I had to get that. I also decided to get a scoop of Curt's coffee, caramel crunch. Both ice creams were so good. I love Gelati Celesti! This is my second time coming to this location. It's much bigger than my "home" location in Chesapeake. I love how they have 2 sides to order from. Also, they have a section that is open to the outside and no wall. This is a fun space in the nice months of spring, summer, and fall. First time this location of what I consider a flagship. Much more square footage, outdoor patio as well as many more flavors than Hilltop. The Town Center location is ideal for traffic. Find them beside CAVA just off the corner of Virginia Beach Blvd and Constitution. There is plenty of parking shared with other businesses. The area was clean, however the walk up had gummy bears spread out all over the nearby patio. The interior was bright and attractive, the dining room was empty as they were closing in 30 minutes. There was a good size line to order from menu boards. The staff was friendly and offered samples which my daughter and I took them up on. My daughter and I both chose the Carmel Brownie and I added Panda which has coconut. They start at one scoop up and I elected for a cup. They do offer large waffle cones. The cases are full of treats to go like full size ice cream pies, I cream sandwiches and a stand up case ice cream by the pint. They also have merchandise. We took our cups out to the patio which is very nice on a Summer evening. However there was minor debris on the floor, chairs were scattered and not wiped. Also the small outside van was overflowing. Unfortunately that's a full 1 star deduction for me. The ice cream was to die for yum! I'm sure I will return and hopefully they can police the patio better in the future. My girlfriend and I first went to this location as part of a Yelp Elite event back in January. This is the 2nd location for Gelati Celesti in the Hampton Roads area where they serve Italian-style ice cream. The previous times combined, we walked away satisfied. How would this visit go you may ask? For today, we met new friends as part of a social group I run. Upon everybody arriving, we all went to the counter to order. The staff greeted us with an 'Hello!' and even let us taste some samples. I chose two scoops of Cookie Dough ice cream on a waffle cone. Very satisfied. You can really taste the cookie dough and the ice cream was thick, just the way it should be. And the waffle cone tasted like it was right out the wafflemaker. I would've preferred the Butter Pecan flavor that I sampled as well but nonetheless, I liked my selection. And so did my girlfriend and our friends as well. Their ice cream has a thick and creamy texture with a punch of flavor! They have so many flavors from which to choose that it can be overwhelming!! But no worries because you can always go back for more as I did! I ordered a scoop of Blanchard's Dark as Dark (my favorite hands down) and the Nutella in a cup! It was gone in less than 2 minutes!! So I had to get another double scoop but of Mudpie and Coffee & Cream!! Absolutely IN LOVE with this brand! Gelati Celesti (GC) is a local chain mostly with locations in Northern Virginia with two locations in Virginia Beach. They seem to be expanding rapidly as the Town Center VB location is their second in the area (first in VB is at Hilltop) and I saw signs for a tenth location on the door indicating they are hiring for Chesapeake! YAY! I cannot WAIT and neither can my fam as they are inching closer and closer to us!!! Not great for my waistline, but better on gas money LOL...it's all about balance). This is the closest location for now, by about 10 minutes, but believe you me, we would definitely drive out of our way to Hilltop if this location had not opened. When we moved back, we had heard so much about GC that we decided to check it out and WOW, I am not even an ice cream person but they made a fan out of me! - Vibe - This is a cheery place! They put a lot of thought into the design at this location. High ceilings, simple and minimalistic and colors like light pink and blue that just cheer ya up! There are two word neons signs that make great photo opps and best part is their outdoor patio! It's like they cut out a part of their indoor space, so that it's covered, shielded by any kind of weather, being super sunny, windy, rainy, snowy etc. and it's equipped with outdoor heaters for the colder months! - TLC - Sweet like their treats! Everyone that has helped us has always been friendly, helpful and most of all, patient. Being a mother of two young kids, who go bonkers over treats who want to try everything, they patiently give out samples to your heart's content. But seriously, who wouldn't want to try ALLL the flavors, adults included so can ya blame my kids? Things to note: - 30 flavors on hand at ALL TIMES. Yes THIRTY! They have 24 house faves and then 6 made in limited quantities so they rotate those out once it's sold out! - Samples are back! They will gladly give you a sample of any flavor. - Go-to flavors: personally, Coffee & Cream and anything with cheese! I've had Blueberry Mascarpone, which I bought a pint of. But seriously, how can you go wrong when they are offering to give samples of any flavor and there are 30 choices....If you can't find one that you like, then no offense, maybe their ice cream isn't the problem? Just sayin'... - Their ice cream is by far the CREAMIEST....you can do an ice cream pull with it. It's so stretchy... - They have limited non-dairy options - They have pints and quarts for sale in their grab-n-go fridge! Example: my SIL LOVES amaretto and she says it's hard to find. When she discovered that they take special orders, DONE! I think it takes about a week or two, but now she is a happy camper with a freezer full of her fave. - They recently started selling their ice cream pies by the slice. - They make their own waffle cones. - At the time of this writing, they offer a military discount when in uniform. - Look out on social media for their themed events! We've participated in their National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day (they partnered with Peace Love and Little Donuts, a locally owned and operated franchise to give out a free donut with purchase of ice cream) and Summer Kick-Off (free scoop to kick off the summer). I had never been to this chain before today. If you have a dog, this location has a sort of outdoor patio with tables and chairs, where you can wait for whomever is with you to bring out your ice cream, as despite the sign mentioning the patio is dog friendly, there is no way to order and pay while out on it. The staff seemed friendly enough, but the person I was with tried to ask for a medium bowl, but only two scoops as he didn't wanted his squished on top of one another. The staff member evidently didn't hear him or didn't care to address the request as he went ahead loaded up the small bowl like mine - one layer on the bottom, one scoop squished on top. My friend ordered the Don't ask (dark chocolate decadence and peanut butter with golden Oreo cookie bits) and kettle corn ice cream. I was surprised at how tasty the corn ice cream was, it had a pretty strong set of flavor notes without being too corn heavy. I did not sample the Don't Ask, but he said it was 'all right'. I chose Vanilla and Chocolate Decadence, plus a waffle cone on the side. The waffle cone was very large, and was exactly what one expects of a waffle cone. It paired particularly well with the vanilla because it was more of a sweet cream. I only got notes of sweet and milk. It was as bland as most people seem to think vanilla is. The chocolate decadence was surprisingly bitter at first bite (probably because I had been eating the vanilla) to the point I thought there might be espresso or coffee in it, however after a couple bites, the bitterness faded back into a more complex chocolate richness. I spent with tax, 8 bucks for my small portion. I think for the price, value and bland vanilla, I will probably go elsewhere, but it's worth a try. You can also get sample spoons of flavors, which in hindsight I probably should have done. Hope you don't come while they have a bunch of tiny humans whose parents do not keep to indoor voices as the ceiling is lofted beyond the first stretch of drop ceiling and their shrill little screams echo. read more

We came to try some new ice cream and brought our young ones. There were quite a lot of flavors to choose from, which is always a nice thing to have. Even with all of the flavors to choose from our 3 kids all went for strawberry on the cones, while my wife and I shared 2 scoops, 1 salted caramel and 1 coffee and cream. My wife loved the salted caramel, and thought it was perfect. I loved the coffee and cream, it was not too strong of a coffee flavor, while also not being too sweet. The kids loved their strawberry ice cream, I did have a taste of theirs and it reminded me of my childhood. When I was a kid we would go to the local strawberry festival and make strawberry ice cream at home with the freshly picked strawberries, that is what it tasted like here. The bathrooms were also very clean, and the whole seating area was spacious. There was even a nice outdoor area for when the weather is warmer. I'm originally from Richmond VA, so my expectations for each new Gelati Celesti location is high! But let me tell you, this one does not disappoint. This location is HUGE, one of the largest I've seen and is super clean. There is a large, covered outdoor seating area that will be perfect in the summer time. The employee scooping for us was super helpful and let us take our time trying flavors to decide what we wanted. I ended up opting for the Peppermint Bark, and took home a pint of the Spicy Hot Chocolate (with cinnamon and cayenne). Don't knock it until you try it! I love Gelati Celesti because they always have a ton of flavors, and a great selection of rotating/ holiday ones.
