First was opened late on a Tuesday night which was great since I was traveling thru and was hungry for some food. They had amazing wings. I had both the buffalo and teriyaki. They were done in a dirty style which is really good. Had a good crunch but still be tender on the inside and not soggy at all. The drinks selection and prices were awesome and to top it off some live music which plays each night. I love the decor inside and the names of the items on the menu was unique to musical artists which was cool. I will personally make the trip back to this place again. Their service was fast and friendly.

My favorite place. This is where I feel like home and haven't had a chance to go in about 10 years until this weekend. It was still the best. We got there late and the kitchen was closed but they graciously brought us chips and salsa. The drinks are always top-notch and the atmosphere is so cool. There was a great folk duo playing when we went this time but they have some awesome music every time I go.

Tai me to the stool cocktail

Got the pretzels with beer cheese... BEST beer cheese we have ever had. Local IPA's and fresh fruit cocktail is where it's at. Stumbled upon this place from Long Island and so thankful to have come here. Terry is not only a great bartender but turns out to be the NICEST owner in the business. Service was great, friendly and punctual. The ambiance leaves you smiling and like you are part of this great community. Cannot recommend enough!!

My friend and I recently went to The Stomping Ground for lunch. We absolutely loved the decor!!! It was so cute in here, definitely could feel the vibe of the old days in here (without pretending to be vintage). We had a great server and she was very helpful with suggestions. My friend ordered the pot pie and I ordered my usual Caesar salad with chicken (of course), plus a side order of toasted pita bread. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. My friends pot pie was a tad burnt and my Caesar salad was not great, the chicken wasn't grilled as it normally is everywhere else I order it. The server had told me when I ordered that they cook the chicken overnight in a crock pot and it's delicious. It reminded me of pulled pork (except chicken). The chicken was shredded and came in a pile on the side of the salad. I didn't care for the dressing either. This was expensive too...$14. for the salad and $2. for the toasted pita. The restaurant has some interesting menu items, but I think they just need a little tweaking to make them outstanding.

This was my first time going here. It was great the server was nice. The food was amazing I had pulled pork and I loved it. The Ambience/vibe was chill not too crowded. There is music playing in the background chill music not loud. They have live music 6 days a week. The bacon brownie was amazing.

Midweek at the Stomping Ground Putnam. Start the weekend early. Frenchie and the Punk, more great live acoustic music...reminds me of Siousie and the Banshees-lite. Tambourine is OK, but needs more...cowbell!

The food was very, very greasy. My dish, which was flavorful, it was a Mac and cheese with bbq pork and I liked it. But very greasy. The pot pies weren't really pot pies because there was no crust. It was all cheese, potatoes, and grease. In the photo you can see it's completely drenched in oil. The grilled cheese was good though, but it's odd that you can't choose your own side to go with it. And the other sandwich was not very good.

I love this place. Original and delicious food, comfy atmosphere. Music nights can be loud so you have to be in the mood to jam.

Service is great, very attentive and friendly. The food is what earns this three stars. I tried a stuffie, German onion soup, a Farmhouse burger, and a key lime Mason jar. The stuffie was a little small, and most of the flavor was imparted by the ham and the squeeze of lemon. The German onion soup, I'm not sure why it was German except to not be French? Outside the name difference, the onions were way too large, and there was a total lack of flavor going on in the soup. The crock was very large too. The burger and fries looked pretty good, and I enjoyed the flavors here. The fries were rough hewn, so there was good crispness from all the edges. The toppings of the burger, and the bun, were also hearty. Unfortunately, my medium rare burger was more like raw meat with surface browning. I'm a big fan of rare steak, but ground beef needs a little more cooking. Also, the house made ketchup is really more of a marinara sauce. If I'd ended up eating more of my plate before they took it away to re-fire the burger, I would have asked to replace the ketchup. The key lime Mason jar was e everything you want to wrap up a meal. Great flavor, lightness, citrus. I did have to bring most of it home but, unlike the burger they brought back in a box, I'm excited to get back into the key lime. From an accessibility stand point, there is no ramp to get in nor handicap parking, so the evidently don't want your business. Once you're in, there are some seats you could get in, but if this place were full it would be difficult to navigate for anyone. The bathroom is a single room, but very spacious and nice. So, mixed bag for access. Your mileage may vary, but I'm not racing to return.

I was here at lunch time on Tuesday, so it wasn't busy, but it is a very spacious interior with a number of distinct sections, so you could easily come here for the bar area or a nice meal out. I had the daily special appetizer: poutine. Additionally I got a rib eye done Montreal style. The poutine was great, though pretty large for an appetizer. This could have been a meal all on its own. Nice crispy pub fries, melted cheese, and brown gravy, all flavorful but not too salty. I did put a good amount of it in a to-go box because I would have had no room for lunch if I'd finished it. The rib eye came with asparagus and fries (for some reason you can't get mashed potatoes until after 4pm?), and oh man can I see why they've won awards for this. With the Montreal seasonings and blue cheese butter, there was no lack of flavor, and this steak was cooked nicely medium rare. Such a tender piece of meat, it went right down and I was so happy to find a place doing steak proud. I was all set to give this place five stars, but then I went to the bathroom and thought it was straight out of a cubist painting. Weird angles, tight space. As a tall person I had trouble, and from an accessibility stand point it was a nightmare. All in all, based on the food I had, I'd send anyone here. I'll be back myself. I can't wait to have more of that steak, and I'll have to try out the other styles while I'm at it.

The bench seating was very comfortable, though some of the tabletops were pretty tall and all wood, so maybe not the easiest to sit at for a while. The restaurant has an extensive menu, but when I saw the pitmaster section I knew I had to try some of that. As an appetizer there were potato skins with pulled pork. Wow, these are not the wizened, come from a frozen box, potato skins. These were large, brimming with flavor and cheese. From the pit was brisket and ribs. Each came with corn bread, one with fries, the other with mac and cheese. Corn bread, so good, nice grainy texture, not a baked sugar slurry like you can find elsewhere, up here in the north. The brisket is super tender, doesn't need much sauce because it's packing all that natural and smoke flavor. The ribs are not dainty. You're going to be getting in here with your hands, like proper ribs eating. I'm so unused to that, and it resulted in me bringing half the rack home because a half rack was so filling. The edges of the ribs were dry, but all the interior was pull apart tender and delectable. Again, only needing a touch of their homemade sauce. The fries were robust but still crispy and seasoned well. The mac was the only miss for me. Too toothsome and not much flavor. Because they also do wood fired pizza, I got a cheese with ricotta to go. I'm not sure I ever need their pizza again. The crust was thin but not very crispy except on the cornicione, which had a lot of herbs sprinkled on it. The sauce disappeared, flavor wise, and so did the cheese blend. Side notes - I know everything has gotten crazy expensive, but the prices here took me aback. $16 for three pieces of bacon? Also, the 10% military discount was only applied to my ribs, but nothing else, so I'm happy they have one but it may only be applied to your food and non alcoholic drinks on Tuesdays and Fridays during their specific windows.

There weren't really any titles that grabbed us though. My main critique is that it was pretty dusty... we looked at one of the lights and the cobwebs on it made it look like a Halloween decoration.
