I'll never be back, slow service, unfriendly waitress, small portions. Disappointing at best.

Went here because I heard they created a legendary breakfast burrito called "The Admiral" and it definitely lived up to the hype.

I really liked the ambiance of the space, it's quite comfortable and has a nautical aesthetic. We were sat in a cozy little corner by the window, a great spot for watching the bustling of the little seaside town. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the restaurant's offerings, noting in their introduction that the focus of the menu is on fresh local seafood, and that everything on the menu is freshly made in house. I was very eager to try a cup of the clam chowder for an appetizer since many other reviewers have said that it's some of the best they've ever tasted, and after trying it for myself I'm more than inclined to agree with them; it had a perfect consistency and excellent flavor. Boyfriend wanted the fried mozzarella so we got some of that, and that was pretty tasty as well. Boyfriend got the chicken parm sandwich for his meal and I got the fish and chips. I didn't end up trying the sandwich, but he said he liked it. My fish and chips plate was pretty good; the fish tasted just a tad under seasoned to me, however the flavorful tartar sauce helped with that and I could tell the fish itself was great quality. The hand cut fries were good, but I wasn't really a fan of the coleslaw. Overall we had a pleasant experience at The Mariner. A very good choice for fresh seafood and a relaxed vibe. I'm sure I'll be in town again at some point; if I come back to The Mariner, I'll make a point to get a bowl of the clam chowder instead of a cup, because that alone is absolutely worth returning for... but until then, I'll be dreaming about it.

I actually expected it to be really busy when we got there around 10:45, but there were quite a few open tables. They sat us in a queue table right in the window near the water. I couldn't decide what to get because everything looks so good. I ended up with the Patatas Brava which had soupy in it. I haven't had soup in years and they made it really stand out with the home fries, eggs, and crema. My wife had the basic breakfast, and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. We ordered an apple crêpe for the table that had caramel and toasted almonds on it. The staff was also great. We had one waitress, but a second one was always there to check on us. The service gets five stars for sure! I wish we had a place like this near our house. It's right on the line of Westerly Rhode Island so we were able to walk around downtown Westerly which was really nice.

It's got that modern‑rustic New England charm without trying too hard, and honestly, the vibe alone earns a solid chunk of the stars. The happy hour menu is where they really shine. Great variety, thoughtful bites, and prices that make you feel like you've stumbled onto a local secret. It's the perfect mix of approachable and elevated -- enough creativity to keep things interesting, but still familiar enough that you don't need a decoder ring to order. Drinks are well‑balanced, and the bartenders know how to keep things friendly without hovering. The bar area deserves its own shoutout. Cozy, intimate, and just the right amount of buzz -- ideal for a date night warm‑up, a solo unwind, or a casual meet‑up with friends. It's the kind of bar where you can settle in and actually enjoy the moment. Why not five stars? A few small tweaks -- maybe a touch more consistency in pacing or a couple more standout dishes on the happy hour lineup -- would push it into "must‑return immediately" territory. But as it stands, Owl & Dove is absolutely worth the visit and easy to recommend. Signing off with full flavor and zero regrets

If you can sit at the bar or in one of the 2 tables by the window, you'll get excellent service. The charcuterie board is great, and the drink selection is also pretty good. However, the last time we came here, it was the middle of the afternoon on Valentine's day. I'm from Boston and Cape Cod and my partner is European; we look like it and we act like it. Upon a brief interaction with the hostess, we both felt spoken down to: "YOU'RE trying to come in on Valentine's day? Without a reservation?" This, coming from someone with a Worcester accent who was dressed like a boy going to church choir. We were shooed away into the dining area: "I guess you could stand over there and look at the menu". It's about 330 in the afternoon- most tables are completely empty. Then a different staff member, also with a working class accent, says "I need you to clear out of this walkway because this is for staff only", despite the fact that no staff were walking there and we had been standing there about 20-30 seconds. We left without saying anything as the hostess tried to say something to us. If you want to feel spoken down to, in the working class city of Worcester no less, come here. Alternately, if you're feeling aggressive and want to squeeze your way in to sit touching shoulder to shoulder, come here. The time before this, the hostess was a soft-spoken woman who mumbled a lot; we had to elbow people out of the way at the middle bar section, which is where she directed us. Maybe in another year I'll want to come back for lunch only. Honestly, I'd rather drive back to Boston if I'm going to be treated snobbishly.
