I had a decaf to warm me up - very good - nice sized cup too. My daughter got a beautiful shrimp and corn dish; my son, Buffalo Macaroni and cheese; moi - Mushroom Pappardelle! One of my favorite places in stubridge, The ambiance was calm and child frendly. I got a bowl of mac and cheese and some bao buns and also Jalapeno poppers. My family got the steak and duck, they said it was awesome. The bao buns were fantastic, each bite was like a cloud In your mouth. The Jalapeno poppers were mild but a lot of good flavor. The staff were nice and personable. The service was really good, with the jalapeno poppers out first then the bao buns came. This is a great place for a midweek lunch. Not crowded, the staff are friendly, and the service is great. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, a small Caesar salad, and burger sliders with cheese to share with my friend. She got a garden salad and scallops also to share with me. The burgers were delicious if a little well done for my taste. The scallops were out of this world rushed in a tangy sauce that really added to the flavor of the scallops. Well we were very disappointed in our recent visit. Sat at the bar. The bar tender was pleasant but she and the servers mostly gathered at the other end of the bar to chit chat during most of our time there. We decided to try a small plate before ordering a meal. We got the seared scallops. It was 3 scallops (average sized) for $17. Some of the worst scallops we have ever had. They were over cooked so very chewy. The garnish was some wilted arugula and dehydrated sliced strawberries. Needless to say we didn't order anything else. I met a friend here, neither of us are from the area but this was a half way point for us to meet and the reviews looked promising. We made a reservation for 1pm but my friend called them to see if we could shift it to noon. When we arrived the hostess said they might be able to get a table early (we were fine to wait) so we told her we would grab a drink at the bar and wait for a table. We each got espresso martinis which were served in a stemless wine glass filled to the top. Interesting choice of glassware but I do appreciate a full cocktail. It was a bit sweet for our taste but absolutely drinkable. We were starving but we did not order food, just drinks since we were waiting for our table. Finally at 1:05(after our reservation time) my friend went over to ask the hostess if we could have our table and she said "oops, I think I forgot about you". Not cool but we decided to just eat at the bar. It was a brunch menu, we both got a breakfast meal with home fries, eggs and french toast. Our food came out stone cold. I am thinking it sat forever before being run to us- so maybe we were forgotten again? I ate most of my meal because I was ravenous but my friend did not. It was disappointing for sure, cold potatoes are just not good. We also ordered a bottle of cava but I'm not sure that's what we got-it tasted incredibly sweet and cava is generally dry. Overall it was very affordable (100ish for the two of us) but just disappointing. The workers were friendly but how can you just forget to seat a reservation? The vegetable hash (which was a tad greasy), duck dumplings, and wings had such great flavor. Our group were pleased with the meal. Very innovative dessert, too--baklava cheesecake. My only note was that I have a dairy allergy and asked for my flatbread without cheese. I was served literal pieces of food on the plate. A very unexpected gem on our way home from Boston. We had the gnocchi which was rich and savory with perfect chicken. Also had the twilight bowl which was nothing we expected but exceeded all expectations. Driving from New Haven CT to northern MA, we needed to stop for dinner. Thought we'd stop in Vernon CT, but it was a bit too early, so we kept going. Found this place in Sturbridge on yelp and took a chance. Glad we did! The menu is varied and Barbara, our server, told us that the fall menu just started. That tells me they have seasonal menu changes, which is a good thing, imho. They also run a "special hummus," which was something with jalapeño; I'd have liked to try it but hubs isn't a fan of spicy! The table of 4 across from us did have it; looked like a good sized appetizer for the 4 of them. Anyway, we didn't want to linger, as we still had close to 2 hours to drive. We both chose the harvest grain salad. It came on a dinner plate, kale base with quinoa, lightly dressed w oil and?.. There were pomegranate seeds, yum, a couple of cubes of roasted butternut squash, 2 thin slices of dried apple on top, pretty presentation. Hubs added salmon, I added grilled shrimp which were perfectly cooked (5). He ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, a generous pour in a stemless (our preference, so that was nice) glass. Hubby and I stopped here for a light dinner on our way to Boston. After driving many hours, the warm, relaxing atmosphere was just what we needed. I had seen a review that criticized their use of paper table covering, but found that the natural brown-kraft paper worked well with the decor and did not detract from the overall classiness of the restaurant. They have a pretty extensive menu and seem very knowledgeable about safe food handling for celiac. Our waitress steered me to the GF mac & cheese. This was NOT your grandma's mac & cheese. Instead, it was a welcome blend of comfort food and culinary creativity with a delicious mix of cheeses, vegetables and seasoning. (The leftovers held up well, too.) Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his sliders, too. If I ever find myself in the area again, will definitely return to try more of the GF menu. read more

I wanted to only give 4 stars because I was upset I was told we'd have to wait over an hour for a table, but then realized that I could've chosen to go someplace else and didn't, so I won't hold that against them. They really don't have an area to wait, so we just sat across the street for a while until we were tired of being eaten alive. We came back in to check with Patrick at the host stand. He was very attentive and said he was going to have a bar table opening, but at that point, I preferred to wait the rest of the time for a regular table. He kept checking on us and giving us updates and got us seated before expected. We went with a few small things to try out. We had the bread basket-amazing bread that was warm and perfectly crunchy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside with a lemon basil oil. I expected more flavor, but I didn't get any. We still enjoyed it. The fried pickles were good, but nothing special to us because we live in Georgia (but may be special here). The mustard aioli is in mane only; if it weren't for the whole mustard seeds, it's really flavorless but still palate friendly to cut the greasy pickles. Lastly, the pan seared scallops. The scallops themselves were cooked perfectly, but the pancetta was burnt and inedible. The yuzu sauce has a kick (but there's not much on the plate) and the pea purée was smooth and mild. Overall, it's kind of small and homey (in a very nice way) and service was phenomenal between Patrick in the beginning and Violet as our server, but everyone working here is hustling, yet friendly. read more

We typically like small plate venues and were looking forward to an interesting and tasty lunch. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our dining experience here and surprised by the 4 star rating provided by my fellow Yelpers. It was a quiet Saturday, around Noon, and we were seated quickly. Our pleasant waitress immediately brought menus, followed by water. I asked if she had any recommendations, and she suggested the Crazy Dates small plate and the Sliders. Those sounded like good choices, and when she returned we ordered: * Bread Basket - French baguette, lemon-basil infused oil. $4.00 * Pan Seared Scallops - Pea puree, crispy pancetta, yuzu reduction. $16.00 * Crazy Dates - Mejdol dates, apple-wood smoked bacon, goat cheese, golden-balsamic reduction. $12.00 * Cast Iron Seared Burger Sliders - chuck & short rib grind, cooked medium, bacon jam aioli, arugula, tomato, cheese. $17.00 We liked the Bread the best (not a good sign), and the Crazy Dates and Sliders the least. The bread arrived promptly. It was not a bread basket, but it was a small crispy loaf on the outside and warm and chewy on the inside. It came with a tasty olive oil and was arguably the best dish we were served. The rest of the food arrived lethargically. The Scallops were nicely cooked, fresh and tasty, but the pea puree was bland and did little to enhance the dish. The Crazy Dates were overcooked, they were wrapped in bacon which was very hard and dry, and the goat cheese overwhelmed the dish, you could barely taste the dates. My co-diner really disliked this dish and ate only a bite. The Sliders are supposed to arrive "medium" as in pink in the middle, thus the warning on the menu about "under cooked meat". I can assure you, that warning was not needed, as the slider arrived well done, tough and dry. I flooded it with ketchup in an attempt to make it palatable. While we were dining, we overheard the table behind us receiving information about the specials. They sounded interesting, but our waitress didn't mention these. That was unfortunate, perhaps those might have been better choices. Overall, the best we can offer this dining experience is two stars. Perhaps we visited at an off time, perhaps the regular chef was on vacation, or perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes. It certainly wasn't busy, so the kitchen shouldn't have been overwhelmed. I like this restaurant. I went there on a first date and it was a good place to do that. The food is very well thought out and prepared. Small portions. Decent wine list. A little loud for a first date it was very crowded. Couldn't get a seat at the bar. It's a small bar, but you can order several appetizers and they can bring them slowly and you can enjoy the light fair and good company. Food: we got the goat cheese, ahi tuna and duck entree. The goat cheese with the little jam on on the side was such a perfect touch with the pita crackers. You get a taste of the sweet from the jam and the slight tart from the cheese. The duck was cooked perfectly as it was tender and juicy flavors. The tuna being seared was my first time trying it in that style and I don't particularly hate it per se but I do think having a saltine sauce would've helped balance the fatty flavors for the tuna as well as the sweet potato that tends to be on the mellow side for flavor. The drinks were definitely on the heavier side for alcohol taste but very creative with the names and ingredients. Pretty bummed out that the fig drink doesn't have strawberry Lacore in it so they changed it up for pomegranate, which tasted fine, but almost similar to having like a Cape Cod cranberry with ginger beer. Service: our server was very nice. She made sure that we had everything that we needed and replenished our dishes promptly. Ambiance: it was pretty quiet on a Wednesday afternoon, but it's very casual with a different selection of seating from high tops to dining, casual and bar. If you are in Sturbridge, Brimfield area, this restaurant never fails to give great food and service. The stuffed dates and fried goat cheese are our go to appetizers. Delicious! I had soup of day, creamed onion and garlic. Also delicious. They have daily specials for entrees. All deserted are made on site. I had lemon raspberry tart, perfection. So lemony! We recently visited the Cedar Street Grille. Reviews looked promising so we drove about 45 minutes to check it out. We are so glad we did. My date had the Black Garlic Ricotta Gnocchi and the Lamb Kofta Sliders. I tried the Crispy Calamari and Smoking Gun Mac & Cheese. All dishes were outstanding as was the attentive service from Barbara and the ambiance. We've already made plans to return with friends in the near future, can't wait! A friend from Boston area and I from Hartford area meet here every few months for lunch. Great food fun area to walk around after.

Started out strong. Service was great and we opted for several appetizers and spirits. Then the server had a larger table come in and she disappeared. The initial appetizers came out reasonably fast but the server didn't return for our entire orders for 15 minutes or so thus we didn't see our dinner for close to 25 minutes after the order was finally put in.. After the appetizers we didn't see the server unless she was walking by. No opportunity to order another drink...so we finished the meals once they arrived and decided not to partake in desert for the sake of time. We will probably go back again but will avoid The salmon as it was excessively "fishy" and not something we would suggest. Maybe the second visit will be better...I guess it all depends on your server and your group size read more
