The food was very mediocre, felt like it was all way too salty for me. The NY strip was a tiny low quality piece of meat. I was overall unimpressed. Maybe I had a bad plate or it was just what I ordered. The service was phenomenal, loved my bartender (I sat and ate at the bar). She made great conversation and was attentive. The ambiance was amazing. Loud atmosphere but not too much that it makes you feel uncomfortable. Cute place, great wraparound bar area with TV's. read more

Nice spot to grab lunch with my friend. The bartender was very sweet and attentive, the drinks were well made. We ordered a pretzel, which was a solid okay. The cheese sauce was a bit runny making it hard to eat politely. We had a steak and cheese and a turkey sandwich, both with house chips. The water there tasted awful, we did have to order bottled. They should probably consider a filtration system. Before I came I thought this was a high end place but upon arrival realized it's quite casual. We were in the downstairs bar, I understand there is an upstairs so maybe that is fancier? Either way it's super laid back. I will say the bathroom near the bar need an update. It was not just dirty, it was run down and ragged. Our lunch /drinks for 2 was $180 with tip and I would expect a decent bathroom and drinkable water for that level of restaurant pricing. read more

Not a First rate Steak House, Ambiance is fine, good location. The Bone in Rib eye was ok, not worth the price or hype of a first-rate Steak House. Was totally disappointed with the Cesar Salad. Should have been a forewarning of what was to come. The lettuce was the but of the Romaine, I often throw away when making a Cesar. read more

My boyfriend and i went here for the first time for our anniversary. My favorite was the Mac and cheese. Was one of the best I've ever had. Both our steaks were cooked perfectly and was a great cut of meat. Poutine was the best I've had, the French fries stayed crispy and gravy was amazing. Overall we were very impressed with this restaurant and will be coming back ! read more

Very nice place. Restaurant prior to five is very private personal and fun if you want one on one time with your other half. Chicken Marsala was amazing nice and juicy lightly crusted. Potatoes were very good don't know what they are made with but melted in your mouth. Waitress was very nice and attentive. read more

My husband and I love this restaurant. We enjoyed dinner here to celebrate our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. The food was delicious and the staff was amazing. I love how they worked as a team. We requested our favorite waitress, Erin. She made our anniversary celebration extra special with her attentiveness to everything. read more

French. Onion. Soup. A couple years ago I had this at the Red Fox Bar and Grill in Jackson, NH, and thought it was so good none would ever top it. But Sturbridge Porterhouse did. The key was the savory broth and three types of onion. Cheese (Gruyère) and large croutons completed this delicious soup. My wife and I also had small Caesar salads, mind with added anchovies, and these were also great. We were there on Memorial Day (Monday) and it was really quiet, but I can imagine it would be crowded on weekends. read more

The food was delicious. Pricing matched a steakhouse. Access to a reasonably priced kids menu with basic options for them to choose from. Bathrooms were the biggest complaint. They smelled disgusting like a fish smell that couldn't be fixed or covered up but the air fresheners that they tried to mask it with. The server was kind and food came out pretty quickly. Not too crowded and nice open set up inside. read more

Went back here this Saturday when in the area. The place is still a great stop. It is very clean, cozy and welcoming inside. All staff were welcoming, friendly, professional and ga e great service. The food was still great. The fried brussel sprouts are so good, perfectly cooked and have a nice flavor. The soft pretzel with beer cheese is awesome and the chicken. Caprese sandwich we shared was very good too. Our bartender, and sorry for not remembering her name, was great too!! Will definitely be back when in the area. read more

Came for lunch and had such a wonderful time, we came back the same night, for dinner! Our bartender, Mike, was so friendly and personable. He recommended the steak sandwich, which was a giant hit!!! Had a salad (big) for my side. While simple, it was so fresh and tasty. Homemade dressing was over the top! Mike picked out a beer flight for me, which was a hit on every level. At dinner, had a beautifully prepared filet mignon, with whipped potatoes and haricot verts! Had another beer flight before dinner, which did not disappoint! read more

We sat at the bar and were blessed to have Tony as our bartender/server. He created a perfect dirty martini garnished with blue cheese-stuffed olives for me, and my husband had a beer. My husband had delicious chicken wings (huge portion), while l enjoyed my sweet onion soup. I had the salmon entree (cooked perfectly), and my husband ordered the 20 oz Rib Eye, which came with a tub of mashed potatoes and a tub of green beans. He LOVED it! Instead of ordering dessert, my spouse had another beer while l sipped on the scrumptious Pumpkin Martini. Tony is a wonderful bartender with a fun personality. He added to the overall pleasure of our experience at this establishment. read more

We celebrated our engagement here in 2022 and it was really good! Made reservations following our wedding ceremony in December 2025 and it wasn't great. Atmosphere was depressing, especially considering the price point. Unfortunately it feels like they're on their way out. Hoping they can rebound because it's a beautiful space. read more

Heading south and decided to stop for lunch. This was a great spontaneous stop - with great service, thank you Tayla, and yummy food. It was a bit noisy, and we thought it would be nice in the summer - sit outside. read more

Met up here with my best friend the other day and we split a delightful meal and caught up. I had the empress gin drink which was beyond delicious. The Brussels sprouts and strawberry salad were to die for, and we both loved them. My salmon entree was a very decent size so I ate only half and the other half heated well the next day. The strawberry shortcake creme brûlée was sadly a culinary fail. While taste wise it was good, the top didn't have a good crack to it and it was a bit watery. I also asked for decaf coffee. Was definitely given regular and was up until 5 am the next day. read more

Random stop for a late lunch on our way home (to MA) from CT. The restaurant was not very busy on a Tuesday afternoon. Location was convenient to Mass Pike. The interior was a little sparse but pretty. Linen tablecloths which made me it feel fancier than it is (at lunch anyway) Service was very good. Waitress was managing bar and tables without a long wait. We ordered cocktails to start so I tried the Blood Transfusion. I know sounds gross but was a fabulous blood orange, vodka, and ginger beer concoction. Very good. I took a photo of my drink and not my food which is shameful because the fries were outstanding. I had a fork n knife cheeseburger and the fries, did I mention they were outstanding!? Btw there was a $2 up-charge for the fries, just do it. My bonus mum ordered a Phillie cheese steak with fried and raved about it. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. read more

I ordered a glass of wine that never came. Not sure why. I ordered a Caesar salad (w/salmon) with dressing on the side that was dropped off at my table by someone in a rush (not my server). The dressing never came. When I asked another server passing by about the dressing, my original server came to examine the table because she was told the dressing was dropped off, and she came to see if it was hiding somewhere. After that she walked away & my dressing was brought out close to five minutes later. I had added avocado slices to my salad but had to remove them bc they were "seasoned" (never saw that before). The salmon & salad were fine once I did get to eat - although I asked for no salt & they definitely put salt on the salmon. This place is not too loud & has a nice bar where others were relaxing. It has a good vibe - just wish more care was taken to ensure patron's orders were correct. I was looking forward to the glass of wine. Oh well. read more

Great food and service. French onion soup is likely the best I've ever had. The salad is fresh, the sandwiches are generously sized, and the Great-tini is a must have!! Our server was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is a bit open and bright - only reason it's not 5 stars. read more

First time at this restaurant after discovering it's affiliated with Sturbridge Seafood which we love going to. Only 3 other tables of diners on a Friday around noon so it was very quiet. I had the Mac and cheese which was very flavorful and filling. I took 3/4 of it to go. My husband had a mid-rare burger with a side salad. Burger was cooked more than his liking, disappointing for a steakhouse. read more

My husband and I heard good things about this place but weren't sure. We decided to give it a try. Prices seemed a little high but if the food is good, people pay. Yum! Ordered French onion soup and shrimp cocktail. Soup was piping hot and really flavorful. The shrimp was jumbo and nice a cold. Dinner we shared the porterhouse with mashed potatoes and green beans with a side of mushrooms. The steak needed no sauce added at all. The potatoes were so good even my husband ate them and he is not a fan of mashed potatoes. The veggies all tasted fresh and, again, flavorful. Nice and attentive waitress and quick service. The place itself is okay looking - cute. We'll definitely keep this on the list of steak houses to go to. read more

The food was great, service was great, but too much noise from the bar area. Being an upper scale restaurant you would expect better ambiance. read more

Nice casual atmosphere. The menu offered up plenty of choices besides steak. My friend is not a steak eater and she opted for the Chicken Marsala. It was a generous portion and she was very pleased. I had the Filet Mignon. I ordered it medium rare. It was a tad over done but still very tender and flavorful. Next time and there will be a next time, I will order it rare. read more

Service was very good. The waitress was kind and attentive. The food was far below the quality you would expect for this price. You could get a similar quality steak at Outback Steakhouse for 10 bucks less. The worst part is the ambiance. Restaurant is loud, ugly inside, and cheap looking. Seems like a great place for drinks but not for dinner. read more

One of the best restaurants in Sturbridge, the Porterhouse has a great menu with excellent meals and service, no matter if you at a table or at their amazing bar. I went inside wanting a good steak. I was fortunate I was able to sit on the porch inside nice and warm. Although lunch did not offer steak, I was able to order one. I didn't choose the ribeye.
