This is the complaint email that went unanswered, I am writing this as a long-time, loyal customer who has supported this establishment since the new ownership took over. However, after our experience this past Sunday, I am incredibly frustrated to say that we will not be returning. The issues began before we sat down. We attempted to order the Valentine's Special as advertised, only to be told it wasn't available. When another member of our party tried to order a luncheon item, we were told it wasn't served on Sundays--despite the menu giving no indication of such a restriction. The service and food quality only declined from there. We ordered a large clam strip dinner, a lobster scampi, and a sea scallop dinner. After an excessively long wait, the food finally arrived, but it was a mess. My "large" clam strip dinner was relatively small, and instead of the lobster scampi, we were brought a lobster mac and cheese. When I informed the waitress of the mistake, she took the mac and cheese back, but it took another five minutes just for her to return and officially put the "rush" order in for the scampi. By the time my wife's meal finally arrived, the rest of us were completely finished eating. To make matters worse, the scampi was a total letdown--I've never seen a scampi served with a cheese sauce and no tomatoes. It was so unappealing she couldn't even finish it. To top off a day of errors, the waitress approached us after we placed the corrected scampi order to tell us we owed more money because she had initially charged us for the wrong item. Being asked to pay an upcharge for a mistake made by staff, especially after the kitchen failed to have the meal ready with the rest of the table, is completely unacceptable. We have enjoyed coming here in the past, but after the lack of professionalism and poor food quality we've seen over our last few visits, we have lost our confidence in this restaurant. read more

If you are looking for excellent service and seriously yummy food, come here!! First the service...Laurie was seriously fantastic and so pleasant and fun!! I love to have a good time and meet people and she met me there! Loved being able to laugh and joke!! She seriously went above and beyond even taking a pic of the ice cream menu so we didn't have to get up!!! The food, we had scallops, clam chowda, lobstah roll (hot butter) and some kinda chicken wrap. Everything was so amazing. Is the food cheap? You won't find better food or better people anywhere! The lobster rolls are the best around. They are big and absolutely delicious. They have both hot and cold. The lobster mac and cheese is stuffed with so much lobster, it is a great deal! And don't sleep on the clam fritters. They are amazing! On top of that it is a really cool nautical theme inside and there is a beautiful new patio. There is no point in going anywhere else. read more

I wanted a seafood plate with the works. I picked up my order and the bottom of the container was so soggy from the greasy onion rings that looked more like onion pieces and excess batter. There was even a burnt French but I did not get fried. Think little whole belly clams but there were lots of clams. For the 40 plus dollars I was very disappointed. After hearing reviews from friends I was hoping I had found my new seafood stop. Sadly I can not go back and give them a second chance. First traveled about 1 hour to get to this place! Sat in the bar area, did not bring the drink i ordered, ok not a big deal I drank what she brought, 30 min at least pass after ordering still didn't get soups...people arriving after us getting there food...waitree/bartender tells us food will be out in a minute plating it up, 10 minutes later kitchen person comes out and says never got a ticket..needless to say pissed and disappointed we l eft!! The Clambox does a very nice job with the New England Seafood basics, especially the Fish and Chips which was fried to perfection, couldn't have been better. I've only been twice but wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for those looking for quality seafood at a reasonable price. The menu also contains a large number of non seafood items for anyone looking for something different. As you enter the restaurant there are two windows on the right to place your order. Once orders are placed you move to the dining area. There is a condiment station for tartar sauce, ketchup and mustard. Moving on to the beverage station you then select your soft drinks, everything is self service. There is a bar for beer or wine as well. Each table has additional condiments such has hot sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper sugar and more. Love the seafood platter! Enough for two to share easily. The titanic is super fun, served in a big boat but be prepared for a ton of food! I'm not a fan of the coleslaw, too much mayonnaise and no flavor. Counter service can be clunky when busy, especially with 2 registers open and no system to keep track of who is next in the nonexistent line. Deli numbers at the door could solve the problem nicely. Food comes out quickly once ordered. Ice cream is delicious and obscenely huge!! Don't be discouraged by the full parking lot, somehow there is always an open table. The new location is more 'decorated' than the old but I don't have a strong preference. Happily, the food is the same. I'm a big fan of the whole belly clams, the fried haddock, the baked stuffed haddock. But don't overlook the burgers here, hearty, cooked to order and tasty. Food was ok. They are still in the old building. The clam portion was small and the server said they reduced it save $$. The clam chowder had a funny taste too it. The "NEW" Clam Box is so good!! The interior is absolutely stunning.. the bar is shaped like a ship with gorgeous resin countertops.. it's so fun to walk around and look at the details. Grand Re-Opening weekend. We finally went to the newly relocated Clam Box in East Brookfield. It was basically their grand re-opening weekend. It was a Friday night and it was packed. Which is good and bad. Good for them and the support from all of us, but bad as they ran out of seating quickly. The take out orders backed up and were about 30 min behind and the new space seemed small and cramped under the duress. The staff was wonderful and tried their best to keep up. When we finally got our take out home we were missing parts of the order and what was given to us was wrong. The food, as good as it was didn't make up for the mistakes. Maybe when it settles down we will give it another shot. Maybe not, the prices like everywhere else increased also. Time will tell. read more

Called in for a Fisherman Plattter..."15-20 minutes" for pickup. Got there in 15 minutes and waited another 20 minutes. Average business, no overflow waiting for walk-ins. Got my order Got home and piece of fish was the size of a dollar bill. Looked for my cole slaw...nothing. pulled out my cocktail sauce and ketchup in containers and both were semi frozen. Scallops and shrimp batter fell off when moved. FOR $40 you would think quality would be alt better. Hostess was also more concerned about cell phone and gossip then being attentive to customers. I went in for ice cream tonight and it was a circus. Not one person who walked in knew what to do. The place was pretty busy. I waited at the outside window for ice cream before realizing you cannot order outside. So I went inside and had to ask where to order ice cream. There is one ice cream menu right next to the register so I panick ordered two items without really have a chance to view the menu. Waiting for my ice cream; I witnessed multiple people walking in wondering where to go, what to do, lots of confusion and it seemed like the younger staff didn't have the answers either. It will probably get better as they progress in their new location but I will wait again before going for ice cream. They need a better system! read more

Follow up to my previous post. I need to again mention that the kitchen is very slow... I mean ridiculously slow! Stopped in for a drink and some mozzarella sticks, 50 minutes!! For something that is literally thrown in a deep fryer and takes all of maybe 10 minutes. Thank goodness the bartenders were attentive and sweet but an hour for mozzarella sticks is the most ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed. I think we will stick to just drinks here and maybe an ice-cream but until the kitchen can keep up, we will eat elsewhere. read more

Went to the "new" Clambox. was disappointed. Very busy, EXTREMELY LOUD. I ordered clam cakes and bowl of clam chowder. Had no waitress due to ordering when we arrived. Clam Chowder was barely warm when served. Clam cakes were very over cooked; were tough and chewy. They need to make changes; more help, cut menu in half, kitchen changes to get food served faster. read more

Incredibly disappointing. Ordered baked stuffed haddock. Yes... There was haddock. Way overcooked. The stuffing was interesting. Normally haddock stuffing is on top. This particular haddock had copy crab beneath the haddock and was mushy and tasteless. There was some kind of cracker crumbs on top with no butter and was way overcooked. Coleslaw was mushy and tasteless. French fries were skinny and way overcooked. This is the first time I've ever posted a negative review. We made our third and, unfortunately our last, visit to The Clam Box this weekend. Saturday lunchtime was moderately busy, and we were offered the only table available: a two-cover in between two large families. We opted instead to sit at the bar after ordering in the foyer. Others have mentioned the slowness of the kitchen. This was our experience as well. The major disappointment was the food. My companion ordered the large sea scallops platter, market priced at a ridiculous $35. The portion was small and we both questioned whether they were actually seal scallops. My garden salad, which I ordered with grilled shrimp for an extra $9, came as a bowl of lettuce with about 1/4 af a mangled tomato, no cucumber, no anything else interesting other than julienned carrots. For $18 this salad needs to be better. The menu mentioned cucumber, but it must have been the elusive and mysterious magical disappearing sea cucumber, because there was none. For the same price we could have had two decent steaks at Ruth's Chris Steak House. read more
