I visited as part of #RIFoodFights #LordoftheWings competition and this was my first time ever here. Set up as a biker friendly roadside bar and certainly look the part. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and was impressed by the amount of beers they had on tap and selection of local craft options. I tasted the barbecue wings and they were solid. My only negative for them would be they charged me extra for my side of ranch sauce ($.50). But I'll say that's outweighed by how cheap the beer prices are there, so overall net positive bonus points!! it's pretty far away from where I live, but wouldn't hesitate to go there again if I was ever in the area. read more

Unfortunately the day has come for my first ever 1-star review. A few weeks ago, I arrived (so hungry) at Cady's Tavern with a group of friends (also so hungry) for a quick bite to eat. At the door, we were stopped immediately & asked "do you have tickets" with no explanation to which we answered no. We were then told that the show inside was a ticketed show & therefore we couldn't come in. We explained that we were just there for dinner. The door person said we could order food out on the patio if we insisted, accidentally hitting me in the face as she was gesturing. So we maneuvered our way through the busy bar to the patio out back to scope out the scene. There were a few available picnic tables, so my group claimed one of them as I headed to the bar. I asked the bartender "can we order food here with you?" to which she answered yes, while eyeing me up & down. I asked for a few menus & 4 glasses of water for my group. The bartender instead gave me 4 bottles of water. Ugh. Back at our picnic table, I remarked out loud to my group "do I have something on my face?" because from the moment we entered the tavern, I felt like everyone (both staff & patrons) was examining me like a bug under a microscope. We fell into hangry silence as we checked out the menu & I noticed immediately that there were no allergy markings anywhere on the menu. I can't have gluten. It makes me very sick. I'm not happy about that - believe me! One of the greatest tragedies of my life was learning that I couldn't drink beer anymore. The menu is mostly pub classics & I really wanted a burger (I saw recently that Cady's Tavern was listed on a Yelp Collection for great burgers in the state). The menu said to "advise" my server of "any food allergies" & so I returned to the bar to ask about gluten-free accommodations. I explained the situation & asked very politely if there was anything they could do so that I could have the burger. I really miss being low-maintenance, but I know (having worked in the service industry for 15 years) that major changes are happening surrounding allergy awareness & accommodations. I've had burgers on lettuce "buns," burgers without buns, burgers on gluten-free buns, & other creative modifications at the most unlikely of places. So when I politely asked the bartender if they could modify the order because of my situation, she reacted like I had asked her the most outlandish question imaginable. She looked me up & down again, let out a rude "pffft" & said, "we don't do that kind of stuff here." I said "oh, okay" & walked away. I was shocked. I relayed the interaction to my group & we decided that we had no interest in ordering food. We paid for our bottles of water (UGH!) at $2 each & made our way back through the stuffy bar & out to the (unpaved) parking lot. The feeling that Cady's Tavern gave me was really horrible. The covert judgement, the overt impudence, & the implications on food safety & allergy awareness left me with a pit in my stomach. I always try to give businesses & their employees the benefit of the doubt when things go awry, but I don't think I can do that here. read more

We always have a freaking blast at Cady's, excellent pub food, and great people whether they know you or not, with hubby and myself both being bikers always helps..lol, I do however have a suggestion for Rachael O, next time you should be on the lookout for the nearest Panera Bread with all your complications, not a biker bar..just saying! People totally rock at Cady's like I said whether you know them or not, Great place for fun, food, and MUSIC!, If you haven't tried Cady's Tavern yet you're missing out on all the fun! Very vibrant environment and while it's primarily bar service, the quality of the food and the time to prepare it demonstrates the quality delivered... we tasted basic buffalo and garlic parm and both were excellent and well portioned with value. read more

Yes, it's a dive bar. But grab yourself a burger and a drink. There are wonderful people who attend the live music events who truly love the music and are friendly as ever. The quality of the musicians is notable. The servers are very sincere and do a great job. When I was there, it was packed. Lisa did a phenomenal job making sure we had everything we needed. There is a beautiful area out back with a fire pit. There is also a porto-potty to help with the long line to get to the women's restroom. The stall is VERY narrow, so it might be a good idea to make your way out back. Overall, great vibe. The fries are DELICIOUS, BTW! read more

Always fantastic times here! Food and Drinks are served by a Great bunch of people! The location is close by some nice Parks and everyone seems to be there to relax, somewhat. Very nice inside "Olde school Tavern" vibe. Nice chatting with people there and you'll hear a lot of local stories. Outside space is nice if it's not too hot out and always great people watching. Wings and selection of sauces are worth asking your server about the "heat factor" . If they say it's HOT believe them! Listen to the people's conversations of the local spots to heave some nice rides! read more

Driven by this place many, many times and never stopped in. Boy have we been missing out... Stopped by with the hubby, luckily we hit upon Wednesday Wing Special!! $.35 wings with so many flavor choices, almost too many to choose... as well as lots of other menu items to try! We chose: Thai Ginger, Honey Mustard, & Sweet Teriyaki Along with a gourmet stuffie and homemade chips with their own special Cajun dip. All were delicious!! Fast and friendly service!! We will definitely be back again, we already know which flavors we'll be trying next time! read more

If you want a comfortable bar with a local vibe and great food, go to Cady's. Went here tonight to try the wings, and was amazed at the beer selection (20 choices on tap) and the large pub food menu. So many wing flavors - we tried St Louis Sensation, which is their most popular sauce, and we also tried Bourbon Peach. Both were excellent, full of flavor and just a hint of spiciness. We also got a half order of nachos, which was delicious, and larger than full orders in most other restaurants. The bartender/waitress was super friendly and all around awesome. She let us know all about the weekly live music schedule and the ghostly experiences people have had at Cady's. Prices are very reasonable, and there are food specials nearly every day of the week. Looking forward to going back to hear some live music. read more

If you've ever walked in as an 'outsider' to an unknown tavern or local watering hole and had every eye shift in your direction...this one is for you. I ordered over the phone, purely based on their food reviews. I wanted a good burger so stinkin bad. They had a plethora of options. I placed my order and shortly thereafter made my way. Upon arrival I didn't think much of the appearance. Seemed casual, typical. I entered at 1pm ish...walking through the door I heard the proverbial record player screech as every head turned in my direction! Every and I mean EVERY bar stool was taken. Nary a one was open! It is worth mentioning that not a single person opted to dine in lol unfortunately, no one was behind the bar either. I shuffled over to a corner and waited patiently. Thankfully, a young lady came out shortly with an order and promptly helped me. All that to say, I ate an amazing lunch in the private commons of my office. Wonderful Dive Bar Cady's, a biker dive bar out in the woods near the CT border. I worked in CT for years and never stopped here, I missed out Bar: The bar always has a deal going on and their craft beers are $3.50, pretty tough to beat that. The night we went they had a great live band and the crowd was actually pretty normal and super friendly. Food: Ordered wings and chili and both were really good. Quality scratch made items, not bad for a dive bar. Service: The bartender Tonya is wonderful and the rest of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hail to Cady's, we'll be back soon. Stopped in while on our little brewery tour of upper RI. It was one of those places that you aren't sure you should go into. LOL! We are very glad we did! It was great! I had a burger and fries, burger was cooked perfectly to order. Super fresh lettuce and tomatoes and a fantastic bun! Wish I had thought to ask where they got them. French fries were amazing , light and crispy and not at all greasy. Hubby got a meatball grinder he said was fantastic. Visually , it was super appitizing. Loved that they had Whalers Rise on tap, but if course,but is RI. Yesterday's entertainment was a Meat Raffle? Had no idea what that meant, but a friendly patron was MORE than happy to tell us about it! . Not sure if I would ever find myself back in this pretty, quiet corner of RI, but would definitely stop here again. Well done! read more

I went on the recommendation of a friend. Then I was told it was a biker bar. I decided to find out for myself. Having just moved to Cranston I thought it would be good to explore. I went in and heard music. I was told it was a blues jam and the band played a lot of classic rock I grew up with. It was a casual crowd, but guys with beards and their girlfriends having a beer with friends, talking and a few dancing. The dance floor is very small but we made the best of it. Everyone was friendly and nice. There is a horseshoe bar near the entrance and they serve food. I ordered a fish sandwich that came with fries. One of the best fries I ever had! It had a nice variety of popular meals. I had a good time and the music was good and played very well. A little loud for me so I used ear plugs. A great place to hang out with people of all ages. The building used to be an inn at one time and has been around since the 1930's. A rustic decor with lots of wood. The atmosphere was comfortable and I enjoyed myself. It reminded me of a bar up in North country like NH. One of the few places you can go and get free entertainment and no cover charge. The food is very good and you can have a nice dinner and drinks there knowing it supports all those who work there. There is a 1.50 charge for using a credit card on top of the food and drinks. The Blues jam goes from about 2-7, so get there on time as parking starts to fill up. You'll have a good time, I'm sure! read more

The Easter Bunny had some special treats in his basket this year! After distributing all those beautiful colored eggs to children around the world, he had a few tasty blues treats he dropped off at Cady's Tavern for our entertainment. This week's Sunday Blues Jam was hosted by none other than, get ready for this, Neal Vitullo of Neal and the Vipers fame! For a guy like Neal who plays over 200 dates a year with his band to find time to host a jam session at Cady's is beyond me. The only logical answer is love. Love of his craft? Love of his fans? I suppose. But I have a feeling it may be his love of the blues. He brings to the table class and skills that rival any musician out there today. He breathes freshness into old standards. No....breathe may not be accurate. He incinerates them old tired songs. His playing modernizes those old tired, mundane riffs. He lights a fire under the asses of old classics making them sound fresh and exciting. Son of a b***h, where did he learn to play? Neal was backed by my favorite local drummer Ned Peabody and Scott Hopkins on bass. Today there was even a keyboard player to fill out the sound. There was a close friend of mine sitting in for a few tunes today as well. Fred Greer, or as he is known around the blues circles, Southside Freddie. As always, Freddie put on a wonderful show. He had that old Shure Green Bullet shooting flames out. Fred has been hosting his own blues jam on Saturday nights but is now looking to broaden his fan base. Check his FaceBook page for latest info and dates. As in past weeks, Cady's Tavern never ceases to amaze me. Today they introduced me to a young up and coming guitar wizard. Kenny Pilon is that man. Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, Kenny was nothing short of fantastic. At certain points of his guitar soloing, I was sure the sprinklers were surely going to go off. This young man is the real deal. I have no clue as to why he isn't signed with a major label yet (hear that Alligator Records?) My mind conjured up thoughts of other guitarist such as a Buddy Guy, Prince, Kenny Wayne, but the one he reminded me most of is Jon Butcher. Had he slowed down his playing for a moment and started playing If Wishes Were Horses, that would have sent me over the edge! What a fantastic talent he is. Oh, lest I forget. We were also entertained by yet another wonderful performer named Jonny Debit. Jonny is a formidable figure. But what an excellent entertainer. Armed with a guitar that looks like a toy in his powerful Viking like grasp, he did nothing short of singing and playing his butt off! Jonny's take on older classic country songs like from Johnny Cash made them exciting to hear again. Who said you can never go home again? Jonny took us home but in a new souped-up hot-rod. Way to go! Have been here a few times on motorcycle runs and few times to catch a band and drinks with friends. It's a warm cozy saloon type bar. On motorcycle runs the staff has always been good and inviting and handled a rush at once pretty efficiently. On other nights I have been there have been really good bands, a lively and fun crowd and good service. I like what they have done to improve the outdoor area. If you like a good saloon bar and good local bands then Cady's is a good stop. read more
