I live in a town with so many fantastic restaurants, so when a new one opens, I'm always curious--but sometimes a little hesitant. Trail Dusters Tap & Table caught my eye with its country-style comfort food, but I wasn't sure if there would be enough healthy options. I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was casual, warm and welcoming. They initially told us there would be a 20-minute wait, but we were seated in less than 10 minutes, which was a nice surprise. I started with the Southern Belle--a watermelon spicy margarita--and it was perfect. Just the right balance of sweetness and heat, refreshing and well-crafted. For my meal, I had the roasted turkey dinner, and it was delicious. The turkey was tender, the sides were flavorful, and the portion was generous. 4 stars for the country fried steak, fried green tomatoes, and excellent service. The rest was a big no from me. The broccoli slaw was off and the loaded mashed potatoes were strange. Never met a potato I didn't love until today. And it was greasy/oily af. Loaded mashed does not need to be reinvented....get those weird spices outta there. The fries looked hand-cut and yummy...I should have probably ordered those. The tea tasted like it had soured and even the water was funky. When I tell you the food was good, it was really good! I got the Turkey Dinner and it was amazing!! Wings are to DIE for!! Our waiter seemed to not know how the ordering machine they have works. Me and my friend ate here for the first time, and both of us got the cow girl sirloin steak and smashed taters (thing it was smashed tater tots) gross gross gross! It was advertised as an 8 oz steak, more like 6oz and 2oz of fat, and the smashed tatters so mashed potatoes with way to much rosemary or pepper! We went to visit our friends Gary & Lori to support their new venture in Sturbridge this past weekend. They've been open a little over a month and had a very steady flow of people coming in. We started with the wings, let me tell you about these wings they were absolutely delicious, we had Pickledilly & Nashville Hot. Of course, my favorite was the Pickledilly. Our lovely bartender/waitress Nichole whipped up a super tasty loaded, bloody mary. I'm pretty sure she broke the bloody mary record with how many she was pumping out, and it goes to show how good they are! Gary then brought us some haystack to try. They are slice jalapeños fried in a super tasty batter with ranch. I've never had anything like them. Some weren't hot, but every couple you'd get a seed, and it had a great kick but was balanced out with the batter and ranch. He also gave us a sample of the bologna sandwich, with the chunkiest piece of bologna and damn was it delicious! As we sat, I got parched and was able to taste a sample of the dust bowl and ordered a gold dust Martini, both tasted delicious. Full to the gills, I couldn't leave without getting some ranch beans and corn bread with honey butter to go. The ranch beans are an equal bean and ground beef ratio, amazing! The corn bread was soft and fluffy, add the honey butter... wow! I insist everyone takes a ride to Sturbridge to check out this hidden gem off of route 20 and the pike with a cowboy theme. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious, waitstaff was friendly and checked in often and ensured all needs were met! Price point was really affordable considering how expensive some other options in Sturbridge are! Very cutely decorated and very clean, enough music so you don't feel like you're encroaching on others conversations but can still hear. We visited Trail Dusters Tap and Table today. We're locals and based on everything we've heard to date about this place, we had high expectations and it did not disappoint! Drinks were quick and delicious; I had the spicy watermelon margarita (can't remember the official name). It was not too sweet, which I really appreciate because a lot of places will just do a marg with a premade mix and it's not nearly as good. I had the triple decker Rueben, which was excellent. I asked for extra sauce on the side (because I am someone that likes an excess of sauce) and they were happy to oblige! My husband had the chicken fried steak and said it was the best he's had (which is saying quite a lot, since we have spend a lot of time visiting Texas and the South). The staff was exceptionally pleasant. They engaged and checked in without being overly chatty. Overall, highly recommend and very excited to return and out the rest of the menu! read more

We had fun. The place was not our style, but once we arrived we figured "Why not, we're here"? It's a country theme with dart boards and music to match. A little rough around the edges. Let's put all that aside. The food is very, very good. I've been around the block a few times, and I am telling you I had one of the best, most tastiest hamburgers I have ever had anywhere. It was perfection. The burger is sizeable. Nothing small about it. And it was delicious. I had The Outrider. It was an 8 oz. burger with pickles, tomato, red onion and chedder cheese on a perfect brioch roll. Everything melded together for a delicious treat. My wife had the Sundance Steak and Cheese. So excited to have found this little gem spot! Was greeted in a friendly, warm way and guided to my reserved seats by Harley. Sat at the bar with a friend and was well taken care of by Corey. Great country vibe. Loved the music. Food choices were great. I had the cornbread to taste and it was delicious. Had the shrimp on skewers with fried okra and broccoli slaw. it was nice to try a new place but it was only so-so. the food was "fine" but nothing special to rush back for. i felt the bar was a little weirdly situated and kind of on top of dining room tables. waitress was very nice but wasn't sure how to split checks on the credit card machine (should have had training). i did like the live music read more

What a cool new place! Country themed bar/restaurant with great service and food. We sat at the bar, my wife was very happy with her cocktail and I had a cold local beer. They have a lot of taps and a very decent bourbon and liquor selection. Our bartender Nicole was great! We shared some winds and the cowboy eggrolls, both were delicious. Tried eating here many times because wanted to like it but I'm convinced it's never going to be good. It's all together sloppily run. High prices for basic food that is underwhelming to say the least the last time tried to eat here the vegetables tased like they put in a container that had soap or something. Everything tasted off. I can't understand how this place has made it this far because I predict it will be closed by next year. The whole design is wrong as well the decor tacky. Menu too all over the place and the fact they have chicken Parmesan is weird when it's a Texas bbq" supposedly. To me that is an indication that they are unsure of themselves and put on the menu in case because it doesn't belong there. Anyway i stopped trying to get ripped off here no more attempting. The service was ok but the last time there was a girl who took forever not sure what she was doing but the place was empty. When we walked in she made us wait while she ate a piece of candy she actually told us we needed to wait until she was done. She had a stupid cowgirl hat on. The $14 dirty martini was only 3/4 filled was a huge disappointment bc not dirty and very WEAK!! How can you make a weak Martini?! The extra olives requested were appreciated. Ruben sandwich ordered and requested it to be well toasted....it was BURNT!! Asked for extra dressing and raw red onions and was CHARGED for them! both! 50 cents for 3-4 extremely thinly sliced onions...also for dressing bc not enough on Ruben! Medium rare burger was also ordered w/extra cheese....Burger was VERY well done...completely brown inside and very, very DRY....No extra cheese as ordered, but they did bring more at another UP charge! They had NO Pinot Grigio wine and NO provolone cheese in the restaurant.... IF they want return business....MAKE a decent drink w/a normal Pour and don't dilute the martini!!! Don't charge extra for requested raw onions, sauce or cheese that was requested from the beginning. Your prices are already TOO HIGH! LOWER your prices!!!! WAY TOO $$$$ for the quality of food...or lack of quality except for the pork egg rolls. All in all, a HUGE disappointment. Will NOT go back again. read more
