This is a great spot when you are in the mood for comfort, home cooking style food. We have only had their prime rib dinners but we love them and you can't beat the prices! The service is always very friendly and they do curbside pickup if you ask.

Well established restaurant that features both a formal dining room and a lively bar area. Food is consistently good, portions are fair and wait staff attentive without being overbearing. In the bar ask for Adam to make you a perfect Manhattan!

I drove all the way out here for fresh seafood, not a surprise episode of Restaurant: The…read moreReckoning. The sign says Fish Market & Chowder Company, but what you walk into is 95% restaurant, 5% "technicality fish market," and that last 5% is doing the kind of work that would make a union rep cry. Let's be clear: The Angler is no longer selling fresh seafood. Not in any meaningful, market‑based, "take this home and cook it" way. What they are selling is the idea of a fish market -- the ghost of one -- while running a packed dining room full of people slurping oysters like it's a Cape Cod tourist trap in July. And speaking of tourist traps: They've got a tour bus parked outside. A tour bus. For a "local fish market." That's like seeing a stretch limo outside a Dollar Tree -- you immediately know something is off. As a chef, my time is valuable. As a food reviewer with an actual show, my time is documented. And nothing ticks me off faster than false advertising dressed up as nostalgia. If you've abandoned the fresh fish counter because the restaurant side makes more money? Fine. But update your signage. Update your branding. Stop wasting people's gas and goodwill. I walked in looking for fresh haddock. What I got was wall‑to‑wall oyster eaters and not a single square foot dedicated to what the sign promised. You can get oysters anywhere. You cannot get a proper local fish counter everywhere -- and certainly not in a space this cramped. If ownership wants to reach out and explain the pivot, I'm open to it. I'll even give them a redemption arc on one of my platforms. But right now? This new direction is the wrong fit for the location, the footprint, and the legacy they're trading on. Call me when you're ready to rebuild. I'll help. But today? Today was a misstep -- and an avoidable one.

We…read morewere seated promptly at a nice round table in one of the rooms off the main dining area. The noise level was comfortable, making it easy to have a conversation. The restaurant has a classic, upscale feel, with dark wood and dark floors throughout. Our server came right over, and we started with three orders of bacon-wrapped scallops ($16.99 for four) to share. They were cooked perfectly and served with a delicious pineapple salsa, which was a unique addition that I had never had with scallops before and really enjoyed. We also ordered a bottle of Belle Glos Pinot Noir from Sonoma ($60) for the table. Our server recommended it as a well-priced, tasty option. I had tried this wine before, so I appreciated the suggestion and was happy with the choice. Most of the table also ordered a cup of clam chowder, which was thick, hearty, and very enjoyable. It tasted like it had bacon bits in it, which added to the flavor. For my main course, I ordered the Crab Stuffed Sole ($42.99), served over rice, with a cup of clam chowder for an additional $3. The fish was cooked well and the portion was generous. The flavor was a little mild, and I would have liked a bit more sauce, but overall, it was a very enjoyable dish that left me feeling full and satisfied. For dessert, I split the tiramisu (approximately $11) with another person at the table. The portion was huge, and even split in half it was a lot. While it was good, it had a little more cream than flavor, but I still enjoyed it. I also ordered a decaf espresso, which I appreciated they had available, although it was not really hot. Our server was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable, and full of energy. Despite the restaurant being very busy, the food came out at a good pace, and we never had to wait long for anything we needed. Overall, this was a great place for a group dinner. The portions were generous, the service was excellent, and the food was enjoyable. The prices are on the higher side, so this is more of a place for a special occasion or an upscale dinner. However, I very much enjoyed my experience and would recommend it.
