Everything I've ever ordered has ranged from very good to excellent. Oysters always fresh, cocktails excellent (try the blood orange cosmo) and banging burgers. Love the ambiance of both the tavern and riverside. Music in the tavern on Thursdays is always a pleasure. Great outdoor dining at the grill with music, sometimes karaoke, games etc. Both good service and value IMO.

Pathetic. A double smash burger should be easy. Not sure how they came up with the soggy mess they served me. Nasty greasy mostly burnt fries like they gave us what they cleaned out of the frier from last night. Mushy cold shaved prime rib slider with lukewarm au jus. The waitress had to go back to the bar to get some more martini to finish filling the glass. The free oyster that came with the martini apparently needed a vinegar douche for some reason. A little scary, definitely not remotely tasty. I won't even go into how bad the waitress was.

Been here a couple of times. Always friendly and love dogs. The food and drinks are great and the view is amazing. The weather plays a huge pArt in this place because it's all outside. But go and love it. I know you will

Enjoyed a lovely, summer evening by the river, under the gently swaying willows. We each had a delicious and summery vodka Collins and shared an app of steamed clams. The clams were tender and in a tasty, garlicky broth that we sipped up greedily with toasted bread rounds. Yum! I had the Smashburger single with side of potato salad. He had the Smashburger double with beans. Delicious. They came dressed with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and delicious sauce of their own. Perfect.

Wall hanging.

We enjoyed the old movie and music theme in this updated prior rectory. After spending the last several years of travel in hotels and Airbnb's, we have come to remember how personal and inviting B&Bs are. This particular one, however, is one of the best. The BB is two blocks from Warren Street for quick access to restaurants and shops. There is also a retail shop on Warren Street where you can spot many of the unique items from the house. The shop is very well curated. We stayed in Room 5 which has a private deck off the room that my husband used every morning and evening. It's the room with the beautifully updated blue bathroom. The only thing missing from the room and the bathroom was brighter light - our eyes no longer perform as well in dim lighting! We spent most of the mornings and afternoons on several hikes throughout the area - all of them peaceful and beautiful. The waterfalls at the end were stunning.

Cozy, inviting and relaxing. Joe and Courtney were wonderful hosts. Great location about a block…read morefrom Warren Street and all the restaurants and shops. The breakfasts in the morning were banging yummy. The rooms were quiet, quaint and well appointed. Great bathroom products and the bedding was super. Decor is very music and movie oriented which was also fun. Here's a pic if breakfast bacon grilled cheese topped with eggs Benedict and local tomato salad.

I chose to stay at the Nautical Nest for my second trip to Hudson, NY. I liked that it was closer…read moreto shops, galleries, and restaurants on the west side of Warren St that I had missed during a previous visit. The Nautical Nest is the second property of the owners of Nest Hudson. Of the four units, I booked a second floor room with a balcony after researching details on several third party websites. As the name suggests, the room had a nautical theme with a well-chosen decor and nice finishes. It included a king-sized bed (very comfortable mattress), chest of drawers topped with a beverage station, and a desk. The bathroom was bright, with great quality towels and strong shower pressure. Nest Hudson shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. My favorite feature, however, was the Nespresso coffeemaker in the room! This was very convenient, and I was happy to have a high quality coffee everyday. I also enjoyed the balcony for morning coffee and to relax later in the day. An outdoor patio is next to the building. There is also a communal kitchen with a small fridge, microwave, and tea kettle that some guests seemed to use quite often. Individually wrapped snacks and tea are located there, and replenished every few days. A few tips: 1. The Nautical Nest listings on multiple third party websites state that there is "free parking." In reality, it is free STREET parking. Fortunately, I visited during a less busy week, so I was able to secure parking on the same street as the hotel, City Hall Pl, most days. However, parking is not allowed there from 9pm Wednesday to 8am Thursday, so I moved my car to the nearby Union St. Unfortunately, Union St is subject to alternate street parking rules. There is no signage to indicate which is an "even" vs "odd" side of the street, so a ticket will be issued if you park on the wrong side of the street. I was unaware of this parking issue prior to booking my reservation. I notified the owners to update their third party website listings. They may also want to arrange parking for guests in a nearby municipal lot as some other hotels on Warren St have done. 2. The Nautical Nest is an older building, so floors and stairs are creaky. You will hear anyone who is up and about early, including housekeeping. If your room has a window A/C unit, street noise will be quite audible (road construction, back up truck alarms, etc). I purchased ear plugs after waking up to the sound of a jack hammer the first morning of my stay. Prior to my arrival, I also received two requests to "keep noise at a minimum" and "be mindful of other guests" in informational emails from management. I also received an additional reminder when notified that my room was ready for check in. Although I understand the intent, I thought this was a bit much. Overall, the Nautical Nest is a quality boutique hotel. I enjoyed my room as it was quite spacious and comfortable. Although I was stressed about the parking situation, other guests may be less concerned. If you are a "morning person," the sounds inside and outside of the building may not be bothersome.

We decamped at the Nautical Nest for a quick Covid getaway…read more The Good: --Excellent communication with the owner; He even graciously allowed us an hour early check-in as we were trying to beat a snow storm --Delicious bed - it was hard to get out of! The bedding was so voluptuous that I had to email to find out the brand of sheets/duvet! --Location - right off the center of Warren Street, plenty of parking on the street --Luxurious shower, and I hate showers The Not as Good: --It's a renovated old house and it creaks. Everyone sounded like an elephant stampeding past the door. I was glad we were on the second floor and hope we didn't disturb those below us too much --No coffee! Please add coffee service. A Keurig machine, some milk in the fridge, some little sugar packets go a long hospitable way! They did have an espresso machine, but we are not in Italy. I need my good old American coffee to start the day - please don't send me out into the cold to get it!

The place doesn't look like much from the outside. At first, there appears to be only a small parking lot in front. However, there's a large larger parking lot in the back. The entire staff warmly greets you upon check-in. I asked how the name The Wick came about. We were informed that this facility had been an old candle factory. Throughout the hotel, there's silver plated plaques on the candle making machines. Our room was nice and clean. More than enough towels for a one night stay. A sweet welcoming note was left on the dresser along with a mini bag of Tate's chocolate chip cookies. The beds were clean and comfortable. The hotel does have a small bar and dining room for breakfast lunch and dinner. Nothing fancy. We did have a lite dinner the first evening we arrived. The food was pretty good. The vegetable egg rolls were really tasty. The Caesar salad could've done without the anchovies. The anchovy taste lingered too long. I had a side grilled chicken with the salad. All the employees make you feel welcome and are very helpful. The hotel is within, walking distance of the local train and eateries. As we checked out, Abby was a big help filling the plastic container with their Wick logo with lemon water and ice. Definitely would return.
