For me, a place with really good soup generally is really good across the board. Valley View Saloon…read morehas amazing soup, and the rest of the food is quite good. I had the daily special Chicken Enchiladas soup, and it was fantastic. It was kind of like a chicken corn chowder, deep chicken broth flavor, and lots of tasty corn. The tortilla strips give it a nice texture. I had the Cobb salad. It was huge, and really high quality ingredients. The chicken breast was clearly fresh, and the avocado and tomato's were at the perfect ripeness. My son had the chicken parm, and it was also great. Their homemade marinara was delicious, and the chicken parm was really good. I liked the breading as it was nice and crunchy. Also, the service is impressive. Every member of the waitstaff is personable and friendly, and they are highly efficient. The food comes out at the right time, and the time between courses is right.

We started with the homemade meatballs, mozzarella sticks, and buffalo wings. The buffalo wings were crisp and well flavored. The mozz sticks were crisp and had the perfect cheese pull as you ate each one. The meatballs were also huge and delicious as they are made from scratch in house. All of our entrees were also huge portions and delicious. I would say the only complaint was the burger lacked basic seasonings a little salt and fixed no problem. Service was very friendly and efficient here.

Space Bacon was playing when I came here and tickets were very reasonably priced. There is also ample parking here. The inside has a large bar and tables and a repurposed fire pit to sit at. There is an old run down ski ball and basketball machine which would really be fun to use if they were functioning. There is food here mostly hot dogs, fries, and late night bar food at higher prices as well.

- #TBT REVIEW -…read more Three years ago, as part of a long weekend ski vacation, we visited here with tickets in hand for RUSTED ROOT! Yup, a bar/club that usually sees the likes of smaller cover bands and local DJs managed to lock down Rusted Root! Not only that, but our $25 general admission tickets got us as close as 5 feet away from the stage of this cozy venue. Despite the sellout crowd (thank goodness we bought in advance), the bar wasn't overly packed. We were able to snag reasonably-priced drinks throughout the night and groove back to the dance floor for the three hours they were on stage. Bartenders were overwhelmed but friendly, and drink prices ($5-8) weren't overly "taxed." If you're staying at either the Snow Lake Lodge or the Lodge at Mount Snow, Snow Barn is just a short walk away. If staying elsewhere, you can catch the free MOOver (http://www.moover.com) shuttle, but be warned that their service stops at 5pm. From reading the recent negative reviews, it's a shame to hear that Snow Barn has perhaps gone downhill from the times we visited. Again, we went for the concert, so if you're in the same camp, I'd suggest you check the music calendar (http://mountsnow.com/livemusic) and plan your visit accordingly. At the very least, you can always enjoy a bit of history...The Snow Barn used to be Reuben Snow's barn, who owned the base-area land. After the land was purchased by Walt Schoenknecht in the 50s, it was converted into a ski lodge before being once again converted into the bar/club it is today.

We held my sister-in-law's memorial luncheon there, and during what was an emotional and difficult day for our family, they made everything feel so much easier. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, but what stood out most was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, kind, and incredibly thoughtful throughout the entire luncheon. They helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that allowed us to focus on being together and remembering someone we loved. We truly couldn't have asked for a better place to gather with family and friends. Thank you to everyone at the 1846 Tavern for helping make a difficult day a little more beautiful. We will always remember your kindness.

Oysters, Oysters, Oysters…read more We rolled in after attending a fall festival down the road aways. We hadn't been here in quite some time, so we were looking forward to coming back. It was great! We went with oysters and a pretzel. The pretzel was great! The oysters were awesome. The staff knew their stuff and our server was able to give us recommendations based on what we liked. Service was excellent, wonderful selection of beers and my wife had the wine she likes. The inside of the tavern is really cool. It's an older building and they really kept the character. The tavern has all high top tables and a bar. Added bonus; a Porsche Club gathering came in after we arrived, so there was a nice impromptu car show in the parking lot as we walked out.

While the tickets are $15 each, they are well worth it for a scenic and peaceful ride before and following your meal. The restaurant is accessible by stairs inside the Lodge at the top of the mountain. It's quite easy to miss if one is not paying proper attention. Indoor and outdoor seating are available (though outdoor seating is restricted to benches and quite limited in the summer so plan accordingly! I had a Hamburger with crisps as well as an order of fajitas and both were generous in portion and savory in taste! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of a seemingly touristy restaurant! They also offer live music on weekends during the summer! All in all, I will definitely return on my next trip to Mount Snow! solid 4/5 stars. Good Show!

The first thing I noticed was the amount of small young children in this upstairs bar area. Which generally I thought they were not allowed in bar areas under the ages of 12. We stopped for a mid day snack and beer. My biggest frustration is most of these restaurants on the mountain do not take the Epic discounts. So for $20+ nachos it's a bit crazy. I will admit they were good but not for the price. Definitely recommend timing it right because it took us awhile to find someplace to sit as it is extremely crowded with limited seating. Food and drink orders are made at the counter and they give you a buzzer to come and pick up your food when it's ready.
