Been here numerous times before, but tonight (Thursday) and I wish we would've went to another place. The specialty bread that they're famous for half of It was good, half of it was not. They comped us half a loaf, but the food was just mediocre tonight.

The service was good. Decor was outdated and the food was below average. I was looking forward to having bbq as it is not my go to choice of cuisine. Our waiter Jacob truly made this dining experience bearable. He was patient, kind, and personable. The food was a huge miss. All of the sides were bland and lacked flavor. The beans tasted like they were undercooked and seasoned with taco seasoning. I prefer baked beans with my bbq. The coleslaw and potato salad were not good. The only thing I enjoyed was the sausage. The chicken and brisket were disappointing, lacked flavor, and did not taste like bbq. I would not go back.

Definitely the best barbecue place in Texas, and New Mexico! The State Line never fails to serve the most amazing food! Highly recommended! Great place to celebrate special occasions or just to enjoy a great meal! 5/5

Every time we visit family in El Paso we stop here. Tonight's visit was great as always. I am allergic to mesquite wood so I need to make sure they didn't use it. The waitress didn't know but the manager came over to talk to us about (they don't usually). He even came back two other times while we were there. The place is cute. We will of course be back.

***check in to get free sausage appetizer*** Ordered the 2 meat combo with potato salad and beans. Lived. Those sides were so Delicious! I was initially bummed cuz I was hoping to get mashed potatoes, but then changed my mind when I tasted their sides! So yummy! Had the pulled pork and brisket. Pulled pork had some bones in it. That brisket was so good! Definitely get that. The free bread the other was warm and fluffy. They have their own honey butter which is subtle but good.

State line has been a decent go to spot for BBQ for as long as I can remember. Pork ribs are fantastic, their sausage is great, desserts are on point. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Today we got a lunch 3 meat combo with a baked tater, also beef ribs, pork ribs and potatoes salad. If you check in through the yelp app, you get a prompt for free sausage appetizer. We had a great meal, only thing for me was the beef ribs just didn't have much meat on them and no smoke flavor you'd expect.

I tried a few BBQ places in El Paso. This one was one of the best! Cool place apparently right on the line of New Mexico and Texas. I got food to go for supper. I was really happy with the quick service in the place. The food was really good. I got sausage, pork and turkey. All was really moist and flavorful. The Slaw and Potato salad were fine. The roll with honey butter was really good! Great BBQ place in EL Paso!

I am not exactly sure what to think of The State Line. I have been here before previous to my yelping days. I don't have a ton to analyze - the meat, BBQ sauce, and bread were good. Otherwise the sides were not the best. I should have substituted for the baked potato. I would return, but I would not order the charro beans, coleslaw, or potato salad on a revisit. The meat is good so focus on that. I will probably return.

Interior sign. Order the beef ribs!

I've been coming to the State Line every time I'm in El Paso for 30 years. The ambiance is fun, the service fast and friendly, generous portions and great prices. They do an excellent steak, but I nearly always order the beef ribs. They're super meaty, always perfectly cooked and have a nice crust. The sausage is also really tasty. I've never eaten anything here I didn't fully enjoy. If you're in El Paso, give this restaurant a try. You'll not be disappointed.

Brisket, sausage, beans, coleslaw & grilled veggies.

Tried this place out while working in El Paso. It was ok. I don't know if it's because I really wasn't in the mood for bbq or what? It didn't hit the spot for me. It was just ok. I ordered the brisket and sausage with beans and a side of grilled veggies. I will say that the grilled veggies were my favorite! I loved them more than the brisket and sausage. Service was good. The bartender was nice and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and quiet. I had a late lunch so there was no one there when I went. The bartender did tell me there's live music in the evenings on the patio. I may give it another go if I'm ever in the area, but it's a big maybe.

Food was just ok. I had beef ribs and they weren't real meaty. The sides were ok, nothing to write home about.

If you're craving a steak and loaded potato, you can't beat it! Stay away from the homemade bread though, it's addicting.

Filipino and Mexican food today. In the spirit of eating good and supporting local, I made a U-turn and got some tacos on the way home from the Eastside. Taquizas Los Pistoleros is right off the 10 Freeway and they're always dependable for delicious tacos. If you're gonna get any type of food you need to transport, why not pick a place known for their catering? I swear they package everything so well and beautifully, it's like dining in. The last time I went there, they had a 5 taco special with a small drink for $5. Now they have 4 taco special with large drink for $7.95. It's still a huge amount of food, no matter the price changes, so I didn't mind. I specifically went on Sat. because some people said that I had to try their Al Pastor as well as their Barbacoa on the weekend. Omg they were right. The Al Pastor was soooo flavorful and the chunks were huge so you could taste the seasoning as well as their pineapple chunks. Definitely get these. Their Barbacoa was soft and fatty. Really tender meat, not dry. I'm a fan. I got their limeade as a drink but hubby stole that too. Chris came out and took my order and I guess he recognized me from my posts, because he gave me some quesabirria to try. I've tried quesabirria at a truck at the Taco Shop Barbacoa y Birria Estilo Sinaloa, and it was really nice, very flavorful. I liked the consomme there. I've tried it at the food truck rally at Placeres Culposos and their actual tacos held up a lot better when dipped than other places. Taquizas Los Pistoleros quesabirria is a good version as well. They definitely give you a lot more cheese...and the consomme is more like a salsa. Thick with a kick. I wanted to support his business and saw that the restaurant was asking for donations to help his Tia with expenses since their breadwinner passed, so I have him some cash. I didn't realize it was a raffle for a huge catering plate! So if you want to do something nice and maybe win something, check out their FB PAGE and enter there. They deliver all over too since they're smack in the middle of El Paso and their family meals can't be beat! Support good food, support regional tastes, and #supportlocal! Thick slices with a beautiful smoke ring, deep flavor, and that perfect balance of tenderness and structure. It was juicy without being greasy, and the bark had just the right bite. The brisket sandwich was equally satisfying. Simple, honest, and generous, with crisp onions and a soft bun that let the meat shine. The ribs had great flavor, but were a bit on the dry side during this visit. Still enjoyable, but the brisket definitely stole the show. Sides were a mix. The green beans were outstanding. Easily some of the best I've had at a barbecue spot. Full of flavor and clearly cooked with care. The beans and cornbread were solid and comforting. The coleslaw, though, didn't quite stand out and was the only item I'd probably skip next time. The space itself adds to the experience. Open, casual, and unpretentious. It feels like a place focused on doing barbecue right rather than trying to be trendy. FYI: You order first & they bring out the food to you. Overall, Hallelujah BBQ is absolutely worth visiting, especially for the brisket and those green beans. I'll definitely be back.

In an industry where a $400 loss is significant, their compassion was truly overwhelming. It's rare to find a business that puts people above profits so selflessly. I cannot recommend them enough--not just for their food, but for the incredible character of the people who run it. I'll be a customer for life every time I'm in El Paso.
