She had a firm yet gentle touch with the shampooing. However it was obvious she was less practiced with Men's hair and the term 'business cut'. She cut it rather short on the sides and even after I asked her to snip some stray long hairs, I found others when I got home. Overall, the results were perfectly fine, but for the price I expected better. Doubt I'll be back for my regular trim.

Highly recommend this hair salon if you want a trustworthy hair stylist who has much experience. She used to work in New York City and had a studio up there and has had over 25 years of experience. On my wedding day, Stella didn't rush despite having a busy morning. She prepared my mother's hair, my maid of honor's hair, and mine all in a row. It was 150$ total for the 3 of us. My hair was up in a romantic up do and stella even lent me pearl hair pins for my big day. She finished my hair in 1 hour and it stayed up all day to midnight. The look was elegant and complex and it survived the Atlanta humidity as my wedding day dragged on. I went in at 11 a.m. and hair lasted through midnight.

As you can see in the pictures herein, I'm definitely not an all over warm blonde, but rather a mixture of colors with bright white blonde around my hairline & dark roots showing, along with a mixture of other colors throughout. I could tell when she rinsed my hair that something wasn't right as you can clearly see in the picture. She asked me if I was on Google when I merely asked her about semipermanent vs demipermanent on my hair & when I told her yes, she got an attitude & told me I need to trust her. This is what my trust got me. I had a consult with a colorist in Atlanta on Friday who I now have to pay to fix her ugly mess up. You can clearly see the demarcation lines & different colors in my hair. Even the top salon in Atlanta was shaking their head at this mess in my hair. Don't waist your money like I did. She has no experience in doing blonde nor even knows about suggesting a raw lift, no toner to make someone warm blonde. The pictures herein speak for themselves. The fact that you responded and lied through your teeth stating that this visit was for "correcting bright orange low lights" is WILD! And not once during this visit did you adjust my tone mid service during this visit. You in fact absolutely do NOT know how to properly do blonde hair. Notice how you didn't even mention all the demarcation lines you left in my hair. People that read this will see the truth, for the pictures speak for themselves, and they speak volumes. My hair has since been corrected by an expert colorist in Atlanta whom did a raw lift. I no longer have multiple color shades and all the demarcation lines are gone. It's unfortunate that at the very least, you didn't take some type of accountability.

I went to this salon hoping they could correct the color. Before I ever sat in the chair, I asked at least five times what my total would be because I didn't want any surprises. I was told it would be $150 to correct the color to honey blonde, and it was explained that price was for full highlights. I confirmed that several times before agreeing to the service. I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and didn't leave until almost 5:00 p.m. After spending nearly my entire day there, I was shocked when I got to the register and was told my total was $315 for a wash, blow-dry, silk press, and color correction on hair that's only neck length. If I had been told the real price upfront, I would have never agreed to the service. Pricing should be transparent before a client commits, not after they've spent hours in the chair. To make matters worse, I wasn't even happy with the results. The silk press wasn't as straight as I expected, especially after being there for so many hours. When I explained that the total wasn't what we had discussed, I paid $200 and told them I was going to my car to see if I had additional cash. I'm pregnant, and I even left my phone inside as collateral to show I wasn't trying to avoid paying. I sat in my car for a moment counting my money and decided I would pull closer to the entrance since my phone was still inside. Before I knew it, several women came outside and surrounded my car, which made me feel embarrassed and intimidated. Overall, the lack of clear pricing, the way the situation was handled, and the customer service left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this salon based on my experience.

After my disaster at CJ's, I didn't want to go back, even though one of the stylists who did not ruin my hair does a really good haircut for my daughter. But I wanted to try somewhere new. Enter Hairbar. I chose this place for my 9 year old to get her haircut for her first day of school. She has wavy/somewhat curly hair and she wanted it straightened, along with a trim. The stylist took her back, shampooed and then brought her to the chair. She straightened it first, and then cut it with her standing up. My daughter was cringing the whole time she was getting the blow dry, and finally said the dryer was hurting/burning her scalp. The stylist commented that she burns her own daughter all the time, which really wasn't all that comforting. I could tell my daughter was uncomfortable with the straightener because she was so fearful of being burned. She's never acted like that before at any salon. I just held my breath, and thankfully that part went okay. When she finished the back of her hair, I could tell that her haircut was visibly crooked. I asked her to fix it, which of course meant taking off more length and then she kind of haphazardly cut the sides in a tapered look, but not even on both sides at all. She could tell, I guess, and then just kept snipping away at the sides. For $35, I felt that's a bit steep for a child under ten's haircut. They did have a 10% off offer on Yelp, but she denied it, saying they don't accept it. Well, someone should take it off the Yelp check-in page then. The other part I didn't like is that she literally stared at me the whole time I was paying, as in watching to see how much tip I was going to give. I gave the standard 20%, but felt uncomfortable being observed like that while trying to pay. Nice staff, but I can't say I'd come here again. The next day, I was speaking with one of my colleagues and she said she had been there once, and that she didn't like the haircut or style afterwards and never went back. Guess it's back to the drawing board.

The round table is used for hair coloring/bleaching and the chairs to the left are for the heaters; the station to the right is for styling while the back is for shampooing and rinsing. You gotta ask for Tim/Thanh when you book an appointment at Hair Bar. I actually followed him to this salom and he's been with me on my hair journey for 3 years so I fully trust his decisions with my hair. Why? Because Thanh loves my hair more than I do (lol) and he will always explain what he is doing to my hair. I really like his work ethic because he doesn't cut corners and wants to make sure you leave the salon looking and feeling better than when you came in. The price you pay for your hair reflects the quality of love and care that goes into your hair. So yes, I would recommend Hair Bar. Ask for Tim!
