I've been to the other location numerous of time and with this being so close to home, I've only been twice. This location does have a good parking lot out back as well as street parking. Not only that, there's a nice garden outdoor dining area. Tall ficus tree blocks out the view of the parking lot but still has a nice openness in the front looking out to Ventura Blvd. Plenty of picnic table as well as high top communal tables. There's also heat lamps when needed and at night, the strung lights above. Inside also does have two dining area. One right when you walk through the door. There's also a nice flatscreen that tends to have sports on. It did when we arrived. The main dining area, there's more seating there as well. It's an open concept when you order and the kitchen is right there. You're able to see the meals being prepared while waiting to order. Same menu as the other location except I believe century city offers breakfast. There's also beer on tap as well as wine available. Plus, their sweets are delicious. Fresh baked cookies and brownies are both not to be missed. Entrees wise, I tend to always get their Cobb salad. It's a pretty big portion. Mixed greens with bacon, avocado, tomatoes, blue cheese, cucumber, corn salsa, red pepper, carrots and of course chicken in a vinaigrette dressing. We also got the seared ahi tuna salad with spring mix, red onion, cucumber, scallions, red peppers, cherry tomatoes, crispy onions strings in a spicy Thai vinaigrette. Both salad was great and of course we needed a side of fries. Sauce wise, ranch and their sweet chili aioli. Food is good. Simply classic but tasty. Burgers, sandwiches, salads and bowl, hot dogs. There's also plenty of sides dishes as well. Downfall with this location, there's no pickle slices to help yourself too.

Just had a great meal at the Encino Stand! Fantastic Southwest Chicken salad. Delicious double cheeseburger with diced onions and mustard. Cooked perfectly medium. Fantastic onion rings dipped in ranch. Blonde ale. Pickles. I see a milkshake in my immediate future. Three cheers for Crystal, the excellent server! I like her a whole lot! I just downloaded The Stand app and I already have 102 points. So nice to sit on the patio and enjoy life on a Sunday afternoon in spring.

We came here for lunch before Lakers game. Let me just say this, this place was amazing! Their burgers were so good. Also, their service was incredible. The employees there were super kind and helpful. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating area. I'm glad they have it here. This place also has an awesome ambiance to it. And lastly, the inside was very clean. Overall, awesome place and I highly recommend it.

First ambience, nice dining area, comfortable seating. +1 Star. Food, I ordered the teriyaki chicken salad. Presentation, looked delicious, very tasty and before I condemn the wilted lettuce, I made sure it was truly wilted and not the teriyaki dressing. Yes, some of the lettuce had brown edges. (See picture) +2.5 for look and taste, -1 for wilted lettuce. While the staff was pleasant, 15 minutes later my to go order was ready. The menu boards were big and visible but, the rotating posting between the 3 salad bowl choices and something BBQ flashed too quickly to understand exactly what the salads contained. +1, -.5 so overall 3 Stars. I probably won't go back.

    Any parking nearby?

There is a lot in the back of the restaurant. Easiest to enter it off of Ventura Boulevard. The driveway is just west of the restaurant.

Why you guys stopped serving the kale chicken sandwich?

    Because it wasn't selling

Are dollar dogs still gone? They haven't brought them back, right?

Dollar dogs are a periodic promotion that occurs for a certain time then stops. I've even seen it on last only one day, like certain holidays. You're right, I haven't seen it in a while, but I reccomend their email list as it's the way I keep an eye…

I wish I had read my last review from 9 yrs ago before revisiting this place today…read more Let me tell you about the good things first... this won't take long. Kelley, our server, was a sweetheart. And the glass of wine was a nice pour and a decent wine. I like that they let you in for something to drink before officially opening for the day. Cue record scratch... now about that food. No, we did not order the wrong thing and no, IMO, they were not just having a bad day. Look at these Huevos Rancheros with "house hash, tostadas and 3 eggs"... those are chips (I think from a bag of tortilla chips) so not really a tostada, no way there were three eggs in that thing (from what I could see)... not sure what the "house hash" is but nothing I could identify on the plate. I know a lot of people might leave a restaurant and say "I could have made that at home" but there is no way I would make something this crappy at home. LOOK at this Avocado Toast with "avocado spread"... that is some thin smear of something green but when you are calling something "Avocado Toast" there should be a substantial amount of the hero ingredient (and maybe not call it "avocado spread" on your menu description. To me, that says, "Look we don't want to call this a "rustic mash of avocado" or "Hass smash" or "hand-crushed ripe avocado" because we know you are actually going to SEE it in front of you in about 15 minutes and "avocado spread" won't lead to a major disappointment." But it did. And this slab of dry plywood that they were calling toast. I turned to my wife and in my best Sebastian Manascalco said, "Why would you do that??" This place mostly failed on food. The food at the other tables looked equally pathetic. Gotta say... all of the cooked egg components of each dish were decent but the rest of the items were like WTF? Ambiance? It's OK... I mean it was a bar with a ton of TVs going. Semi-nice vibe for a sports bar... lots of room. Just can't get over the food. We ate about half of our sodium bombs and left. But parts of the eggs were lovely... as was Kelley.

I've had oyster shooters before and loved them but didn't like their take on it here. Way too much horseradish and the vodka portion was way off (too little vodka) and unbalanced. Oysters Rockefeller - 4 1/2 stars. Quite meaty and delicious, such a great flavor and take on this classic dish. Crab Cake - 4 stars. Quite the large portion, and quite good! Miso Chilean Seabass - 5 stars. This was excellent! It was cooked perfectly with a delicious miso sauce, served with a tasty jasmine rice and steamed spinach. Short Rib w mashed potatoes - 5 stars. No notes! The meat was soft, tender, and rich and flavor and the potatoes were also excellent. Our waitress (who was fabulous) brought out an ice cream Sunday to celebrate the birthday occasion and I have to say it was also fabulous! It was an old school brownie sunday with gobs of delicious hot fudge and sprinkles and an item I would definitely order upon my next visit. I didn't realize they had a complimentary parking lot in the back, that's a huge bonus. Would definitely come back here for a special occasion, this spot is solid!

We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.

The food was amazing, but the lobster ravioli was definitely my favorite dish of the night. Also, if you love bread like I do, definitely order the rolls. The ambiance was wonderful and I've heard they sometimes have live music, although I'm not sure which days. The staff made the experience even better. The host was friendly and kept me laughing with jokes while I waited for my friend to arrive. The bartender was also fantastic, understanding that I don't drink alcohol and made me an incredible mocktail that was so good my friend ended up ordering the same thing. There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.
