Fans blowing the smell of the bathroom around

This place is cool, but the bathroom makes the whole place smell like piss it stinks and as soon as you walk in the bar it's just rotten with mildew and the smell of piss. The place and people are good, the smell just reeks.

My fave local neighborhood bar in our old neighborhood with the best bartenders in the world! Sammy and Tanya
    Ludmila F.

This neighborhood gem was our local watering hole when we lived in Laveen and we still visit hanging on to that "Cheers" bar feeling with our favorite bartender superstars Sammy and Tonya! Terry keeps this place evolving by putting in credit card options vs. the former cash only, remodeling the flooring without losing that old school charm. Ballin' on a budget $1.00 pudding shots made by Sammy and the crew, full bar, burgers, pizza, wings and one of the best patty melts I've ever had on the planet. Reg and I have to take credit for convincing them to start carrying Tito's back in 2014ish. lol. Don't come here for kale sprinkled with caviar foodie pictures and craft cocktails. Come to meet down to earth people of all backgrounds, grab a beer, order some wings and stay for the Karaoke on Fridays or play something on touch tunes. Ken and Barbie aren't going to walk in sporting the latest manolo blahnik pumps. If you're looking for hipster with glitter that's 15 min away downtown at a speakeasy. And I love those too! But if you want real, "it's a wonderful life bar" with strong drinks, worker bees and peeps that will be there for you at your best, worst, no make up, day you broke up with your boo or quit your job, this is the spot. It's my hole in the wall and I wouldn't change it for any amount of glam in the world. Keep rockin Spur lounge and coming up with new pudding shot flavors. Woot Woot! XOXO

    Fun night!

The place is so nostalgic to me. Definitely a hole in the wall, and a fantastic one at that. It's small enough to be cozy without being claustrophobic. Inviting L shaped bar, nice, friendly and attentive bartender, and pay for play juke box full off Garth and Reba. They make excellent iced tea that reminded me of Texas. Another big draw for me were the quarter pool tables. 50 cent a game and in good shape. Regulars were goofy and friendly as well. Bathrooms had funky mirrors that reminded me of the 80's. Would be happy to return.

I ended up at The Silver Pony almost by accident, and it turned out to be one of those places you…read moredon't really plan for, but somehow works out anyway. First impression, it's unapologetically a dive. Dark, a little worn in, and not trying to impress anyone. Give it about five minutes though and it starts to click. The kind of place where people actually talk to each other, bartenders keep things moving, and nobody's putting on a show. Drinks came quick and strong, which is really all I'm asking for in a spot like this. Prices were more than reasonable too. You're not getting anything fancy, but that's not why you're here. There was a mix of stuff going on while I was there. Music, people bouncing between the bar and the pool tables, a few regulars who clearly treat the place like their second living room. It had energy without feeling chaotic, which is a tough balance and they mostly pull it off. Only reason I'm landing at four stars instead of five is because it's definitely not for everyone. It leans hard into that dive bar identity, and depending on the night, it can feel a little rough around the edges. Service was solid, but you can tell it probably swings with the crowd. That said, if you're in the right mood and not looking for anything polished, it's a good time. I'd go back without overthinking it.

I've loved this place from day one, and I still love it just as much now. Reading some of the…read morenegative reviews honestly makes me wonder if those people have ever stepped foot in a true neighborhood bar before. For the folks complaining that the tall white guy is rude, maybe try following the clearly posted rules first. There's literally a flashing sign that says "ORDER HERE." Yes, at some bars you can order from anywhere along the counter. But when there's a big sign telling you exactly where to go, common sense should kick in. If you're standing randomly at the bar and get redirected, that's not rudeness! that's structure. This place has character/history and I mean real character. It draws a mix of OG regulars who've been here since day one and newer people who just happen to stumble in. The vibe is diverse, unpredictable, and you definitely need to be open-minded. That's part of the magic. Coming from a very gay Mexican who checks plenty of stereotypical boxes. I've always felt welcomed here. The energy is real, the people are real, and you'll probably leave having had a great conversation or a laugh you didn't expect. And let's not forget: cheap beer pitchers, bomb wings, and hands down some of the best pickles you'll ever have. Ignore the negativity. This spot is a gem. Though honestly... maybe we should keep it our little hole-in-the-wall secret.

What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.

I had to ask for water 5 times because of how inattentive the waiters are. Also, we were there for 1.5 hours because that's how long it took them to get all our food out so definitely don't go here if you have somewhere to be. The food itself is above average though. I got two rolls of mochi, kanto beef, and the crispy rice trio. I took home a little bit of the Kanto beef since all of this did a good job of getting me full.
