Setting up at the bar dressed hot, talking with other guys has been a real turn on for her! The drinks are strong and priced very well! She tends to go there on her own in the afternoons when she gets off work, mostly to meet other guys! The bar has a great atmosphere, nobody bothers her other than guys wanting to talk to her, which is fine with me! What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.

The area is kind of small for the pool tables, so you're kind of trying to navigate hitting the ball and hitting somebody in the gut, lol. The men's bathroom was horrible for a few months. It literally smelled like the sewage lines had broken and spilled into the whole bar and it reeked. The men and women had to use the same restroom for a while. But they got it fixed. They have darts, but it's out on the back patio and let's just say in Arizona that's a recipe for disaster. Because dust is so thick on the machines you can't even see the screen. I saw the bartender lady literally walked out the door screaming at a customer saying, "suck my.@&$!" and throwing up the middle finger! All in all, the drinks were cheap. The people are OK, except for one guy who was just naturally a jerk, but I digress. If you're looking for a true neighborhood, dive bar to grab a quick beer or a stiff drink on your way home, this is the place. But my suggestion, just pay cash and and never open a tab, always close your card with every transaction. I've never had any issues with overcharging, but apparently others have.

From the moment I walked in, the staff and regulars made me feel right at home. Super friendly, no-pressure vibes, and great service all around. I sat in the back -- there was a slight smell in that area, which I hope gets addressed soon -- but honestly, it didn't take away from the overall experience. The energy in the lounge was upbeat and welcoming, and the ambiance felt like a cozy mix between dive bar comfort and lounge charm. Now let's talk about that margarita! Absolutely delicious and well-balanced -- not too sweet, not too strong, just right. The presentation of both the drink and food was on point (photo attached!). Everything was fresh and flavorful. Parking was a breeze -- located right out front and easily accessible. Looking forward to coming back -- this is the kind of spot that quickly becomes your go-to. Cheers, Spurr Lounge!

Cocktails were fun and delicious. It's attached to (or within) Ziggy's, and I'll review that separately, but they serve food from ziggys in here too, so I'll include it. The pizza is solid. Located downtown, while they have a small parking lot that they share with The Van Buren, I Ubered over. Ambiance (2.5/5): To get in, go into Ziggy's Pizza. You'll see a bouncer. He will check your ID and then you'll make your way through the walk in fridge. That will take you to a door that leads you to the speakeasy. When you think of a speakeasy, you think of dim lighting. Intimate. Quiet. This isn't that. On the weekends, Stardust turns into a casual club. There's a DJ, there's a dance floor, and there's pin ball. Not your run-of-the-mill speakeasy at all. So I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. For me, I think I would like it a lot more on a week day when it's a lot less congested. Service (4/5): Even with them being quite busy, the bartenders are quite efficient and attentive. Which makes things go through quickly, despite a line. Well done all-around. My only complaint? You pay on those little handheld devices which don't show you an itemized receipt. I had to ask for one. Food (N/A): They're owned by the same people as Ziggy's so you can wait for your food at Ziggy's and then bring it into Stardust. There are a few booths in Stardust so you can sit and eat. Ziggy's is pretty good pizza, so I recommend it. Drinks (3/5): When we're talking speakeasies, the expectation is elevated cocktails with an interested blend of flavors and ingredients. While Stardust has a cool menu, the cocktails are made quickly so the focus is on speed rather than quality. They're not bad per se, nor are the prices, but they're not speakeasy quality. I've tried four or five different ones on the menu. The creativity is there to a degree, but the execution isn't. While a bit critical since they're a speakeasy, overall, Stardust is a pretty cool spot. If you come right after a concert gets out at Van Buren, expect for there to be a long line. I'm planning to come back on a Tuesday. Why? Free pinball (normally it's a $1 per play) and specials on cheese pizza slices and beer.

Only the few people who came in as customers during karaoke were amazing and wonderful. The STAFF HERE IS JUDGMENTAL AS FUCK. I just lost a ton of weight over the last year and am very tall, I came in here super cute with my followers. I was trying to have fun while being RESPECTFUL TOWARDS THOSE AROUND ME. I did NOT receive the same treatment at all. They couldn't take ANY of my cards like chime debit or PayPal, also don't have any electronic type pay at all. FYI Kindness is free maybe don't BE the HATE WE ALL see in the world. WE ARE A RAINBOW COMMUNITY FOR A REASON. All I was trying to do was find a SAFE PLACE to chill and you FUCKED THAT UP WITH YOUR JUDGEMENT (and eye rolls). That's on you, especially when I tried to have conversations and treat you with love and kindness but all I got was NEGATIVITY. That doesn't EVER create a conducive environment for LGBTQ+ humans. So CHANGE. BECOME BETTER. Our community deserves it.

Our friend lives down the street and she heard good things about Legends Never Die. This spot is a small, 20 seat speakeasy. From Roosevelt St it's easy to miss, as a speakeasy should be, hidden in plain sight. When we located the door we walked in, not sure how busy it would be, luckily we noticed some seats right away. The server walked up and asked if we could wait outside, she needed to "reset" the space. Another group walked up after us and I let them know we were in a que of sorts, and apparently 2 other people standing outside off to the side we ahead of us. So, that was just a strange way to start off. We didn't wait long, around 10-15 minutes. Once inside, the service was okay, it felt a bit rushed and slow at times. Like it took a bit for the server to come back and take our order and then the drinks came out so fast, I wondered if the drinks were all pre-batched. Which is not necessarily bad if they were, my drink just didn't seem interestingly presented or having any craft cocktail flair. And all in all, I liked the dark, vibey interior with good music playing, and I thought the cocktail menu sounded inventive but at the end of the day I thought my drink was fairly basic tasting and I didn't get any of the flavors noted in the description. The other 2 drinks at our table were better. I didn't get any chai, banana, or almond butter tastes, just a solid old fashioned. I had hoped some chai or banana would be notable. I would definitely come back and see if there are other drinks on the current menu that have stand out flavors for me, since this is a cool bar.
