I'm so glad I got a chance to update my review! So we had some work done in the fall - before we had hardscaping put in. And things didn't go exactly as planned. But I called up Carlos and he sent out the guys to fix it completely free. Didn't bat an eyelash. Other business owners might have given me grief, so it was nice to have a business owner who guarantees his work. Also, Carlos taught me how to program my timer and he helped me understand the principles behind regrowing my grass myself. He didn't have to do that - he could have kept that knowledge to himself and up-sold me on sod. I hope that this Yelp review pays him back 10x for sharing that info with me. I contacted him based on the great reviews. However I didn't have the same experience unfortunately. He might not the person to call for a larger property with more than 5 stations. His pricing structure was not advantageous for our property size and was much higher than other professionals. We went with another company that was much less and encompassed more repairs than his estimate. Showing up on time, which is important to me, he inspected my sprinklers and provided a quote. Did not like how they handle the business. The person giving estimate was nice and seemed to be knowledgeable. However there is a lack of communication between their office and technicians. They over charged me for things that they didn't even do. They had to send technicians 3 times just to justify the fact that they overcharged for a service/part that was not fixed. My biggest complaint has to do with Tania. She would ignore my emails and wouldn't stay on top of my concerns. He came out exactly when promised with his crew, showed them what was needed, and their work was excellent. After many years of sky high water bills, I realized that perhaps my irrigation was not properly configured. There were zones that were over-watered as well as plants that needed very little water in the same zone as plants that needed considerable amounts of water. This is a prescription for wasting lots of water and money, in the process. Factor into the equation numerous broken sprinkler heads and pipes and no auto rain sensor and no wonder my bills were sky high. I found Sprinkler Tech on Angie's List and within a few days Carlos (the owner) was at the house conducting a survey (without charge) of what needed to be done. A few days later I received a proposal which I thought was completely reasonable and could have easily been much higher and I still would have been fine. We scheduled the crew and after a few days work, everything was done in a professional and efficient manner. Ultimately, the proof was in the pudding which took a few months to determine. My water bills were more than 40% reduced. I'm certain that this is 100% a function of the (1) new sprinkler heads (2) the reprogramming of the many zones in my system and (3) the re-arrangement of the zones which combined plants and grass to zones with watering times required by other similar plants. I found Carlos to be well versed and knowledgeable and most importantly totally honest and fair. He could have very easily up-sold me numerous items (such as new timers etc) but never did. Carlos relies on Tanya for much of the back office work relating to scheduling, invoicing etc. I would absolutely not hesitate to call Carlos again and have already referred him to friends. I recommend Carlos and Sprinkler Tech completely. Carlos is properly spending his time in the field each day. Robert and his team from Sprinkler Tech just worked miricles on my sprinkler system... and they accomplished it at a fair price too! I bought a home a year ago with a 9 zone sprinkler system with 5 to 9 heads per zone. I live in north Altadena at the north end of a culd-a-sac and our home is one of the last on my water service zone. My water pressure is low by operational standards... about 45 PSI average. However, well within the companies "requirements" to deliver 20 PSI or better. Robert evaluated the whole system and we worked together to brainstorm a possible solution under very difficult circumstances. We, ultimately, agreed to replace a few valves and heads in the front yard, which were really just maintenance related. However, in the back yard (where the water pressure was really horrible) he completely dug out and capped all heads and redistributed 2 rain bird heads per zone to the corners of my yard... so what used to be 5 to 9 heads per zone was now only 2 rain birds per zone. This greatly improved the water pressure to each zone and I now have good coverage throughout my yard. He did this work almost 2 weeks ago and, for the first time since I've owned this home, my lawn is now showing strong signs of even watering coverage and its looking better than ever. I used to spend countless hours, after work and on weekends, manually watering my lawns. I haven't manually watered my lawn now since Sprinkler Tech did their work! I know this may sound a little "over the top" but the work these guys did not only solved my water distribution problems, but it's given me several personal hours of my life back each week... Great customer service. Carlos gave me tips on a sprinkler system I have been troubleshooting myself. I was about to hire Carlos but I kept trying to fix an issue with water pressure on some new RainBird sprinklers I installed recently. Only half of the distance would work. I contacted 4 different companies. Some companies did not show up. Some said it was too far or they were sick. Poor customer relations & responsiveness - getting the Sprinkler Tech to come look at my job was a job in itself, and I was never able to make that happen. I found this vendor on CL and called & emailed at least twice each over several days before finally getting a response, and even then it was like pulling teeth. When I finally spoke to Carlos on the phone I felt like I was an annoyance to him, and I still never got the answers I was looking for. I manage several properties and I have fussy tenants who are particular about scheduling work. I simply wanted to know if Sprinkler Tech is prepared to do the job on the spot if I accept their quote? I also wanted to know if there is a minimum charge for simple jobs like changing out a sprinkler head and checking/resetting the automatic sprinkler system at a residence. I was very straight forward and communicative about what I want both in my calls and emails. I manage 3 properties all needing sprinkler work; from a simple head replacement and system reset, all the way up to a full, new sprinkler system for a large residence. I realize companies are reluctant to come out for small jobs, but I was sure to mention I have other, bigger jobs I'm ready to do now. After over a week of trying to get an appt. I finally got the answers I was looking for - that Carlos would come look at my job for a quote, but would have to call out his crew to do the work at a later time; he also finally revealed they are "at least two weeks out" before they can do the job. Communication with this company is frustrating at best. If he had just told me this at the beginning, it would have saved me SO much time. I'm not a serial complainer, and only Yelp! if something is truly great or a waste of time. Trying to hire the Sprinkler Tech was just a waste of my time. Simple responsiveness and professionalism are all I'm looking for here. Weve had alot of problems with our lawn since purchasing a house 6 mos. ago. Among smaller problems there was a large amount of water pooling under the house. We spent hundreds of dollars in plumbers trying to figure out what the problem was. Finally, we narrowed it down to the sprinklers. We thought it was a leak. I called Carlos and he came over a half-hour later. He immediately said it was due to over-watering. He reset the sprinklers (front and back), replaced all sprinkler heads & readjusted them for $65.
