This company is amazing. They responded quickly and came out to give us a quote right away, which was very reasonably priced. Although we didn't end up moving forward with the work at this time, their professionalism really stood out. I recently had several large trees cut down by Safeway tree service and I am beyond satisfied with the results. From the initial quote to the final cleanup, their team was prompt, professional, and incredibly skilled. Some of the trees were close to high electrical lines but they handled everything with care and precision. It was clear they knew exactly what they were doing--every cut was strategic, and safety was clearly a top priority. They brought the right equipment, worked efficiently, and finished the job faster than expected. What impressed me most was how clean they left the property. No stray limbs, no damage to the lawn--just a job extremely well done. The entire crew was friendly, respectful, and easy to communicate with throughout the process. If you need trees removed safely and professionally, I highly recommend Safeway Tree Services. They truly earned this five-star review! Thank you, Tony it was a pleasure working with you! read more

These guys are incredible. Fast, pleasant, reasonably-priced (they were our fourth quote for the job) but, most importantly, the work was flawless. We had three large palm tress on a small front lawn. I was nervous about taking them down because there isn't much space for those big chunks to fall. But Tony was very vocal and precise about every safety concern, including a few that the previous guys neglected to mention at all. Still, there was little room for error. But they took three giant trees down with surgical precision and cleaned everything up in one day. And it was over 100 degrees that day. Very nice group of guys, and Tony is a total straight shooter, delivering on exactly what he promised. Hire these guys! read more

We've hired licensed tree trimmers before and we liked them but we were looking for a faster turn around since we wanted to clear a few palm trees and trim asap due to fire hazards. We contacted Safeway and they were professional and prompt with their communications. As an added bonus, they were competitively priced for licensed trimmers. They came and provided an estimate and we booked them shortly thereafter. They were so diligent and had attention to details. Tony supervised the entire project. They covered our pool to ensure no debris fell in. The reviews are not fake; these guys are the real deal. Highly recommend! Can't wait to hire them again. read more

Tony and his guys at Safeway Tree Service did an excellent job removing two tree stumps in our backyard. Tony's quote was very reasonable, beating out the competition by hundreds of dollars. Communication was excellent, they arrived on time, and used the tree grinder to remove to the two stumps in under an hour. Cleanup was great. And the entire experience was given a bonus when, during Tony's quote visit, he suggested we bind a sagging young tree to a 10-foot wooden pole, and he threw the whole thing in for free. All around very happy with our smooth and valuable experience with Tony and his crew. Definitely reaching out to them again for our future tree-trimming needs! read more

Highly recommend this company. Tony responded quickly and gave an estimate with a fair price. The crew was on time and very professional. After reading the positive reviews for this company, I decided to choose them to take down a dead tree in my front yard. Tony replied to me promptly and came out to give me timely and fair estimates on a few options. A few days later, Tony and his crew were out to complete the job on time and as promised. I was very pleased with the work done and with Tony's professionalism. They also protected a small oak sapling that was next to the dead tree, as requested. I highly recommend Safeway Tree Service, and I expect to have them back for future tree trimming needs. read more

We got quotes from a few tree service providers and I'm so glad I called Safeway to provide one more. Tony provided excellent customer service from the get go. He gave me a very competitive quote. He sent me the quote, along with his license and insurance via text later that day. I immediately responded that we would like him to work on our trees. Tony came with his crew and did an amazing job with our trees. I needed help moving a few things from the side of my house to make room for the equipment and tree debris. After they left they put everything back and left it even nicer than when they found it. Anyone considering Tony and Safeway tree service should not hesitate. I found him to be fair and trustworthy. I would 100% work with him again and recommend him to anyone that will need tree services in the future. I don't typically write yelp reviews, but Tony and Safeway Tree Service deserve the praise. read more

We had a large ash tree that needed to be removed, along with an old fence, and a small brush clearance. I always collect three bids for projects like this, and Tony at Safeway Tree Service provided great communication as I reviewed the options. On removal day, Tony and his crew really impressed me with their professionalism, attention to detail, and thoroughness. They arrived early and did a great job; the work was complicated but always felt safe. When a couple of small decisions needed to be made about the brush removal, Tony's expertise really showed, and his advice was invaluable to me. When the crew left our property, you could not tell the ash tree, fence or brush had ever been there. I felt the price was fair and reasonable, and the whole experience was positive. I met with Tony in early September and I chose to have his company trim my two juniper trees because 1. He is genuine and comes out with his crew 2. He cares about the trees 3. We had Tony out again to give us an estimate to remove an enormous coral tree in our front yard. He trimmed it last year, but when we discussed trimming it again this year, he told us it was dying. He thought it would take 1 1/2 days to cut down the tree and remove the stump. Instead, he and his team got the work done in one day. I even asked him to trim our mimosa tree while they were here and they finished that, too! Tony is easy to work with, reasonably priced and reliable. We're very pleased with the work he's done for us over the years. Thanks, Tony! read more

All in a good day's work! Can't thank the crew and Tony enough for a job well done, from A to Z. My initial selection of this team was based on the combination of reviews, competitive pricing, and the level of responsiveness in our communications prior to work, as compared to other companies. Today I saw one enthusiastic and professional team at work, at a high but thorough pace and with the commandable manners and attention to safety. When I added a bit of extras, they went far and beyond to complete it at a modest fee. The place was left neat and clean afterwords. For those looking for quotes, I want to give you a heads-up about the wild range of the estimates you may receive. As for Safeway Tree Service, it feels like their work model is skill, professionalism and competitive pricing. Sounds like a winning combo to me. Highly recommend. read more

Let me just start by saying that because of my insurance I needed a pretty extensive trimming job on 4 separate trees so I was under a time crunch. Tony responded super quick, came to look the next morning and gave me a quote that was super competitive. Besides being truly insured and licensed, Tony also puts his bid in writing. Even though I have had many insured and licensed companies that quoted me the same price as Tony's, he was the only one who was willing and happy to give me a written bid. This shows that he sticks to his words, he doesn't lie and he has nothing to hide. Safeway Tree Service has a good reputation all around. They showed up my house on time, did everything as promised, were polite and respectful. They even cleaned up after themselves. They were very professional. Tony even used an electric leaf blower. A homeowner could face a fine if they allowed their contractor to use a gas powered leaf blower. Also, I even found a different company that used a fake license number. So make sure you verify a company's license before hiring them. I have used this website to verify a contractor's license and Tony's company was totally clear and legit https://www.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx read more

Fantastic experience!! We have a 60 foot Chinese Elm in our backyard that had never been trimmed and had grown large limbs over our roof. For 10 years, I've been stressed about that tree every time the Santa Anna's blow through town. So, this was the year I finally decided to get some quotes and have it trimmed. I called three companies: Company 1 never called back. Company 2 rescheduled twice and ultimately never showed. Company 3 was Safeway Tree Service. Tony was friendly and communicative when he came to give the quote. We booked it. We are getting our roof replaced and there was a palm tree that was growing against the roof that needed removal asap. I was perusing different companies here on Yelp, sending messages via Yelp. Other companies were slow to respond, but I received an almost immediate response from Safeway and I was able to get fit into the schedule quickly to have the palm removed before the new shingles go in on the roof. The palm tree was removed so fast this morning that we also decided to also have them remove a dead giant tree from the front and 2 other bushes from the front that were in the way. I thought it would take hours because the other tree was so big, but they had both bushes and the dead tree gone within less than 30 min, even removing the giant stump!
