This company has been doing my apartment building for a while now and it's nothing but problems. He's ruined multiple 7-10 year old potted plants and didn't seem to care or understand what he did. On multiple occasions he has screamed at me when I asked him to not touch the area in front of my unit which is only my personal potted plants. We moved to a new house with huge backyard about two months ago. We built a beautiful deck in the backyard then we realized that one giant tree next to the brand new deck dropping tiny leaves like snow day and night. We called few tree service company and received few quotes. Richard came in timely manner and offered a quote about half of the price than the other quote. We hire his company to take down 15 feet tree right next to the deck. He email us the quote, then he call to let us know that he was running late for 30 minutes. They he show up with all the equipment and crews on time. We were worried about damaging the deck but they did awesome job. They cut down the tree, grind the tree stump and clean up all the mess. They gave my tree a disease. I paid $950 to have my Avocado tree pruned. And the guys climbed up the tree with dirty spikes and gave my tree a disease. This is not MY OPINION but that of two arborists that I had come out and assess the tree. To make things worse, they charged me $200 to spray the tree, and then completely GHOSTED me when they were supposed to return and spray again, at a "discounted rate" if you can imagine that they were going to charge me TWICE to treat a disease that THEY BROUGHT to the tree. They also tried to tell me because it rained the night they trimmed that was the cause of the fungus. If that were the case all the places they cut would have had fungus as well, not just the spike path. You can clearly see i the pictures. The saddest part is this beautiful 65-year-old tree produces amazing fruit every year and now the next time it fruits (IF IT FRUITS) we will have to throw away the fruit because we had to have the tree injected to try and save it. Richard who is the owner came by and gave me an estimate and then confirmed a date for starting and then cancelled the morning when I called him to confirm. Richard said he had called me 3 times and texted me which he did not and was an obvious lie, especially with today's technology on knowing when someone called. He also never left me a vm or replied on Yelp about having to reschedule. He also said he would call me back and never did. We also asked him to email or text me his proof of insurance and he never did. If I could give him 5 negative stars I would. I'm sorry to report that I can no longer recommend Best Value tree service. I initially was over the moon with Richard. It is unclear what has interfered with him returning my phone calls or showing up for scheduled appointments. I also spoke with a female at an alternate number, Naomi. She too was very accommodating and said she would follow up right away, she didn't. My job is not entirely complete and I'm waiting for an estimate for further work. I will update this review if they get back to me, follow through and provide an explanation. Thus far I have paid them in the neighborhood of $4500. My husband and I just moved into a new house and needed some serious help. We hired Richard to remove all stumps, trees, bushes except for one star jasmine plant in the front yard. My husband did a final walk though and found that there was a large section of ivy that had not been removed. Richard said that he would have some one come back later that day to fix it. That was about two weeks ago and now we are unable to get a hold of him to finish the job. We have 2 very tall palm trees in the front yard that needed trimming up and we had many tree trimmers knock on our door to trim them. They gave good prices but never came back to trim them. Husband was getting anxious so I looked on Yelp for help. Best Value only had 1 review which most of the time I would pass on but thought I'd give them a try. I called many companies on Yelp first and they either didn't answer or could come in the next few days to give me a quote. Best Value texted me back within min saying they could be by in an hour to give me a quote. Once they gave me the extremely fair quote (in some cases they were over $100 less) they said they could come back in a few hrs to do the job. They trimmed 2 extremely tall palms, hauled away everything and cleaned up as though they were never here in 1/2 hr.
