We've lived in Laurel Canyon for many many years and used many many tree trimmers. I was on a walk this week and there was a company trimming trees on Carmar I met the manager and his crew he came right over gave me an estimate and today he took out three trees that were dead. Trimmed all of our bushes trimmed all of our big trees left this place cleaner than when he got here I highly highly recommend Arnold at Best value tree service. He and his crew are polite they showed up on time they texted me they responded to my calls they are reasonable professional and most of all are completely honest. You can call or text him I attached pictures but his number is 818 363-5969. read more

In the middle of the night my neighbors oak tree fell on property. We called Nico Garcia. Received his bid, accepted it and he and his crew to cut up and take the fallen tree away. They were professional and safely removed the tree leaving the area picked up. We are very happy with the job they did. read more

Nico was very responsive, and his crew did a great job trimming our two trees quickly and efficiently. They offered the lowest quote by far, and the overall value was excellent. I'm giving four out of five stars because a fallen branch ended up breaking our tall sprinkler pipe, which we discovered later. That said, the team did a thorough job cleaning up the yard once the work was complete, and the price was truly unbeatable. read more

Wam bam thank you ma'am. Same day service, 2 hour slam dunk. Did a great job for a good price with a crew of 4. Clean up was good and precision cuts made sure minimal debris went over to the neighbors side. Can't ask for more and highly recommend! read more

Great quick service. High quality at great value. Above and beyond. Thanks to the entire team

Extremely slow and inefficient. They took much longer and did not do a halfway decent job. Most of the time when I observed them, the two of the guys were just yapping and not paying attention. Avoid read more

What a great experience! I loved the fact that it is family based. They had a lot to do and they did it well and at a great price- especially on one of the owner's birthday! I highly recommend. Thanks guys!!!! read more

Best Value Tree Service was a pleasure to work with for my recent tree trimming needs. Nico did a beautiful job in pruning our trees. In fact, they have never looked so good. We had to have our pepper tree pulled out because it was no longer viable and everything was cut down and removed neatly and efficiently. Pricing was fair. Communication was excellent too. I highly recommend Best Value Tree Service. read more

DO NOT USE - it's rude and unacceptable that now I have to pay for gutter/roof clearing as Richard runs an unreputable business. After butchering my neighbor's trees, I asked Richard to remove the debris left behind on my roof. He was asked multiple times, and now refuses to return phone calls. There are many companies to choose from, do not choose this one! read more

Nico and his team did a fabulous job of removing (stump and all) a 50+ year old palm tree. They also pruned an overgrown and over-tall loquat tree, which now looks beautifully thinned shaped. Cleanup is immaculate, and all of this in only 1 1/2 hours. Nick is a pleasure to work with and his rates are very reasonable. He made sure I knew what he was going to be doing. I plan to recommend him to all of my friends. read more

We had a branch from a neighboring building fall into our driveway; not a major deal, but we didn't have the tools or vehicle necessary to cut and haul it away. I called Richard, and he and his crew were on site in less than an hour. They did the job quickly, and charged a very reasonable price. Great work; great service; great guy. I'll be calling Best Value again, and you should as well if you need a top-notch company. read more

This company has been doing my apartment building for a while now and it's nothing but problems. He's ruined multiple 7-10 year old potted plants and didn't seem to care or understand what he did. On multiple occasions he has screamed at me when I asked him to not touch the area in front of my unit which is only my personal potted plants. All the cars downstairs get filthy every single week with no regard. Very disrespectful, would never recommend. read more

A yearly chore so I got 3 estimates for the job and BV won the bid, the job was tree trim and weeding the hillside. They came on the day I wanted and on time to do the job Job was done in 2 days and everything I wanted was done. they gave me a quote and arranged to service my Condo building trees. I confirmed the date and time twice with them. They did not arrive nor did they call to cancel and the service. I tried calling them multiple times and they did not answer their phone nor call me back after leaving 5 messages. Avoid them at all costs............... read more

The real question is how have I been using BVTS for over 14 months and I haven't written a review yet?! Richard is knowledgeable, kind, and gives you his full attention. I feel like I am his only client when we are discussing my project. I had an irrigation drip line system emergency come up yesterday, bright and squirrely at 9 AM on a Sunday. Guess who I called and guess who showed up within 30 minutes! I recommend him to all my family and friends because he is reliable. He handles all of my landscaping, tree trimming, tree removal, irrigation, brush clearance, etc. My joke is you're always on the hunt for a good dentist, a good mechanic, a good attorney, and a good landscaper - I found him! read more

I wish I could give Richard and his crew 10 stars!!!! I had two huge trees that were almost falling on my roof.. not to mention the rats it was harboring. I called several tree companies and got multiple quotes. Not only was everyone overpriced (based on my Google research), they couldn't even start for a few weeks. Then I stumbled on Richard. He's honestly one of the best humans I've ever come across. He showed up the same day for an estimate and his price was the BEST so he started the job the very next day! I also added two more trees in the back and he was more than happy to help. His crew was beyond professional and kind....they even put up with my daughter and her friend running in and out of the house while they were working. The job was completed in two days. He even wrapped this sheet metal around the two biggest trees so the rats couldn't climb up!!!!!!! I honestly can't recommend him enough. I'm in real estate so i always have my guard up, but Richard made me realize there are still honest, reliable and ethical people still out there. If you need your trees trimmed, don't waste your time, call Richard and his crew. read more

Richard came out and gave me a great quote. By the following week a 3 man crew came out on time and went to work. They talked with the neighbors and made sure everything was moved on their side and cleaned every branch that fell over. They were very accommodating with the way I wanted the trees to be cut. Will definitely call back when the time comes. read more

Called owner Richard for tree removal as a past customer. We had a large outdoor project which included tree removal, grass removal, sprinkler removal, artificial turf install, drip irrigation install, landscape leveling, mulch, and new trees/shrubs. With the recent new restrictions for LA counties water conservation the timing was perfect. Great job Richard!! read more

We moved to a new house with huge backyard about two months ago. We built a beautiful deck in the backyard then we realized that one giant tree next to the brand new deck dropping tiny leaves like snow day and night. We called few tree service company and received few quotes. Richard came in timely manner and offered a quote about half of the price than the other quote. We hire his company to take down 15 feet tree right next to the deck. He email us the quote, then he call to let us know that he was running late for 30 minutes. They he show up with all the equipment and crews on time. We were worried about damaging the deck but they did awesome job. They cut down the tree, grind the tree stump and clean up all the mess. We will hire him again anytime!!! read more

I highly recommend Best Value Tree Service! Richard was my point of contact. He was quick to respond and stop by to give me a free estimate. He and his crew showed up promptly on the day work was scheduled. The crew was extremely efficient. I had a mandarin tree removed and 3 other fruit trees heavily trimmed. At the last minute, I also decided to have a couple of trees trimmed from the backyard. The quote was reasonable. By far the best estimate received after contacting multiple companies. I look forward to working with this company in the future. I have found my permanent tree trimming company! read more

They gave my tree a disease. I paid $950 to have my Avocado tree pruned. And the guys climbed up the tree with dirty spikes and gave my tree a disease. This is not MY OPINION but that of two arborists that I had come out and assess the tree. To make things worse, they charged me $200 to spray the tree, and then completely GHOSTED me when they were supposed to return and spray again, at a "discounted rate" if you can imagine that they were going to charge me TWICE to treat a disease that THEY BROUGHT to the tree. They also tried to tell me because it rained the night they trimmed that was the cause of the fungus. If that were the case all the places they cut would have had fungus as well, not just the spike path. You can clearly see i the pictures. The saddest part is this beautiful 65-year-old tree produces amazing fruit every year and now the next time it fruits (IF IT FRUITS) we will have to throw away the fruit because we had to have the tree injected to try and save it. Should change their name to WORST VALUE TREE SERVICE. read more

We had a gigantic orange tree wedged between our house and the neighbor's we weren't brave enough to tackle ourselves. Richard was able to come scout the project and give us a quote in under 1 hour, with a consultation that lasted about 5 minutes. He gave us a fair deal in line with other quotes we received and had a crew out the next day to remove it all. They had our tree down, stump removed and the area clean in under an hour. I called Richard at Best Value Tree Service to remove an old dead tree that was barely hanging on and leaning over towards the neighbors house and he came the same day and removed it really fast. I highly recommend their service. They are very professional. read more

Richard who is the owner came by and gave me an estimate and then confirmed a date for starting and then cancelled the morning when I called him to confirm. Richard said he had called me 3 times and texted me which he did not and was an obvious lie, especially with today's technology on knowing when someone called. He also never left me a vm or replied on Yelp about having to reschedule. He also said he would call me back and never did. We also asked him to email or text me his proof of insurance and he never did. If I could give him 5 negative stars I would. I would never hire Richard and his company again, especially when you lie and cancel the day of the service. read more

So...these guys showed up too late to get the job done before the sun went down and said they would call about rescheduling. No joke, I never heard from them again and they didn't call me back when I followed up. Unbelievably unprofessional...it's like their business is run by children. read more

I'm sorry to report that I can no longer recommend Best Value tree service. I initially was over the moon with Richard. It is unclear what has interfered with him returning my phone calls or showing up for scheduled appointments. I also spoke with a female at an alternate number, Naomi. She too was very accommodating and said she would follow up right away, she didn't. My job is not entirely complete and I'm waiting for an estimate for further work. I will update this review if they get back to me, follow through and provide an explanation. Thus far I have paid them in the neighborhood of $4500. You would think they would be interested in retaining my business. Sincerely, very disappointed. read more

My husband and I just moved into a new house and needed some serious help. We hired Richard to remove all stumps, trees, bushes except for one star jasmine plant in the front yard. My husband did a final walk though and found that there was a large section of ivy that had not been removed. Richard said that he would have some one come back later that day to fix it. That was about two weeks ago and now we are unable to get a hold of him to finish the job. On top of all this the one plant I asked him to leave has since died, I am not sure what he did but this was a healthy, thriving star jasmine bush and now is completely dead. Not worth it. Hire someone else. read more

Wow! These guys mean business! I sent out a bunch of estimate requests through Yelp on Saturday and Richard responded immediately with a couple questions and then an estimate based on the specs and pics I had sent. Richard and his guys were very professional, reasonably priced and delivered exactly what had been promised. Will be recommending them to all my friends. read more
