My purchases to bring home to California. Love their charcuterie items.
    Mike W.

Another trip to Atlanta, and another stop at The Spotted Trotter. I love this place! Other reviewers claim they're expensive, and maybe they are, but the quality of the meats and the service is beyond reproach. If you're looking to make an impressive charcuterie board, this is the place to go. They also have the best duck breasts I've ever had, but they often sell out quickly, so you may want to call in advance to have them set some aside. You can pick up novelty items, chocolates, gift cards, t-shirts, tote bags, etc., and they will ship nationwide. I definitely recommend that you check them out when you're in the area, or on their website: www.thespottedtrotter.com.

Caribe United Farms should be ashamed to sell such trash, especially masquerading as premium eggs.
    Bill C.

This place has fallen off the deep end hard. The eggs they are selling for $8.50 aren't even as good as Walmart eggs. The yokes are pale yellow at best. They should be ashamed to sell such trash. On multiple occasions, they have sold me spoiled meat that wasn't even borderline, but rather egregious. They need to rotate their stock before they get rotated out of business.

A little variety... Pecan Fuet was the best by a mile.
    Chris H.

I picked up a variety of meats for a charcuterie date night and the Pecan Fuet was my favorite by far! The flavor of the ground pecan powder was awesome. I would describe it as smooth and slightly tart. I wasn't as impressed with the Sujuk or the Chupacabra. I did a blind taste test with my lady using cured meats from the grocery store that were half the price and she chose the grocery store meat both times. The business is nice and clean on the inside and I would shop here again just for the Pecan Fuet... It was that good. They have a large selection of cured meats so grab a variety and hopefully you'll find something you like.

    Weiss-wursts?!?
    Roberto B.

Stay away from the sausages! The Weiss wursts sold here are the opposite of the German sausages: they are spicy, dry, and very hard after boiling them for few minutes (see pictures). They ended up in the trash. What is called "Beer brat" are ok if you like a lot of pepper. Considering that each sausage costs more than $4 I was expecting a quality way higher than Publix (which has good sausages for a third of the price). Service is not great either: barely able to see the server behind all the stuff that is on the countertop.

I'm very unimpressed with these New York strips
    Mark B.

There bacon is great! But wow look at these New York strips. I won't be buying steaks from them again.

Support local. Support good food. Really impressed with the service at The Spotted Trotter. Shop is clean, well maintained, and organized. The gentleman helping us a couple of Sundays ago was super friendly, helpful, and answered all of our questions. We grabbed a couple of steaks and they were delicious when we had it at our friend's house. It's a bit pricy but very good quality. They also sell other cool things like different herbs, seasonings, different flavored marshmallows, and a variety of jam/jelly. Definitely check them out if you're looking for good quality meat for any dining meals at home.

What an amazing little charcuterie shop in Atlanta! We stopped in today on the last leg of our road trip and visited with the with the wonderful staff at the Spotted Trotter. We were overwhelmed with all the choices & amazing selection. They have so many unique products like the Lusty Monk mustard, gourmet marshmallows & marcona Almonds! But the meats & cheeses steal the show! Holy red meat Batman! Cured meats, hot dogs, sausages, brats and BACON!!! You must go here and buy all the meats! Amazing & helpful staff that work hard! We'll be back and ready for more amazing products!

They not only have incredible fresh cuts of meats & fresh seafood but they have the best prepared meals. Chicken Parmesan is my favorite- so far. Lol. Everything is freshly made from scratch and packed up ready for your fridge or freezer. They have single portions & family size portions. Everything is excellent. They also have a vary nice wine selection, fresh seasonal veggies, & fresh breads. I tried the Mexican cornbread the other day and craved it ever since. Don't forget the Caesar salad/ dressing. So, if you love to eat great food and thinking about nice butcher cut, fresh seafood, or heating up the fruits of their labor- you can't go wrong. One other thing I noticed- groceries are really expensive and sometimes getting home to discover you only have ingredients makes it hard to budget. I found that these great meals helped me trim a dollars off stocking the fridge.

It's only though ordering some goods from Root Baking to pick up that I discovered this organic weekly market. Morningside Farmers Market was set up in the parking lot of a tiny strip mall home to a running store. Parking in the neighborhood wasn't difficult at all. There were to my count, about eight vendor tents set up and two of them were produce-focused.  At the risk of sounding like a Portlandia character, I snagged some absolutely gorgeous radicchio from Diamond Hill and striking purple sweet potatoes from Sparta Gardens. The radicchio had leaves the hue of iceberg lettuce but they were speckled with magenta dots. Beautiful! And the sweet potatoes were deep purple both outside and inside!  You can place orders with Root a few days ahead of time to pick up. They also have some extra treats to choose from. The multigrain and sesame semolina breads were delightful and made excellent slices for sandwiches. For sweet stuff, their chocolate croissants can't be beat. Seriously.   Besides bread and veggies, other tents were hawking eggs, meats, honey, chocolate, and grains. Since the market wasn't too crowded, shoppers kept their distances, and everyone was wearing masks. The market is open from 8-11:30 AM Saturdays though some things were sold out already before I arrived. I'm glad I got to explore this cozy farmers market and definitely plan to return, hopefully on a warmer morning! ***NOTE: This market has moved to a new location. As of today, it's now at Morningside Presbyterian Church, 1411 North Morningside Drive.

It's really not hard to find because it's one of the largest things on that side. What makes an interesting is the fact that it has a front and the back. The front of it you can see people taking food classes there like for example making pasta. The middle part of it is going to be all the tables. The back half of it is going to be you sitting at the bar. So it actually is a really nice amount of space and there's a lot that you can do. Depending on what you're looking for.
