(Freshwater too!) If interested heres a little story... If not, just take my word for it and shop here. - This week I decided to relocated my reef tank for a better view in the house... biggest mistake ever! Everything that could've gone wrong, went wrong. I underestimated the weight of the tank thinking I could just get by with 90% of the water drained and removal of the sump and equipment, I was definitely wrong! I ended up pulling out everything, but the sand. Every coral, every invert, every fish... yes including 4 wrasses and a goby that all like to hide in the sand bed, I mean EVERYTHING! I then accidentally broke my rock structure into several pieces in the process of lifting them out of the tank and putting them into bins. Trying not to lose too much temp, I moved as fast as I could and used as many spare heaters as possible. It was a total disaster! After glueing back all the rock work that broke into pieces and moving everything back into the tank, I was unsure of how my fishes and corals would react to this sudden change in temp, biology and chemistry. 4 hours later, I finally got the tank running again (in it's new location,) I then noticed a huge bacterial bloom, Im guessing from the stirring of the sand bed. I then decided to do a water change to see if it would help. To add to my streak of badluck, I had no saltwater prepped. I quickly rushed to Age of Aquariums to get saltwater. That's where I was greeted by Isaac. He knew something was wrong. All I said was "I decided to move my tank" he already knew where I was going. I told him my problems and concerns and hesitancy to move my livestock back into the tank. He recommended several products to me, answered a bunch of questions I had and gave me solid advice. He also allowed me to borrow several containers for saltwater as long as i promised to bring them back. I am truly grateful. 2 days later, my tank is bouncing back. I had 0 losses. Fishes are happy and corals are all starting to open up again. Im leaving this review to share my experience with those new to the hobby, getting into the hobby and those who have been in the hobby for a long time. You can always get cheaper products elsewhere, especially online... but, you will never get the support of a local fish store. Support you LFS, like they support us.

The space is large, clean, and you can tell that they take great care of their fish because they look active and not sickly. I came on an afternoon over the weekend and was excited to see so many people asking about how to care for aquatic plants, when to introduce tank mates, etc. When you enter the shop, to your left are tanks, decorative wood, and dry goods like supplements. Loosely speaking, it seems like freshwater specimens (including some hefty bettas, thank you for keeping them in nice big mason jars instead of plastic) are on the left side, while marine/saltwater are center and right. The plants you see when you enter are far healthier than what you'd find at big box stores - I myself picked up some red root floaters and an Anubias variety called white rose. I've been to many a shop growing up that were dim, damp, and generally not as well kept as Age of Aquariums. They really take their time to explain how to design a tank, care for plants, and what to look for in healthy fish. Really fun spot I would like to bring my dad to so he can upgrade his 10 gallon tank!

Today there were red root floaters, one of the employees actually grew them - they were so healthy and super red I had to buy 3 cups !! I got more dwarf water lettuce bc my axolotl loved hanging in the roots. Staff today was super nice and helpful. There were 2 guys. It was extremely busy when I came like 10 people and they were helping everyone collaboratively. I hate when an employee only focuses on 1 customer who takes forever thinking and observing and there's a ton of ppl waiting. The majority of the bettas appeared to be dead, and one fish was still alive but gasping for air. I brought it to an employee's attention, and they sold the fish to me at a discounted price. Once I got the betta home, I found it was covered in white spots consistent with ich (white spot disease). When I mentioned the number of dead fish, I was told they were aware and that the fish "just needed a water change." Given the fish's condition and the apparent outbreak affecting multiple bettas, it seemed clear that the issue was more serious than a routine water change. I hope the remaining fish receive immediate medical attention and improved care. Healthy livestock should be a priority, and customers should be able to trust that the animals being sold are kept in appropriate conditions.

Tanks are stunning (clean, sparkly, lively) with new and interesting fish. Their live plant stock has grown and improved as well with some pretty healthy choices. The guys who work here are friendly and knowledgeable. The owner, Chris, is usually there keeping things running smoothly and I learned in our lengthy conversation that the reason for the shop declining back then was due to a family member passing and hardship stemming from that. I am SO impressed at how he pulled through and was dedicated to bringing his business back to life. So the lesson is YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT SOMEONE IS GOING THROUGH. I was quick to judge but now I know that also, running an aquarium shop has so many components/vendors you're dealing with and it's not always going to be perfect. So have some grace. These guys care about the livestock and customers. They'll do their best to be fair and remedy a situation. I've bought some great fish and they have been THRIVING. They even let me adopt a little one eyed betta that no one wanted but now she's living her best life. If I had one gripe it would be not to keep male bettas in tiny little cups, that's just cruel... But as long as they're changing water out everyday it's not enough to pull a star.

However, when I was ready to purchase them, the employee informed me the price was "incorrect" and attempted to charge me a higher price without honoring the advertised 25% discount. I waited for a manager or owner to return my call, but unfortunately I never received one. Needless to say, I left without the two angelfish I was excited to bring home. I really liked this place and wanted to continue supporting them, but this experience was disappointing and left a bad impression.
