I heard about this plant store located in the east art village of Long Beach. It is in a very popular area for art, Café and food. Although parking is pretty scarce in this area, I was able to park nearby your residential street. The store is beautiful inside. Plants are all well kept and the art on the walls are vivid and gorgeous. They have an incredible selection! I don't have a lot of knowledge for plants, most of my plants in the past were purchased at farmers market or swap meet. I paid slightly under $70 for two plants. I thought that was expensive. I would still come back here for another plant and I would definitely recommend coming here, with the large selection of plants they have. read more

By far the best Plant Shop in Long Beach, it's always clean, organized, the plants always look well taken care of, the service is always friendly and of course them being minority/LGBTQ+ owned is incredible. I stopped by Plantiitas after visiting Casita Bookstore--my plan was just to check it out since I've been researching local Latine-owned businesses. I told myself I was just looking... and of course, I walked out with a new plant and a hand-painted pot by @artbybean. No regrets. This Queer, Immigrant-Owned plant shop in Long Beach is full of beautiful, well-priced plants--from leafy classics to rare finds. The staff is friendly, the space is peaceful and well-curated, and honestly, it's the kind of place that makes you want to stay awhile. They also carry a great selection of locally made pots, candles, and other small-batch goods that make it feel extra thoughtful. They regularly host workshops and events--from plant care to markets and art pop-ups--making it more than just a shop. It's a true community space that's always doing something creative. Plantiitas also offers repotting services, so you can bring your own plant and pot or buy something new in-store and have the staff repot it for you. Every time I walk into plantiitas, I always tell myself I am just looking. I don't need another plant. Then I walk out with a watermelon plant, a rattlesnake plant, and a a cactus. This beautiful plant store has a wide and beautiful variety of plants including calatheas, cactuses and succulents, pothos, and even rare and exotic plants including a monstera that was $300+. But 90-95% of the plants are offered at a great price. They also have pots of all shapes and colors including the classic terra-cottas. They even have a section where you can purchase candles (Latinx inspired) and jewelry as well. Additionally, the store offers potting and re-potting services. You could bring in your plant and your own pots to re-pot them in. You can also purchase a pot and/or a plant and have the employees re-pot them so you can walk out with a new plant in a new pot. The price depends on those factors and how many inches the new pot is. On one visit, I was able walk in and to re-pot 3 plants for $30. While I waited I made the mistake of walking around the cactus section. I was not here to buy another plant. I found a beautiful fairy tale cactus plant, that looked like a castle. It also was $12, which was a good price. It was so good I unintentionally convinced a fellow shopper to get one too. Then I took the plant and ran to the register to beg the cashier to "go go go, hurry charge me before my mom finds out I'm buying another plant and -" "Yoandra you have too many plants!!" My mom came out of nowhere and the cashier was laughing as I argued that I didn't have this one though. Shout out to the cashier for trying. (and shout out to my mom: I love you mom!) All plants are currently doing well. I had to move the watermelon and rattlesnake plant to the kitchen because it couldn't survive in my room. The climate was too dry. But the cactuses are chilling in my window. I highly recommend going if you want a housewarming gift, a gift for your mom, your friend, your significant other, for you and for me. read more

This place was absolutely lovely and everyone there was so incredibly nice and helpful. My friend and I went on a little day trip to Long Beach, this place was on her list. It was so much larger inside than I anticipated and had a large selection of plants. They were also organized in a way where it was easy to find what you were looking for - pet friendly, succulents, etc. - whatever you want they probably have. Also, it was just gorgeous inside, stunning artwork, locally made pots and jewelry, and a small selection of clothing. I am a novice plant parent with a kitty at home, so when I saw a whole section dedicated to pet friendly plants I was blown away. So many incredible plants that I could confidently take home. I love the thought put into that section. I got a money tree despite being warned of its challenging needs, and as you can see it is thriving! I am so proud to say I purchased it from Plantiitas. The staff at checkout were happy to give advice about the plants I purchased. Very helpful!! I also took the terrarium class with my friends and had a blast. Such cute terrariums can be made. Walk into Plantiitas and you instantly feel as if you entered another plant dimension. Thousands of amaZing plants that all look so healthy and green, at first glance they all seem fake. Huge selection of stuff I have never seen before, a small greenhouse and meeting area complete with a fountain, this place is surreal. Prices seem fair, I would not know since I normally don't buy plants but this place has got me thinking about what great Christmas gifts they would make. Your local Latinx and LGBTQ-owned plant shop on 4th street, Anthony and Kevin, are friendly and helpful owners. They have done a great job curating a local shop for the community in Long Beach. It's cool that they sometimes host events/classes for re-potting. I came here to buy my girlfriend a succulent and a pot for it. Kevin and another employee guided me in the right direction and advised me on what to choose. I got the "String of Hearts," similar to a succulent. It is pinkish and grows pretty long. One of the employees also helped me pick out a pot and watering instructions. Diving into the shop, I appreciate how spacious and colorful the shop is. There are so many plant options that it gets stressful to choose something (but in a good way). I look forward to shopping for more plants for my apartment later in the year. read more

I've never been the biggest plant person but I have so many people in my circle who are and Plantiitas is where I usually go to pick up plant gifts for them. If you look at this place as a typical plant store it's maybe a 3 to me. They seem to specialize in succulents which I do t know much about so I could very well be selling it short. I don't dislike the place at all. As matter of fact the staff is amiable and helpful. What this place excels at is events. I was there for something and the owner gave a presentation that was uplifting integrating in to planting and nurturing a succulent. It didn't feel corny but just a nice time. I mentioned the experience to my partner and she suggested it to some friends who wanted to do a memorial to their mother. And it worked out great. The owner had a very suitable presentation and everybody could talk, share materials, help others with their succulent, and after it was over take home a remembrance. read more

They had million hearts plant, variegated! Such a great price too. All the plants are in great shape. Great prices on all! They had lots of scindapsus exoticas and silver ladies (?). Wow, such a fan! First, off, so cute on the inside. Really tastefully organized, and there are so many beautiful plants. The owners are a couple who started the plant shop from scratch during the pandemic. I have never successfully mothered a plant, and they were so helpful - helped me choose from a few different plant options that are fairly "low drama" and gave me great instructions on how to care for it. There is also a cute area with locally made cards, candles, stickers, and key chains. I got a card for my boyfriend made by someone in Long Beach, and it's so freaking cute. This would be the perfect place to search for a gift for any plant-lovers in your life. Loved the owners and vibe and will drive to Long Beach from anywhere in LA for any future plant needs. GO. Oh, also, go to a workshop so you can learn how to keep your plant alive from super nice people. PRO TIP: parking is hard to find on the main drag. Plantitas is a gem of a store on Long Beach's retro row. They have an awesome selection of plants, and the staff are helpful, and knowledgeable about the care of the plants. I got this amazing Swiss Cheese vine plant (Adanson's monstera) & fun magnet at Plantitas a few month's ago; my plant is still growing strong! The store hours unfortunately vary greatly, so I'd give their Instagram a follow before stopping in if you don't plan to visit other stores in the area - although there's plenty to see around the store - there's a bunch of thrift stores and other plant stores, coffee shops, and a cute little Italian bistro across the street that shares its outdoor dining area with a plant/book/coffee & wine bar next to it. Plant people rejoice! After hearing about this shop from enough of my plant friends, I had to check it out myself. Walking in feels like being in an organized jungle plant heaven! They have humidifiers and misters going to keep the environment right for certain plants, an ICU for less than happy plants, and a room dedicated to pots and planters. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and it feels good to shop locally instead of supporting a big box home improvement store that may not care for their plants or sources as well as these guys. Their succulent selection could be bigger, but this is definitely a great spot for houseplant lovers of all shapes, sizes and budgets. The store is decorated nicely and being in there is basically an anti-depressant. Unless of course you want to buy them all and realize you don't have the space or money to do so! Saw this beautiful plant shop open up right next to me and I had to check them out! The owners are so sweet and so kind. Kevin and Anthony are super knowledgable, helpful and forthcoming with their tips and tricks for taking care of plants. I needed a new money tree and they have beautiful healthy plants here so I had to get one. The vibras are muy buenas in here. They have a large selection of beautiful house plants here and hanging nets. They will have a re-potting station when they have their grand opening next month. I'm excited that this is not only so close to my home but that I can come in and get my plant diagnosed if something is wrong with it. The interior here is also very cute. Walked by with my mom who loves plants and she had to pop in and check it out. They surprisingly had 1 plant that she didn't own. Prices are reasonable and they have a great selection. The person working was very personable and friendly, she walked all over the store with my mom showing her the owners personal plants. We visited the smaller location and she let us know there's a ton more at the other location. We don't live anywhere near here but we'll def stop by again if we're ever in the area. I saw Plantiitas featured on Yelp OC's Instagram page a while back and had them bookmarked for over a year, and I'm so happy I was finally able to visit! I'm new to the plant hobby and have only gone to large retailers like Home Depot, Lowes, and Armstrong for my plants in the past. Usually the plants in those nurseries are droopy, overwatered, and neglected. After going to Plantiitas, I know I'm forever shopping local from now on! When I say these wonderful folks know plants--they KNOW plants! The shop itself is like a plant-lover's heaven. The decor is 10/10, and covered floor to ceiling with the most gorgeous plants! And you can tell every plant in the shop is treated with the utmost love and care. On the day we visited their outdoor greenhouse was also open, with an even more extensive selection of plants to browse through! I could spend hours and hours in Plantiitas, and I am so grateful to the kind Plantiitas folks for being so patient and answering all my questions about species info, plant care, and the difference between all the various planting soils and mixes. Special shout-out to Kevin, who is absolutely the best and helped us with everything during our visit! I feel so lucky to have gotten my hands on their last Ficus Audrey--a plant I have been looking for everywhere, to no luck!
