The desserts here were so cute! They were out of a couple of things but there was still plenty for us to try. Service here is great and the atmosphere is so cute. Decent prices too with a great value for what you get and everything is delicious. So why the four stars. We ordered four things and the box that they put it in, you have to be very careful You keep it completely flat and don't tilt it at all. Otherwise everything topples on top of each other which is what happened with my desserts. I think it would've been easier in a basic box to keep upright versus the beautiful handle box. The coffee here and tea are both excellent as well. Make sure you get something to drink to go along with your dessert.

For complete fairness, this is what we chose. All would range between 3 to 5/10 in our opinion.

We've been waiting for a soecial occasion to go to this special place for a while, and my friend's birthday came up! Not busy, easy parking, variety of uncommon flavors, and beautiful set up and furniture selection. The taste/quality of food was okay, it was the first time we don't finish our olates of dessert...most taste like plain creamcheese, off tecture- definitely look better than they taste. Might give it another try in the future if I see good reviews indicating better tasting options.

This has become our go to spot when we run away from our children. Their cute little mousse characters is what drew me in to begin with. Have tried them? Nope .. The service is good. If you don't have any patience, the service may feel slower than you'd like. When we come here it's usually later at night so there's only one worker. If you decide to eat there, they do bring your items to your table. The interior is pretty cool. They have areas with cool chairs and a coffee table in between and they have regular tables & chairs. Things we've tried: pistachio strawberry, Ube cheesecake, matcha tiramisu, red velvet, guava cheesecake, passion cherry pineapple cheesecake, pandas Ube mousse, mango passion, and a phletora or lattes.

I came with my friend as she said this was one of her favorite dessert spots and it was an interesting experience. Interior has enough seating and service was nice. It was relatively clean, the tables were kinda sticky which was meh to me. We got their Blooming Tea (hot), Strawberry Slush, Passion Cherry Pineapple, and Lychee Mousse. The Blooming tea tasted surprisingly subtle and calming, it paired well with the Lychee Mousse as it tasted subtly light with lychee jellies inside. The Passion Cherry Pineapple tasted strong as you can taste more of the cherry's tart. I wasn't really into it as much as the Lychee. The Strawberry Slush was just ok, it tasted diluted at first then got better.

Located off Beach Bl in Stanton. A good amount of parking. The place is nice has a good amount of tables and seats. I got the Nutella gluten free bear. It was very good and not too sweet. The gal and guy working here were both helpful, nice and friendly. Overall had a good experience here and the bear was yummy I'll have to come back and get it again along with a drink.

Yelp challenge, 100 challenge, #2025 So excited to try their cute desserts Tried the yuzu mango mousse (compared to French mousse cakes this is definitely a very Asian oriented dessert - not super sweet) it doesn't have a strong yuzu nor mango flavor (not the most delicate and smoothest mousse I've had but I still enjoyed it). When we first walked in, the desserts were beautifully displayed, though no one was at the counter right away. Once the lady came out, she was friendly--though not overly so. We ordered 2 desserts which looked super cute and were definitely tasty, though it didn't completely blow me away. The tea was served in charming little cups that added a nice touch to the experience. Overall, it was a lovely and relaxing stop--perfect for an afternoon treat or a quiet conversation over sweets. Nothing over-the-top, but I still really enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely come back when I'm craving something sweet

I been to this place a couple times to satisfy the sweet tooth. Super sick eye candy, petite sizes, and ranges about $9 a pop. From sweetest/heaviest to lightest/refreshing: Dragonfruit Berry, Pineapple Cherry Passion, Yuzu Mango Mousse There's usually one person working hard and polite there. Not much else to say on that end I just get my dessert n get straight to it. The store looked like some cool art deco interior, with really comfortable seats. My ONE complaint, is that I can never seem to catch their dessert specials that aren't in the cases. The really pretty ones you see on this yelp, IG, or their website. They say that they MIGHT get their dry ice on Saturdays which is part of the special. I kinda just wish it was more available, I'm certain it would earn this last star

Overall a casual quiet spot. The desserts were decent but nothing to write home about. Nice if you want individual sized desserts and seems like a nice gift. The service was decent, the bring out the cakes to you on plates which is nice! Wouldn't mind going again when in the area but not itching to go back. Next time I'm intrigued to get a drink. Friend said it was quite good

Checked out The Spoon with my daughter. Wow- the ube cheesecake was delicious and so pretty. It was not too sweet and was just so tasty- was very pleasantly surprised. Want to go back to try some other desserts. Nice ambiance.

This is a cute cafe with an assortment of cakes and drinks down the street from Knottsberry Farm. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet with plenty of comfortable seating. The selection was a bit limited when I got there so I didn't get to try everything I wanted, but they did refill the kiosk as the afternoon went on. Overall, the desserts here are really aesthetic and there's more cakes I would like to try if I'm in the area next time. As for each: The earl grey bear I came for was decent; it kinds of tastes like ice cream, was super cute, but is lacking a bit of something extra. The lychee pig was so-so. I liked the matcha tiramisu the best! The smoking jasmine was a miss for me; the lychee inside the mousse was pretty sludgy and tart, which I thought did not match well with the jasmine. The cakes were also smaller than expected; the three of us shared four desserts. Free parking lot behind the cafe; just make sure not to park in a residential apartment spot. Service is nice!

I came in at about 4pm on a Tuesday. The cafe was completely empty. I asked for recommendations on a dessert and was told the mango cheesecake was very popular. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and a mango cheesecake. The cheesecake was tart and sweet and creamy. Very tasty but quite pricey at $8. The Vietnamese coffee was also quite good but they only filled the cup 75% and use was too much ice. I think I got about 5 or 6 drinks out of it. It was $5. I sat on a comfy couch with a little bit of sun coming through the window. The visit was enjoyable but o won't be back.

If you are tired of getting cakes from Paris Baguette or 85*C, then the Spoon is another perfect option. My first time coming here, but I was amazed by the elegant designs. The place is super clean, organized, and with excellent service. I got a tiramisu cake that can feed up to ten people and a small durian cake. Very thick, delicious and fresh. Highly recommended!!! read more

This place is in a corner unsuspecting of the deliciousness it brings. Such a hidden gem. Each flavor is distinct and not overly sweet. The flavors all pop. The chocolate based ones have a slight bitterness that turns sweet. Such a delicate taste to each flavor. Price wise is what's expected for something this elegant. It looks so good you wouldn't want to eat it, but once you do, it's instantly devoured. This is our new spot for go to sweet desserts when we're craving something naughty. read more

First time here. Desserts were beautifully designed. Desserts were not overly sweet, which I liked. It was hard to decide which ones to try today. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but it's ok to treat yourselves once in awhile at this place. I think the location could be better elsewhere than Stanton. read more

Am I eating art? I can taste the art? Brushed up against the main street but supported by a surrounding of newly developed townhouses; the location of this recently opened pastry shop gives off a desire for new & old customers to visit. What is new should reinvigorate one to try. When it becomes old, should we revisit to taste the nostalgia again? An intimate welcoming for those wanting to catch up; for a relaxed study session; or for an escape from the busy reality of cars fuming up and down the 405, exhausted. This place might just provide. The services are welcoming and professional. Tea can be served to complement the desserts and atmosphere. Are we here for the spoons? They are quite golden. I fought the urge to try everything; this way I can remember the distinction better. Thai Tea cake was my lucky choice, it matched my tastes for an orange-brown evening. I will return and try the others; while fighting off my loyalty for the Thai Tea. read more

The desserts were delicious! I got the mango cheesecake and the Nutella Bear. They are very cute and tasty. The Nutella bear isn't literally pure Nutella, if you're wondering. It's a lighter consistency but you still taste the Nutella, and there's a filling in the center with what I assumed were Hazelnut bits. I also tried their Soursop tea - they don't add any sweetener which was perfect for me. They did add chunks of the fruit. My friend tried another of their teas and said she also didn't taste any added sweetener but she still enjoyed it. The person who took our order was patient. It was our first time so we took a bit long to decide what to get but she was nice about it. The location is cute with plenty of tables inside with an outside seating area as well. I would go again. I saw some of their items through social media posts from other people. Not everything I saw on the posts were in the showcase so I'm guessing some are seasonal or they constantly rotate their menu. Really good cakes! I've had two cheesecakes from here, first was ube and the second was the Mother's Day special lemon blueberry. Both were fantastic, good texture cheese, not too sweet or heavy. Not to mention, beautifully decorated. Highly recommend for your next cake needs, do recommend calling and ordering ahead. read more

Tried this place recently bc they looked delicious on IG. They were decently priced if you understand baked goods. Everything was great, except what I ordered I ordered the blueberry lemon cheesecake and while the inside was AMAZING- i was extremely disappointed with the blueberries on top. It was obvious they used frozen blueberries that had gotten gross and mushy while sitting. For such an upscale place I was surprised by this. read more

Each of the dessert Aesthetic isn't bad, however it is not consistent (like one is bigger than the other) and the ingredients used are poor quality it tastes like they melted down cheap candy. The interior design of this place has a youthful almost Vegas vibe, however they are not doing a good job in maintaining it. The window need cleaning , the dessert refrigerator have wipe marks, sofa have spill drink mess. I hope they change fast. read more

This is one of the new hidden gems in OC. The store definitely lives up to its name (contemporary dessert). Each dessert's presentation looks unique and beautiful. Most dessert places value in either presentation or taste, but the Spoon check mark both taste and presentation. I usually don't like the mousse because it is very sweet and dense in consistency, but the Spoon makes the sweetness and consistency just right. The owner (I believe) is very friendly and attentive as she frequently checked in on us and answered our question. She even gave us 2 slices of mango passion cheesecake (not in picture) to try for free (which was also delicious). The price ranges from $6-9/each and the size is quite small, so it is definitely a higher-end of dessert but the effort put in each dessert (presentation & taste) is definitely worth it. The blooming tea was not as I expected (flower blooming when water is poured in), but they have a very cute teapot and teacups. The tea definitely needs some improvement (quite pricey $7/pot but no flower bloom). The interior is modern and spacious with cute chairs and tables. The place has a lot of potential. Definitely coming back to try out other desserts! read more

Came because Yelp pictures looked good and they have Asian flavors! I was surprised to see how small the desserts were in person but I was already there and had to try something. I got the Calamansi panna cotta and the ube cheesecake, both 7$ each. And WOW they were delicious and so worth it. It is defiantly a delicacy dessert. read more

It seems that for the last few years, people have only been posting reviews for both Best Donuts (the one Beach Blvd and the other one on Chapman Ave) on the Yelp site for the Chapman location. Again, this review pertains to Best Donuts on Beach Blvd. The shop is very spacious inside. There is a large donut counter on one side and drink refrigerators in back. Like a lot of Asian shops, there are lots of miscellaneous little items to buy. I had a Croissant with Ham, Egg, and Cheese. I was asked if I wanted added jalapeños, but nothing else. The sandwich was very good, with a slightly sweet croissant and lots of sandwich fillings. I could see myself ordering this again. I didn't try any donuts but they looked generally fresh and there was a good choice of product. There were several sodas with twist-off tops, but none that were sugar-free. I ended up getting a bottle of water. Virus protection efforts here were rather casual. There is a short plastic barrier near the cash register, and the gal working here wasn't wearing a mask or gloves (contrary to current OC safety provisions). They can do better. UPDATE: This shop now appears in Yelp searches. I believe that it did not appear in Yelp Searches for several years because for some reason it had been labeled as "Closed". That meant that the other Best Donuts, in Stanton, started getting reviews from both locations.

I got a scoop of the "baklava crunch" ice cream. I expected just some baklava sprinkled over ice cream so I was pleasantly surprised to see it was fully blended into it. Truly delicious and captured all the flavors of baklava. There was no "crunch" though so maybe they should sprinkle a bit on top. I also tried their "Filo Tea" which is hot organic black tea with a choice of fresh mint or sage. I went with sage which the employee let me know is from Jordan. This was a spa in a cup. A relaxing experience that eased away stress. I really enjoyed my experience here and can't wait to try more. The knafeh topped with ice cream I must try!

Great drinks can only carry a place so far--hopefully the customer service improves because the products themselves are worth coming back for.
