I'm not one to leave reviews but , this warrants one today. I looked for a product all over town and found what I thought I needed. Purchased it with the salesmen telling this is what I need to do the job. took it home put in the batteries and it didnt do the job. the salesmen told me they are not walmart and dont take things back. Really wish I had been told that before I purchased, my bad for not asking too. So I wish I could show the salesmen my pool and that I didnt clean it and just return it because as he insinuated, that I'm that kind of person (3 times) that he is not a walmart. Your product does not work and you knew it but sold it anyway and wont honor a return. Horrible business with no integrity. I purchased a hot tub from The Pool and Spa Center in July of 2020. My control panel broke and was under warranty to be repaired. I've been trying for over a year and a half now to get the repair done. When I call I don't get an answer. No one will respond to my messages. I live an hour outside of Boise and have to drive in to speak with someone. I've had numerous repair visits scheduled but no one ever shows up or bothers to call. As stated by other customers...AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I wish we would have seen these reviews before purchasing from this store. However, we spent a lot of time researching which spa we wanted, and this was the only store in Boise that sold it. So, we bought without investigating the dealer. With many of the details left out, here is our experience: During the purchase of our new home, we decided to purchase a swim spa from Spa Center Inc the first week of October 2022. We paid a substantial deposit. The owner, Mr. Hoy told us to contact "his concrete guy" to prep the area for the spa, and assured us that it was an easy process and "his guy" would have no problems. We closed on our house within days of the purchase of the spa. The concrete guy came out to the house right away. He had a lot of questions before he could start. We tried to reach Spa Center Inc. and Mr. Hoy...no answer...no call back. The concrete guy tried to call days later with no luck either. Many days pass. Mr. Hoy called us asking us to come down and pay the balance of the spa. We agreed to go down the next day. We arrived at the store during normal business hours to find it closed for the day. We called and left a message for him. This was probably the only time he actually returned our call. He apologized, and asked if we could come down over the weekend. We agreed, and paid the balance the next day. It took some time for the concrete guy to get all of his questions answered and a plan for the prep. And while we waited, the weather began to change. So it took even longer to get the ground prepped for the delivery of the spa. Jump forward to November. The delivery can finally happen 11/29/22, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. We waited to hear from Mr. Hoy on Monday...no call. Tuesday morning arrives...no call. We went down to the store to find it closed for the day. There is was note on the door that says they will return 11/29/22 at 10 AM. We stopped by Spa Center Inc. the afternoon on the 29th and nobody was there, and nobody answered the phone. We decided to also send an email. Wednesday afternoon we returned to the store to find a new note on the door that says, "We will return tomorrow". So someone had been there, and not returned our calls or email. We went to the store everyday for a week, hoping that someone would show up. Finally, on 12/06/22, Mr. Hoy was in the store when we arrived. After discussing that we were upset that nobody was communicating with us about our purchase and delivery, he became very belligerent and unprofessional with us. He had me in tears. We asked for our money back, and he said we would have to sue him. He yelled at us to leave his store. We almost left, when he stopped us. He changed his tone and said he didn't want to lose us as customers. He then offered a rebate for all the trouble and the delivery within a couple days. We agreed. 12/08/22, (Day of delivery) the day was getting late, and we had not heard from Mr. Hoy, and again, he was not answering our calls, so we went to the store. We discovered that our spa had been damaged by the forklift he was using. A new one had to be ordered. Fast forward to 2/17/2023. There had been numerous unanswered calls, many stops into the store, many unpleasant words spewed at us, but the spa had finally arrived. By 2/24/23, the spa was delivered to our home. However, not everything that was in our purchase agreement showed up with the delivery guys to include the rebate he offered. We tried to resolve this with Spa Center Inc and Mr. Hoy in person and through a "Demand Letter". With out resolve, he has left us no choice but to file with ADA County Small Claims Court, and File a complaint with the AG through the Consumer Protection Act. **Avoid At All Costs!** Our experience(s) with Spa Center over the past two years include the following: price manipulation, continuous run-arounds, failure to honor the two year spa warranty (twice), and nonexistent customer service. I have had nothing but bad experiences with Spa Center particularly with its owner, John Hoy. Save yourself the countless phone calls and email follow ups and purchase your hot tub anywhere else. We put our deposit for a Coast hot tub with John Hoy in September 2020. He said he was 3-4 weeks backed up due to covid which was understandable. After 11 calls (all made by us, never a follow up from John) and four months later, we finally got a call back from John letting us know our spa was available. On this call he informed us that the price was going to increase by $500 because his costs during the pandemic had gone up and it was a rough few months for the business. He then said that if we did not come in to pay in full (including his new $500 upcharge) within 48 hours that he would cancel our contract and sell the hot tub to someone else. I promptly arrived at his shop and reminded him that we had a contract with a 20% deposit down for a hot tub at a specific price. He finally agreed to the original sale price, but said he would only take a credit card if he could charge us a 3% transaction fee. This was never disclosed prior, in writing or verbally. Our next poor interaction with John was when the metal jet covers started to rust less than a year into owning our spa. We inquired with him for six months to see how to replace these. He kept saying that "they were on order," then "they were at the shop but misplaced," then "they were on backorder." Finally he flat out lied and said that he had shipped them to us. When I asked for the address he shipped them to, he literally admitted he couldn't find our home address. (Yet, he delivered the hot tub to us.) He could not keep his story straight. Finally, we gave up and still have rusted jet covers. Our hot tub which was rendered completely inoperable in the winter of 2022. While within the two year warranty period, our hot tub motor stopped pumping and emptied itself across our yard (there was clearly a leak). I called and emailed John promptly to get this resolved. To his credit, he called me back the same day to let me know that he was getting in touch with the repairman. Over the next five days, I called John to follow up three times, emailed twice and received no response. I then went to Coast Corporate in Canada who was ALSO unable to get a hold of John for resolution. Four weeks later and dozens of emails back and forth with Coast Corporate, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I found a hot tub repairman who came out the next business day and fixed our hot tub in one hour. Ironically, the repairmen had also heard terrible things about John's business practices and he is known throughout the Treasure Valley for being someone to avoid. John completely ghosts you once he has your money in his hand. Would give 0 stars if I could. Awful customer service. Sold us a unit with a defective control panel, and refused to come out and address the issue after initial install. We have tried numerous times in numerous ways to contact them. Our efforts to make contact were intentionally dodged. It absolutely baffles me how this company is still in business. Not a fan of this business. Purchased a $10,000 hot tub, paying cash. They delivered it broken, refused to replace it for one that doesn't leak. Pleaded to have it fixed for months. Got so upset with them that I begged to speak to the owner of which I was denied. Keep being told waiting on part from the manufacturer. This was June 6th, now it is mid October, no more contact from them and still a brand new hot tub that leaks with winter fast approaching. And they wonder why I'm angry. The most horrific customer service I have ever received! Went in to ask about their swim spas and without even as much as a hello was asked if I've looked at any yet. I told the owner, yes and that we were just at idaho spa. His next question was if they even had any available which I told him they did. He then demanded to know how much they were selling them for. I diverted the question and instead asked if we could discuss the spas he had available. He refused and told me to go buy somewhere else and he didn't want my business since I wouldn't tell him the price the other location (which are also a different brand entirely) was selling theirs for. This was even after I said we weren't concerned as much with cost and more so looking for certain features. He was hostile, aggressive, and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. The other pool and spa businesses (idaho spa, leisure time, snake river to name a few) are much more deserving of your business if you are in the market. Do not waste your time at the spa and pool center, unless of course you want a lesson on how to not run a business. I'd also recommend women do not go here alone as he was very aggressive. read more

I ordered a spa cover. Never got it, could not reach them by phone, voice messages were not returned. When I finally made contact and demanded a refund, they did not return the full amount, citing processing & restocking fees. Worst customer service experience I have had in 30 years as a consumer in Boise. Spa purchased there starting having problems about a year and a half after purchase. Spa was covered by a 3 year warranty. Worked with them for 9 months off an on to try and get the issue resolved. They would tell me different things, at one point were going to order the part that was an issue, and then we just waited for months until problems got worse. Call back and they have no idea what is going on, starting all over in the process, including telling me there is nothing wrong my hot tub. Finally convinced them to send a tech out (again) who confirmed bad pump - this is after 9 months of issues. They tore the hot tub apart, left with the components. Talked to the tech. The Spa Center was trying to Frankenstein together a hopefully working pump out of several broken pumps to replace my "warrantied" spa part. Then, never heard back from them. Not so much as a call in a month. Tired of dealing with these incompetent people. So.... I ordered the parts they took (at my own cost), including a brand new pump. Installed and AMAZING - the spa works after now 10 months of hassle dealing with these people. John is HORRIBLE to work with. But, the $450 I spent to fix the warranty covered issue on my own, was worth it just not to deal with them any more. STAY CLEAR of this place. You will likely regret it if you don't. read more

Awesome job on our project by the Spa & Pool Center. Our pool was done in 3 weeks (unbelievable) and Walt and the guys were courteous and fun to work with.
