We recently had to have some warranty work done on our fireplace. It's kind of been a hectic, long situation that has led us to work with quite a few employees from Leisure time from purchasing, installation etc on our new construction build. They've all been "good" but today we had the pleasure of working with Austin, and he was GREAT. He was very kind, professional, and knowledgeable, he went above and beyond what any one else has. It's the little things that have a huge impact. While he was here he didn't just work on what he had to and leave. He took the time to clean our glass, vacuum inside and out, and leave it nicer than he found it. No it's not required or even expected but that's what makes it so special. He's the first person we've dealt with that will leave an impression good enough to recommend Leisure time as a company as long as his name is attached to it. DO NOT ORDER FROM LEISURE TIME . My experience was frustrating from start to finish. Full detailed experience below. I first visited the showroom at the end of August 2025 and worked with a nice woman who helped me choose a new fireplace. A few weeks later, I reached out via email to place my order, I was routed to a different sales rep. From the start, it was a struggle just to get responses. I had to send multiple follow-up emails just to get basic answers or move the order forward. Once we finally got our order placed, I was told the unit would arrive in "two weeks", but I was given almost no information about requirements, next steps, or what to expect during installation. Twenty days later, after multiple check-in emails, the unite arrived and the first install team came to my home. I asked them to raise the fireplace 5". After they left, I noticed they had raised the fireplace 8", not 5". I was reading the manual and read that the mantle needed to be 15" above the unit--not the 12" I was told in the showroom--or it wouldn't pass final inspection. Those "extra" three inches suddenly mattered a lot. During the first install, from accessing the chimney in my backyard they also managed to track dog poop throughout my home and didn't bother to say anything. It took ten more days, plus a series of calls, texts, and emails, for them to schedule a second crew to fix their mistake. That team arrived with no context about what needed to be done, yet they were far more knowledgeable and actually helpful. They recommended a passive heat kit--something I wish had been explained up front. When I asked my sales rep to order the kit, she told me it would cause "weeks of delays". Frustrated, I contacted the manager to explain what had been happening. She apologized, but immediately after, I received an annoyed phone call from my sales rep, clearly upset that I had gone above her. Despite everything, my account was not transferred to anyone else, so I was forced to keep working with her. It then took them an entire week just to figure out whether they could get the kit locally. After repeated follow-ups, they decided to order it anyway, adding even more delays. I was also told it would cost another $400 to install--after I had already paid for installation the first time. They eventually waived the fee after another frustrated call. When the new parts finally arrived, I was told the knowledgeable team would return to do the install. Instead, the same kid who installed it incorrectly the first time was sent out again. After that visit, I had to repaint (Again) because he left dirty handprints all over my walls. When it came time to put on the frame, another employee showed up who seemed lost and had to call someone for help. After months of miscommunication, delays, and sloppy work, the fireplace is finally installed--but the process was exhausting and completely avoidable. Long story short: don't order from Leisure Time. Their customer service is horrible, communication is poor, and the installation experience was unprofessional at best. What should have been a simple project dragged out for months due to their mistakes. read more

First off, we have had Leisure Time service our fireplace before and their technicians, this one included, have always been courteous, knowledgeable and professional, and have all done very satisfactory work. On a previous service, when a part had to be ordered and required a return installation visit we were only charged for the part itself. This time it was determined that our unit needed to have the pilot replaced but the technician didn't have one with him. He estimated the cost of the part, which is normal, but this time said there would be an additional $100 charge for another service call to install it. Since the previous invoices included the make, model and serial number of our unit the additional service call charge for installation seems uncalled for. This isn't a good business practice. read more

Gregg and Nick were at our home on time and after 1.5 hours they concluded our present 21 year-old ComforTech built-in fireplace was a dead duck! No surprise but worth all their expertise to close the book on it. They used about every tool and bit of knowledge to completely dismantle it and finally cap off the gas so no future problems. Gregg is in the Genius class with Einstein and Nick will soon be there with Gregg's tutorage. Two finer technicians I've never met. With both of us over 90, it's not worth putting in a new unit. It was installed on October 11 this year but after more than a month (it's now November 25), I am still waiting for the metal surround that their metal worker is supposed to provide. This company will gladly take your money for a new fireplace but good luck with getting the project finished. They don't answer calls, unless you threaten them with a bad review. read more

Here we are six weeks later, in mid-December, and I still don't have a fireplace I can use. Pros: Ordering was quick and easy. Found all the parts I needed to keep my hot tub running over the year. Shipping only took about a week. Cons: Whoever is in packaging needs a new job. Box was barely big enough to fit the 2 filters. Also crowded in the box were all the test strips and the cleaner spray, throwing a piece of crumpled up paper on top for cushioning. The cleaner spray bottle was sitting under the filters and damaged both during shipping. At $65 each, you think you would take a little more care in a product you are sending someone. I will update my review if the company responds, sends me a return label to send back the damaged filters and helps me in getting replacements. read more

Our experience with Leisure Time has been so poor that it motivated my to write a review of them which I hardly ever do. We picked out a new fireplace, they gladly accepted our payment of over $8000 for a top of the line unit, and then they said the would be out the following week to install it. This was back in July and it is now December. We were trying to plan ahead and have our fireplace ready for winter. Now we are in Winter and only have part of what we need installed to actually use our fireplace. The installers don't show, or something is on backorder, or the van needs its old changed, or whatever. I feel like there is a new excuse every time. If I could cancel my order I would but I have most of what we need just not a chimney. Anyway I would stay far away from this company, they clearly don't give any thought about treating customers right or even human decency. read more

Extraordinarily disappointed with the level of service I received from Leisure Time of Boise (LTB) today in regard to issues with my gas fireplace. Not only did I pay for the privilege of a service call without the issue being resolved I was essentially told by the service manager that I spoke with by phone that I wasn't using the unit correctly, it was my fault that the unit had broken, and that I'll more than likely be fully on the hook for the eventual repair/replacement costs. How the service manager who has never stepped foot in my home and observed me using the fireplace could come to this conclusion on his own and why he would say this is beyond me. I might have been a little more willing to swallow the service manager's assessment if the unit in my fireplace wasn't originally installed by LTB. However, it was installed by LTB 3 years ago and I have had nothing but issues ever since. Defective parts and parts that LTB had forgotten to install or installed incorrectly are the recurring themes. It was even suggested to me today by the service tech that was in my house that during a previous service call that the tech either forgot to install or improperly installed a part that would have prevented my unit from malfunctioning. I don't expect repairs/replacement costs to be covered for a mistake that I made, and I know that things eventually break over time and will need to be fixed or replaced. I'm not unreasonable. However, I do have a problem with a company when their service and products are consistently poor. Leisure Time of Boise gets a big thumbs down from me. read more

Worst retail experience in my 70 years. I ordered and paid for a fireplace on 2/28. Then they gave us the wrong framing spec sheet which I gave to my framers. Oops, a $500 mistake to reframe to the correct specs. After 3 weeks I called about the order...oops we forgot to order it! They ordered it and it arrived...oops, wrong fireplace. They admitted ordering the wrong fireplace. No apologies, no excuses, just rapant incompetence. Finally the correct fireplace arrived on May 5th. Happy Cinco de Drinko! read more

5 stars. From when we first came in browsing to delivery of our tub we were treated great the whole way through. Casey(salesman) did a great job explaining features and differences in models, as well as other brands out there, he was a wealth of knowledge. Also, he never pressured us to buy or to upgrade to a higher line. On top of that we ended up breaking 2 of the cover clips on the first day(not a part flaw, my wife tried opening the hydraulic cover and the back snaps were still on) and Casey hooked us up with new clips. We ended up choosing a Caldera Niagara tub and it fits our needs perfectly. It was an investment for us and we look forward to all the great times and conversations we will have in it. The tech, Monty, also did a great job making sure it was setup properly and took the time to explain the chemicals and procedures. Delivery was on time and they help recommend an electrician if you don't have one. Don't buy your hot tub from a parking lot or the fair, they won't be there for you if something goes wrong. read more

If your gas fireplace isn't working properly, call Leisure Time and ask for Verne. It was a bit of a wait (they are busy!) but so worth it. Another local company told me it needed a new gas valve and it would be $884 plus another $150 service call if I didn't have them do it that day (and he kept saying "But, no pressure!"). Leisure Time charged me $180, found that the gas valve works fine, and sort of gave the 13 year old fireplace a "tune up". I am so impressed! He was polite and professional and best of all, I now have a fireplace to enjoy in this cold weather. read more
