Does the store have soap-making materials?

We do not. The only raw materials we carry are shea butter, beeswax, and some oils.

It's nice that there finally is a zero waste store in San Jose and it's also right next to my job.

We got to play & test scents to build our candle & also decorate the tops as well. As a team we enjoyed it & it was nice and personal. But utmost Jackie made us feel at ease, comfortable & just allowed us to have fun in her space! I love my candle and lighting it up every chance I get:)

When you arrive, the staff are super welcoming and walk you through the candle-making process step by step. It's beginner-friendly, so even if you've never done anything like this before, it's easy to follow along. There are tons of scents to choose from and you can mix and match a few to make something unique, or pick one signature scent you love. You also get to control how strong or subtle the fragrance is, which is a nice personal touch. The space itself is clean, well-organized, and smells amazing! Plan for about two hours total: the first hour is for scent choosing, instructions, and pouring your candle, and the second is for drying time. During that time, you can explore nearby shops or grab coffee in downtown Mountain View. When you come back, you can decorate your candle with labels or small touches to make it gift-ready or keep for yourself. Overall, it's a relaxing, creative experience that's perfect for date nights, small group outings, or even solo time if you want to unwind and make something special. Highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a fun, hands-on local activity!

As a recent immigrant from Scandinavia, I was thinking that they might feel I was misappropriating their culture or that they might not even speak English. But they were very nice, spoke perfect English and made me feel very welcome. Bring cash: They don't take cards. There's an ATM a few stores down but it charges $1.99 for withdrawal. Very reasonable prices. I'll be back.

Would not have gone in had I not called ahead and found out that they had exactly what I needed. Good service. Had what I needed. Will go back. Longer version... So I'm on a mad search for some copal to burn in place of frnakinsense and myrrh to show the kids of my church something close to what the mythical magi brought to baby Jesus. It has to be real copal (or real fankinsence/myrrh) as I'm allergic to chemical scenting agents. I look all over the internet and find web based stores, but no brick & mortars in the south bay and I need it in 2 days. I put out two different talk threads on yelp to try to get some advice, but hors go by with no response...So I begin calling around to stores I see on the web, but who don't have internet sites. I call a couple who do not have copal and then hit Santa Josefina. So I get into my car and take the 15 mile treck from work to this store. I drove past it once because there is no outside sign saying "Santa Josefina," and there is no address printed on the building. On my second pass I deduced that since the building on one side was two numbers higher and the one of the other side 2 numbers lower that this must be it. I found parking a block away and as I approached I knew I was in the right place. I saw every order of Catholic Saint and ritual items. The sales clerk (owner?) was sitting somewhat in the back of the store. I told her that I need copal and she says, "Oh, yes." Then I notice that she has frankincense and myrrh. So I buy all three. She kindly tells me that she has sage, too, which is good for smuding at the New Year, but I tell her I have some at home. I ask if she'll take a check and she says, charmingly, "As long as it won't bounce. I stopped taking checks for a while, you know how it is." I assured her that it won't bounce. The neghborhood and store have lots of things that typical WASPY protestants (as I can seem) would not recognize and might make some less open people uncomfortable. But she was the nicest person and very helpful. She was happy that she had what I needed and said she looks forward to seeing me again. This may very well become a regular place for me to seek out ritual items. And the cross-cultural experience makes it that much more charming to me.
